Journey to the West: I have Nine Golden Crows Inside Me-Chapter 1593: One thousand forty-four Quantitative Calamities_2
Chapter 1593: One thousand forty-four Quantitative Calamities_2
"Upper Qing Saints speak sensibly; this choice bears on the future of the Prehistoric World. The path we choose must be invincible. If it cannot defeat even its competitors, then what is its purpose?"
The words of the Upper Qing Saints truly resonated with the Taoist Ancestors, who nodded solemnly in agreement.
The path that can lead the Prehistoric World to become an Eternal World must be the strongest. Since a choice must be made, it should be made on this criterion.
To understand what is stronger between reshaping the Prehistoric World and creating the Immortal World, let them fight. Only through a test can we tell whether it’s a mule or a horse.
"Leading the side of reshaping the Prehistoric World is Jiang Chen. Leading the side of creating the Immortal World is a Taoist friend from Dongsheng Divine Continent. Fittingly, both are the protagonists in this Human Race’s contest of Fate."
"Since that’s the case, let the future direction of the Prehistoric World also be a stake in this contest of Fate. The victorious side will not only gain control over the Human Race but also the future of the Prehistoric World."
Considering the current situation of the Prehistoric World, the Taoist Ancestor made a decision.
If the two matters were unrelated, then it would be fine to leave them separate. But now that they have coincided, there’s no need to differentiate; they can be resolved simultaneously. In doing so, we save the trouble and reduce the impact on the Prehistoric World.
After all, two such consecutive great battles involving many Great Divine Transcendents would heavily impact the already turbulent Prehistoric World, which might not withstand it. This could potentially lead to the destruction of the Three Realms.
"Ah, this..."
Hearing the arrangement of the Taoist Ancestors, the four Saints of Mystic Sect had yet to react when the faces of the two Saints from the west drastically changed, and they couldn’t help but interrupt:
"Taoist Ancestor, this must not be!"
The urgency on their faces was as though the decision of the Taoist Ancestor was extremely detrimental to them.
"What objections do you have?"
The Taoist Ancestor frowned impatiently, looking towards the two Westerners with displeasure. He did not expect these two to dare to contradict him.
On the other hand, hearing the voices of the two Western Saints, the four Saints of Mystic Sect were also extremely dissatisfied. Where was this place? The Holy Land of Mystic Sect! It certainly wasn’t their place to speak up.
How utterly presumptuous; perhaps they have been too kind to them recently, causing them to forget their place.
"Taoist Ancestor, this is inappropriate!"
Despite everyone’s discontent, Saint Zhunti perceived it but, considering the consequences of the matter, he spoke up resolutely.
"What is inappropriate about it?"
There was no need for Hongjun Daizu to speak, as Primordial Heavenly Sovereign already took the initiative to question.
"If it were an ordinary time, such arrangements by the Taoist Ancestor would naturally pose no issue. But currently, we are in the midst of a Quantitative Calamity, and cosmic secrets are deeply disturbed."
"Now, adding to the contest of the Human Race’s Fate and the future of the Prehistoric World, should these three explode together, they would certainly conflate into one, giving rise to an unprecedented calamity of Heaven and Earth."
"Therefore, please reconsider, Taoist Ancestor, and do not rush to combine matters."
Saint Zhunti spoke with empathy for the world.
What he spoke of was very likely to happen; we are now in the early stage of the Immeasurable Kalpa, so any subtle change in the world could provoke an abnormality in the Quantitative Calamity.
Both matters brought up by the Taoist Ancestor could lead to the destruction of Heaven and Earth. If these events coincide with the Quantitative Calamity, one could only imagine the chaos that would ensue.
The power of the Calamity would surge manifold, spreading throughout the entire Chaos World and enveloping countless Living Beings.
It is foreseeable that this calamity would involve at least a hundred Great Divine Transcendents. If they were to fight, the consequences would be far more severe than the cataclysmic Witch-Demon Wars.
"This..."
Upon hearing Saint Zhunti’s concerns, all were taken by surprise. This wasn’t merely likely to happen; it was inevitable.
Considering the consequences of these three major events colliding, even the mighty Saints couldn’t help but feel a chill down their spines.
If that were truly the case, there would not be any need for Pangu Great God to take action, as the Chaos World would soon perish at their hands.
"Heh heh!"
All of a sudden, the Saint of Taiqing looked at Zhunti Saint and let out a cold laugh, his gaze brimming with intrigue, making Zhunti Saint incredibly uneasy.
Zhunti Saint’s worries were indeed real, but what he was perhaps truly concerned about was not the beings of Heaven and Earth, but the interests of the Western religion.
If three major events were to collide and evolve into a new Quantitative Calamity, then the previously decided Tribulation of Journey to the West would become a complete joke. And without the Tribulation of Journey to the West, how could the Western religion possibly claim a great prosperity?
To prevent the opportunity for the great rise of the Western religion from disappearing, even at a great cost, Zhunti Saint would still have to grit his teeth and try to prevent this event from occurring.
The Saint of Taiqing understood this and thus let out a cold laugh. However, despite his cold laughter, he did not cling to grilling Zhunti Saint about it but eerily maintained silence.
The one who made the same choice as him was also the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign.
There was nothing surprising about it, for the so-called Tribulation of Journey to the West and the flourishing of the Buddhist door were benefits granted by the Saint of Taiqing and the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign to the two Western sages, in return for their help in breaking the Immortal Slaying Formation.
Without such benefits, how could the two Western sages possibly have aided the Saint of Taiqing and the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign against the Upper Qing Saints during the Investiture of the Gods?
Since these were promises they themselves had made, the Saint of Taiqing and the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign could neither openly obstruct nor agree with them. They were left with no choice but to keep silent out of necessity.
"Isn’t this a good thing?"
"One point you have misunderstood is that the mightier the Quantitative Calamity, the worse it is for the Prehistoric World. On the contrary, the stronger the Quantitative Calamity, the more benefits it brings to the Prehistoric World."
"The main reason for the eruption of a Quantitative Calamity is the ever-increasing karmic forces and causal connections between Heaven and Earth, which become endlessly entangled and insoluble, even impacting the operation of Heaven and Earth."
Out of necessity, the Heavenly Dao had to initiate a Quantitative Calamity between Heaven and Earth, to clear away all the karmic forces and causal connections in one go, in order to alleviate its own burden.
"In such a case, the mightier the Quantitative Calamity, the more karmic forces and causal connections it clears away, and the lesser the burden on Heaven and Earth, which could indeed be considered to have many benefits."
"This excessively strong Quantitative Calamity can be seen as a good thing, not only clearing away the causal relationships accumulated over the years but also simultaneously ridding of past unresolved causal relationships, to ease the burden on Heaven and Earth."
The Taoist Ancestors don’t see the exceptionally strong might of the Quantitative Calamity as a bad thing, and indeed it is not.
A weaker Quantitative Calamity can indeed result in fewer lost lives, but at the same time, too few deaths would hardly serve to clear away karmic forces and causal relationships.
Once or twice may still be alright, but if it happens too often, the karmic forces and causal relationships could accumulate together and easily trigger the Immeasurable Kalpa prematurely.
Indeed, a mighty Quantitative Calamity can postpone the arrival of the Immeasurable Kalpa. Conversely, a weak Quantitative Calamity would hasten this process.
Compared to the Immeasurable Kalpa, the Quantitative Calamity of Heaven and Earth is nothing to speak of; so even if the Calamity is severe, the Taoist Ancestors can easily accept it.
"Taoist Ancestor..."
From the words of the Taoist Ancestor, Zhunti Saint sensed his resolute determination, but he still wanted to attempt something. The price they paid in the West for the Tribulation of Journey to the West was too great, it was simply an irreplaceable loss.
Indeed, it must be admitted that the scale of the Tribulation of Journey to the West is very small, akin to child’s play, clearing away hardly any causal relationships.
But what of it? A minor Quantitative Calamity hardly affects anything. At worst, the next Quantitative Calamity could be more severe, but why cancel it outright?
Boom!
Zhunti Saint wanted to say more, but before he could speak, from deep in the Chaos, a sudden burst of thunderous noise rang out.
Upon hearing it, everyone was shocked and looked in the direction from whence the thunder came. They saw deep in the Chaos, endless flashes of lightning, tangible rules emerging and interweaving, forming mysterious Dao patterns.
Seeing this scene, Jieyin and Zhunti, the two Saints, truly wanted to cry without tears. This was a cosmic resonance; following the Taoist Ancestor’s words, it was an automatic process driven by Heaven and Earth to shape a new Quantitative Calamity.
The Tribulation of Journey to the West might still be called the Tribulation of Journey to the West, but its scale will exponentially expand countless times over and it will also slip completely out of the Western religion’s control. Or rather, no one could control this Quantitative Calamity, and all beings between Heaven and Earth were within its grasp.
