John Wicked: Endlessly Evolving My Pet Monsters-Chapter 26: Soul Talent
Chapter 26 - Soul Talent
"Wow, that's such a handy Soul Talent," Yuna said, surprised. Healing and Stamina recovery? That was top-tier!
"I've fed it to random Monsters to check its limitations as well," John said as he got up after feeding Sun Fox another leaf. "Monsters build up immunity the more they eat it. So the effects of healing and stamina recovery get lowered until it doesn't affect them at all."
"But I'm hoping this immunity doesn't last forever and that it resets after a certain number of hours."
Yuna nodded with a smile, "Worry not. The immunity doesn't last forever, I'm sure. But how long it takes for immunity to disappear depends on the talents."
"Oh? That's great then." John blinked. 'Looks like I'll have to capture a monster.'
"Let's return. I already got the ingredients to cook food."
But just as they began walking, a group of Windfury Apes arrived, numbering eight. Naturally, they didn't dare to attack John's group because of Alfred and John's strong Silver-rank Soul Crystal aura.
They just watched while eating grapes or other fruits. The leader of the group shouted as the apes began retreating, but before the leader could retreat, Alfred had arrived there using Umbral Drift and pinned it to the tree branch's surface, bleeding its back with a claw swipe.
The other Apes stopped and started shouting, but John grunted loudly as he glanced at them and said, "Get lost."
"Alfred, tell it to obediently come with us. I'll let him go tomorrow."
"Awu, awu, woof!"
The Ape understood and having no choice, it obediently joined the group.
John fed it an enchanted leaf and healed its injuries.
"Walk in the front," John gestured at the spot in front of Alfred.
"Ooo..."
If it tried to escape, Alfred could easily pin it down.
"So this is your experiment monster?" Yuna chuckled.
"Yep. I'll find out how long it takes for immunity to be removed and then I'll let it go."
...
By the time they finished preparing dinner, the sun was entirely gone and moonlight was illuminating the Paladon Forest.
John's day was over, but Yuna just woke up two hours ago, so she would spend the night staying up.
Just as the duo finished eating, the two variant eggs hatched.
Yuna was overjoyed, but Starry was sleeping, so she didn't disturb her and quietly dissolved the soul contract with Starry.
Afterward, she made a soul contract with one of the two Abyssal Darkwind Eagles.
John could see which was one better and had more evolution pathways with, so he told her to which one to make contract with.
"Alright, I'm going to sleep now. Train your new pet well. I'm leaving Alfred and Pymon outside just in case."
"Thanks. Good night."
Yuna saw John entering his shack and sighed while gently patting her heart. 'I like him...'
'But why do I feel like he will reject me?'
The bird in her hand cried out, seeking her attention.
"Yes, yes, little guy. Come, let's get you some soul cores to absorb."
Yuna started her day at night. Accompanied by Pymon and Sun Fox, she went out to kill some Fish Monsters to feed the baby Eagle some soul cores.
Alfred was lying near the campfire, relaxed but alert as a protector.
'This tamer is quite talented. Reaching Silver-rank with that harsh method and doing these things...'
Azelis was impressed.
'His methods and actions are decisive. It's not like a sixteen-year-old at all. He reminds me of myself when I was his age.'
"Why are you smiling, Azelis? Are you watching some naughty kids?"
Azelis rolled her eyes at Danny, "Shut up. As a matter of fact, I've found someone whom I am willing to recruit to Ouroboros Hall. That's why I'm happy."
The other four on the ship's deck were surprised.
"Already? Are you sure that someone is qualified, or are you just basing that on potential?"
"Are you saying I don't know how to assess someone?" Azelis narrowed her eyes coldly at Danny.
"Boy or girl?" a black-beared man, the branch leader of the Skyban Sect
"It's a boy."
"Don't tell me he's that Ravenous Hound's master?"
"Yeah, that one."
"Tsk, he's been in Silver Hill Spring for three days now. I'm hoping he will move to other areas so we can all observe him."
"Even if he doesn't move, I am going to fight you for him," Danny snickered. "Let's see who can nab him."
"Humph, keep dreaming."
...
John woke up feeling refreshed and strong at 5 o'clock.
The sun wasn't out yet in this part, but it was only a matter of half an hour.
Yuna wasn't present in the camp, but Starry was eating fish and fruits she had gathered near the camp.
She even offered some to Alfred, though Alfred wasn't hungry.
John laughed looking at the exchange between them, and went to wash his face first.
Removing his long robe that he 'received' from a student, t-shirt, and trousers, John finished bathing using a powder he made from crushing seeds of a flower, which dissolves into soap-like foams and cleans the body.

John also washed his clothes while bathing.
Afterward, John went back to his shack and wore the crude leaf clothes he had made when he made some for Yuna.
John hung his clothes to dry afterward and whistled at Alfred.
"Alright, buddy. It's time for early morning."
"Woof!"
"Hey, Starry, you wanna join us?"
"Reeeeeh!"
