John Wicked: Endlessly Evolving My Pet Monsters-Chapter 17: Parting, Unexpected Collection
Chapter 17 - Parting, Unexpected Collection
After cooking the fish, John also summoned Alfred as the trio ate together.
John sent Alfred and Pymon to his soul space after eating. Meanwhile, he spent two hours alone just meditating and keeping the fire up before he woke up Yuna and Maxon, as it was his time to sleep now.
John summoned Alfred and Pymon and then directly went to sleep in his shack.
"Yuna, can I sleep two hours more, please?" Max said while pulling his face. "I really need to rest more to get my body fixed fully."
"Jeez, fine."
Snoring...
Yuna speechlessly shook her head and went to wash her face in the small well filled with spring water.
She summoned her Sun Fox, who stood one and a half meters tall and was almost three meters in length at the prime stage.
"Starry, I'll leave the campfire to you."
Sun Fox cutely barked in response, her three tails with their tips burning in sparkling yellowish-orange flames looked beautiful, and also affected the campfire's flame as Starry lay down nearby.
It was still pitch black in the sky with moonlight shining down from two moons above. It was close to 2 a.m., and the sounds of different wild Monsters and insects rang out as usual.
The sleeping cycle would run twice to get a total of seven to eight hours of sleep, as that much was a must to recover fully in both mind and body.
Whistle!
As Yuna sat down near the campfire, Pymon arrived with a tender whistle.
Looking at her, Pymon cooed with sparkling eyes and rubbed his head on her legs.
Yuna rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. I'll summon her. Acting all adorable now after rejecting me, tsk."
Summoning her female Silverwind Eagle with a majestic furry neck and silky hair, Pymon cried in excitement and started flying around her above.
But Yuna's Silverwind Eagle was also head over heels for this majestic evolved variant of Silverwind Eagle that was Pymon.
Yuna smiled as both of them flew up while dancing with each other. "It won't be long before she lays the eggs, I guess."
...
As the sun came up at seven in the morning, the trio were fully rested, freshened up, and had breakfast.
And it was time for separation.
"I really had fun, but this is not over," Max said with a grin. "I am going for now, but the next time we meet, I'll have the Blazeborn Stalker with me!"
John smiled and nodded, "Good luck."
"Yeah. Good luck, I suppose. You will need it," Yuna chuckled.
And so, Max departed towards his destination, the Scorched Grove area.
Yuna saw how John's Ravenous Hound became even stronger with that dangerous method.
She wanted to train her Sun Fox to maximum potential as well, but not in John's way, as it was dangerous. Instead, she was going to go with the orthodox approach of training the pet with tough combats and physical exertion to increase their stats as much as possible.
"John, I won't imitate you, but I still learned something," Yuna smiled as she rubbed her Sun Fox's head gently. "That there is still a level of bonding I haven't reached yet with my Rayray."
"But I will reach there. I won't let Rayray suffer alone for my sake."
John faintly smiled and nodded, "All the best."
Yuna left with her Sun Fox while her Silverwind Eagle Starry and John's Pymon were training together like wild monsters, with Pymon leading the hunt.
Challenging other Silverwind Eagle groups one by one and also fighting against other flying monsters, they regularly returned to camp, bringing fruits and rest before continuing their adventure.
The hunt of monsters wasn't calculative like Tamers. The need to kill would arise only when hunger rises or disputes happen.
If it were just for small things like contesting for some things, resources, territory, and such, the losing Monsters would usually give up and escape, prioritizing survival.
John began doing his usual daily morning physical exercises after Yuna left.
His shredded and growing physique glistened with sweat under the sun's rays as he did push-ups.
As the clock hit 8:00, Pymon and Starry returned with a bunch of fruits, and John also ended his session.
"Shiii! Coo~"
"Whistle!"
John chuckled as he saw the two eagles talking before Pymon led her into the wooden nest John had built for the eagles with the help of Yuna and Max before Max left.
It was even better than their hatches because this nest house even had a comfortable bed made of thick and soft Teuro grass along with shredded leaves.
Starry and Pymon have been on their adventure from two o'clock at night till eight, so they've been in action for six hours.
Their stats had naturally increased by a few points during the last six hours, fully reaching maximum potential at Prime-stage. To increase more, they needed extreme training from Tamers, though some Monsters, especially high-ranking ones who go through tough ordeals with constantly surviving at death's door and recovering, also increased their stats, and generally, those types of monsters were the strongest, and hard to tame.
After all, forceful training by Tamers could also affect Pet Monsters, especially if the Tamers are being more harsh and less loving, which was not rare in the world of Tamers.
So if a Monster survived and got strong by building its own will and mental fortitude out of its own actions and circumstances, it would have higher power and potential.
...
John took a bath with fresh spring water by pouring buckets over himself.

Afterward, he sat down in the camp's middle ground, near the doused campfire.
"Nice haul. It looks like they brought more this time since it was their last run," John chuckled as he saw the pile of fruits and looked at the wooden nest house.
Pymon and Starry will give the eggs by tonight, I suppose. If there's a variant evolved egg with Pymon dominant genes, we should be able to birth it with one day of careful hatching aid.'
John prayed to get a mutant egg on the first try in his mind and began sorting the fruits.
But just as he picked off some fruit from the pile, some magical sparks whipped up before dissipating.
John blinked in surprise as he saw a resource in the pile—a Lifebud Ulcriel Flower!
'This flower must be guarded by Stonehorn Glitter Ants. No wonder Pymon and Starry had those injuries...so they fought these guys.'
John smiled. He was sure the factor that increased their stats was their battle with those Ants. They were tough and fast little bastards and were always in a group of five or more to make it more annoying to deal with them.
'Good job, Pymon and Starry. 'This flower is going to be very useful for me.'
Lifebud Ulcriel Flower was a Silver-rank resource, and it was a non-attribute pure spirit resource with morph properties.
He planned to find it here since he needed it, but Pymon and Starry saved time by finding it and retrieving it.
Moreover, it was dug out from the root, so the flower's energy was still preserved. But if he kept it like that, it would dissipate after six hours, so John stood up and quickly created a wooden container, filled it with mud and water, and planted it inside.
Even if it was dug up with roots, it would only preserve its energy for 12 hours, so it was better to put it in the container.
John put the second flowerpot beside the first one inside his shack.
'Edgebloom Flower and Lifebud Ulcriel Flower...alright, I just need one more resource, and I can attempt the unorthodox method of ranking up.' John clenched his fist.
'But before that...'
John summoned Alfred and closed the Shack's doors and windows.
"Buddy, it's time for you to evolve and rank up."
