Chapter 656 -431 Good News_2
“Sorry, Jack, I must go.”
Philip suddenly stopped, looked up and said.
Chen Lun nodded slightly, silently took off his hat, held it to his chest, and gave a slight bow to bid farewell. Philip gave him one last glance, his expression somber as he walked into the depths of the darkness, his figure vanishing.
In the distance, Chen Lun thought he heard Philip mutter under his breath:
“Such a foolish woman… Please be safe, Maggie.”
Chen Lun stood in the darkness of the dreamscape, watching Philip leave.
After a while.
He began to recall his recent conversation with Philip when something suddenly occurred to him, causing his brow to furrow.
‘That’s right, according to Philip, the reason one can travel from the Dream Realm to the Spirit World via a detour is because outside the rift there’s a web-like Hell created by the Bone Burying Old Man that serves as a medium for connection… But isn’t it where the Conspiracy Angel Death Twin Stars are located? Would it not be dangerous to go there recklessly?’
A sense of unease quickly returned to Chen Lun’s heart.

The next day.
Chen Lun got up early to dine in the Generous Church District’s restaurant, when Connie suddenly approached, reporting to him:
“Mr. Jack, Sir Babayeh, the Steward of the Sun Royal Family, is looking for you.”
Chen Lun was a bit surprised at this.
He remembered from the previous Empire’s celebration that this man had spoken from a high platform and seemed to be Prince Dazlert’s close confidant. So, he put down his fork and said:
“Steward Babayeh? Please let him in, and while you’re at it, ask if he would like to join me for a meal.”
“Certainly, Mr. Jack.”
Connie curtseyed, lifting her skirt gracefully before promptly departing the restaurant.
Not a moment later.
A middle-aged man with pale skin and a cleanly shaven beard was led in by Connie. He was dressed today in a modest khaki cotton suit with a light gray overcoat draped over it.
“Good day, Mr. Jack Spett.”
Babayeh greeted him with an affable smile, touching his chest and nodding his head.
“I appreciate your invitation to dine, but I have already eaten before leaving the palace.”
“Then please take a seat, Mr. Babayeh.”
Chen Lun returned a polite smile and immediately instructed Connie to take Babayeh’s overcoat and hang it on the coat rack by the wall.
Connie tactfully left the restaurant, leaving the two men alone.
“My sudden visit is due to the Prince’s secret plan.”
“A secret plan?”
Chen Lun raised his eyebrows.
“Indeed.”
Babayeh nodded, his smile gradually fading into a serious expression.
“Lately the Prince has been troubled by the war in the west, busy convening various meetings for days on end… He is quite dissatisfied with the actions of the Anlong United Kingdom and hopes to garner more support to unite the military forces and implement a severe military crackdown on the Anlong United Kingdom.”
He leaned forward slightly, his voice lowering as he said:
“The Prince is serious this time.”
Chen Lun’s eyes narrowed.
He thought to himself that with the Red Calamity crisis resolved, the Empire was no longer restrained by the Red Apple Church and could finally deal with the United Kingdom in the west.
From his memories of a past life, he vaguely recalled the “Western War” which seemed to have occurred during the early phase of version 2.0 as a side quest to help players adjust to the game’s rhythm… much like the “Plague Legend” storyline at the start of version 1.0.
‘Back then, the Anlong United Kingdom had sent an assassin to kill a Duke of the Sun Royal Family, igniting the war as a catalyst… But the affair was too peculiar, with speculation in past forum threads that possibly Prince Dazlert himself orchestrated the whole scenario to have a justified excuse to send troops against the Anlong United Kingdom, but why…’
Chen Lun couldn’t quite understand it.
If it was just about reclaiming the lands of the Anlong United Kingdom, that might not be enough.
‘Prince Dazlert is far more complex than he appears, he must have a deeper purpose…’
A strong intuition surged within Chen Lun’s heart.
“So, Steward Babayeh, you are personally making efforts on behalf of the Prince, what do you need me to do?”
He straightforwardly asked the question.
Babayeh responded with a gentle smile, a touch of respect on his face.
“Naturally, we hope to have your support, Mr. Jack Spett.”
He raised his head.
“The Empire is not just the Tresor Sun Royal Family’s; there are countless believers of the Seven Gods Church within it. The Prince is seeking support from the Church… so that the will of the people can be as one, right?”
Babayeh’s voice lowered, adding:
“Now the Sun Church, the Moon Church, and the Constellation Sect are all on the Prince’s side, we just need the Generous Council to support the Prince’s decisions, and then this campaign will have a greater chance of success… And as the highest official of the Royal City Generous Church, you hold a pivotal status, and the Prince values your stance highly.”
Chen Lun felt that Babayeh’s words had more to them than met the eye and he didn’t think things were as simple as they appeared.
However, he did not show his thoughts, and instead joked:
“I’m just an ordinary Governing Officer in the council, I can’t represent the entire council… Moreover, the Generous Council is newly established, its stature is completely incomparable to the other six Righteous God Churches.”
“Oh no, no, no… Mr. Jack Spett, there is no need to be so modest. No one is more aware of the power of the Generous Council than the Royal Family, even to the point where, in this era, the Generous Council can definitely claim a top three position among the Seven Gods Churches!”
