Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 42: The Youth in Purple Clothes
"Finally finished with the brewing; it’s so refreshing!" Chen Nuo stepped out of the shop, stretching lazily. The territory of Chaos Residence was no longer confined to the interior of the house; as his cultivation improved, the area of his domain had significantly expanded.
"They say fairies descend to the mortal world, but why haven’t I seen even one?" Chen Nuo thought boredly. The only woman who had come here was Yang Chan, but she lives at the Guan River Mouth, in the mortal world for sure!
"Hm? What’s this?"
Chen Nuo squinted, looking at the purple streak of light falling towards Mount Fangcun.
"Is that a shooting star? No, that can’t be; this world doesn’t seem to have shooting stars. Could it really be a fairy descending?"
Chen Nuo looked bewildered. Even though he was invincible within the bounds of Chaos Residence, he couldn’t make things happen just by speaking.
Before Chen Nuo could think more, the streak of light crashed into the earth, shaking even the ground beneath his feet.
Chen Nuo’s eyelids twitched. Goodness, this fairy’s got some heft to her.
"Shopkeeper Chen, what’s happening?" The voice of the Bull Demon King came from inside the shop.
"Nothing much; just keep on brewing," Chen Nuo said, walking towards the crater.
The force of the impact had sheared off several nearby trees.
Before the dust had settled, a hand covered in black ash clutched at the edge of the crater.
"So there really is someone alive!"
If the location and the light weren’t wrong, he might have thought it was Sun Wukong, who had just left and, after having too much to drink, went straight to create Havoc in Heaven, kicking Lord Taishang’s Alchemy Furnace down here.
The person climbed up and walked out of the crater. Chen Nuo took a good look and was instantly dumbfounded. This guy was rougher than any burly man!
"Brother, are you alright?" With the principle that anyone showing up at Mount Fangcun could potentially become a client, Chen Nuo asked.
The young man in purple looked at Chen Nuo and said, "Where is this?"
"This is Mount Fangcun at the Mountain of Mind and Heart, Chaos Residence," Chen Nuo replied indifferently.
Falling from such a great height and apparently unharmed, this person was definitely not a mortal.
The youth frowned, not expecting to have landed in the territory of Buddhism, which was annoying.
But then he thought, at this point, Buddhism was probably not there anymore. But what was this Chaos Residence?
He had never heard of this place; could it be some minor Immortal Clan’s cave abode?
The youth sized up Chen Nuo, the murkiness in his eyes dissipating somewhat, replaced by surprise; he couldn’t see through this young man’s cultivation.
"Chaos Residence, what is it?" the youth asked expressionlessly.
"It’s a restaurant I run. Would you like to come in for a meal?"
"Got any wine?" The young man’s voice was hoarse. He had just had a jug of wine, which was gone in no time.
Chen Nuo’s eyebrows raised slightly; this person’s timing couldn’t be more perfect.
"Yes, follow me," he said.
Watching Chen Nuo’s composed figure, a touch of excitement appeared in the youth’s eyes; it was the first time someone had spoken to him this way.
Quite interesting. And so, he took steps to follow Chen Nuo.
"This is the place," Chen Nuo said, pointing at Chaos Residence in front of them.
The youth looked up and saw the imposing characters for Chaos Residence, then glanced at Chen Nuo, an unspoken respect welling inside him.
This man was even more formidable than he had been, but the more formidable one was, the more tragic their end tended to be.
It seemed the youth remembered something painful; his troubled eyes expressed anguish. What use was power when you couldn’t accomplish anything!
Upon entering the shop, the aroma of wine brought the young man back to his senses.
"Great wine!" The youth sniffed and his eyes brightened, praising sincerely.
"Of course!"
Chen Nuo bore no intention of modesty. Anything he inherited was top-notch, the strongest there is!
"Little Miss, come out for a moment and serve the guest!"
"Coming, coming!" The Bull Demon King shed his demon king armor and, dressed in the plain clothes of a waiter, jogged out from the kitchen.
When he saw the disheveled youth in front of him, his entire bovine face twisted together.
Turning his head slightly, he whispered, "Shopkeeper Chen, are you sure this guy is a guest? He looks more like a beggar to me."
Though the Bull Demon King thought he was speaking softly, his naturally loud and resonant voice meant that even when he lowered the volume, everything could still be heard loud and clear.
The youth also froze for a moment upon seeing the Bull Demon King, recognizing him only by his aura. He couldn’t help but laugh helplessly, thinking, Little Bull, you seem to be regressing the more you live.
"Little Bull, remember, looks can be deceiving, and you can’t measure the sea," Chen Nuo cautioned.
"Fine!" The youth sighed after hearing this.
The Bull Demon King knew he was in the wrong.
"Sorry."
Muttering quietly to himself, he turned around and placed the menu in front of the youth, "Sir, take a look, these are all our signature dishes."
However, the youth was not interested and said indifferently, "Take it away, I’m only here to drink. Bring out your best wine!"
"You!" The Bull Demon King’s face darkened with displeasure, for although he had become Shopkeeper Chen’s waiter, the dignity he once had as a demon king remained intact.
Just as the Bull Demon King was about to lose his temper, he was stopped by Chen Nuo’s outstretched hand.
"We only have one kind of wine, but it is the best in the Three Realms," Chen Nuo said leisurely.
"Quite confident, then bring out the wine," the youth said expressionlessly.
Chen Nuo pointed toward the crystal ball, "Sir, please pay first. Put your palm on it, and you’ll find out how much you need to pay."
The youth, without asking further, did as instructed. Receiving the feedback from the crystal ball, he was stunned.
He couldn’t have imagined that such a peculiar magic artifact existed in the world.
A magic artifact of a Taiyi Golden Immortal? A pot of wine worth such a high-level artifact?
If it were the old him, he would have scoffed and walked away, but what significance did a magic artifact have for him now?
He laughed at himself mockingly, "Shopkeeper, is it possible to overpay, instead of underpay?"
"Of course," Chen Nuo said, puzzled, not sure what the strange man was planning to do.
But the very next moment, he understood.
"Ding, congratulations, Host, for obtaining the Innate Spirit Treasure, Heaven-Swallowing Cover. As per the ratio, it equates to twenty times the payment, do you wish to convert?"
"Damn, an Innate Spirit Treasure!"
Chen Nuo kept his face unreadable, but his heart was tremendously shocked. Just who was this man, casually producing an Innate Spirit Treasure?
Aside from his own independently evolved treasure over the past ten years, this was his first time encountering an Innate Spirit Treasure.
"Do not convert!" Chen Nuo thought to himself resolutely. At the very least, he should enjoy it before converting it!
"Little Miss, bring the wine!" Chen Nuo called out.
The Bull Demon King nodded, but there was a trace of confusion in his eyes. He felt that the magic artifact the strange man had just given felt vaguely familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it.
Shaking his head, he didn’t think any more of it and went to the kitchen to get the wine.
"Who came in?" the Roc Demon King, who was tidying up the kitchen as per Chen Nuo’s instructions, asked curiously.
"I’m not sure, he just came to drink. He won’t even eat the food Shopkeeper Chen made!"
"What?!" The Roc Demon King’s eyes widened. Not eating Shopkeeper Chen’s dishes, only wanting to drink? Isn’t that a waste of good food?
He had been looking forward to this meal every day, and there it was, untouched!
"Who knows!" The Bull Demon King picked up a bottle of already packaged Peach Blossom Brew and walked out.
