Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 574 - 573: Ancient Fast food
"Mr. Monkey, isn’t there another layer below?" Tian Peng asked.
As soon as he mentioned it, Sun Wukong noticed and quickly opened the food container below, taking out the twenty-inch pizza.
"Wow, such a big pie! What’s this called, and why are all the fillings on the outside?" Tian Peng inquired.
"There’s definitely a special explanation for this. If you don’t know, you dumbass, then don’t talk," Sun Wukong said, "Hurry up, eat! This was specially made for you by master, too much blabbering!"
Although Tian Peng didn’t get the upper hand when talking with Sun Wukong, he felt uneasy if he didn’t talk back.
He said, "You talk as if there’s none for you, Mr. Monkey. If you’re not eating, I’ll finish it all."
Sun Wukong smacked Tian Peng on the head, "Did I say I wasn’t going to eat? It’s just that I’m honoring you, dummy!"
In the face of delicious food, there’s no reason to keep talking without eating. Sun Wukong and Tian Peng had already grabbed a burger each and stuffed them into their mouths.
The burgers were filled with beef.
The beef patty was made from ground beef. Large chunks of meat would feel awkward in the texture of the burger, so Chen Nuo decided to use ground beef for the patties.
Even so, as the patty cooked, a lot of juice flowed out from it, but the lettuce underneath served as a barrier so it did not soak into the bread.
Taking a bite, the bread was soft, and the patty was juicy with a rich aroma.
The tomato slices and lettuce inside did a good job of masking the gamey taste of the meat, and with the unique flavor of the salad dressing, it was most tempting.
Tian Peng and Sun Wukong were even at a loss for words to express their praise, especially Tian Peng, who had been eating dry rations in the mortal world for a good half year.
Apart from dry rations, it was just plain water. It wasn’t easy to get a warm meal, and even those paled in comparison. After tasting true delicacies, everything else seemed like husks to him.
He finished his burger in four or five bites. Although they were large, he did not choke, but to cleanse the residual taste in his mouth, Tian Peng still took a sip of iced milk tea in preparation for the next delicious treat.
After the milk tea, Tian Peng looked at the items in the food container and finally decided to target that twenty-inch pizza.
Having worked at Chaos Residence for so long, he had never seen pizza, but since it was already cut into slices, it wasn’t a problem to eat even such a large pie.
He initially only reached out with one hand to take a slice, but as he lifted the crust, the cheese began to stretch.
Tian Peng was stunned, "Isn’t the pie cut properly? Why is it like this?"
"You fool, can’t you hold it higher?" Sun Wukong said.
After saying this, Sun Wukong himself also took a slice beside Tian Peng and was likewise taken aback.
The quality of the cheese was so good that it would still stretch even when held high. Both of them were puzzled about how to eat it when they couldn’t even separate the slices.
With no alternative, Sun Wukong and Tian Peng had to put the pizza back and turn their attention to other foods.
Sun Wukong grabbed a handful of chips and stuffed them into his mouth. The chips were fried to a perfect crisp and each one was evenly seasoned. The crunchiness hit the brain directly, causing Sun Wukong to pause, dumbfounded.
"This is strange. How can this thing have such a texture? I thought the fries master made last time were tasty enough, but this is even better," he mused.
Hearing Sun Wukong say this, Tian Peng also grabbed a handful of chips and put them in his mouth.
The chips were originally crisp, but due to Tian Peng’s strong grip, many were crushed before he even got them to his mouth, which, nonetheless, did not affect their deliciousness in the least.
Indeed, after he finished eating, he too expressed the same admiration as Sun Wukong, "Wow, this thing is so delicious, and so crispy, what on earth is this?"
Sun Wukong smacked his lips, picked up another slice, and put it into his own mouth. After chewing, he exclaimed in surprise, "This is a potato! I was wondering, the fries are delicious, and this, also made from potatoes, can actually turn into two completely different kinds of gourmet delight!"
"This is actually a potato?" Tian Peng was also shocked beyond belief.
Who would have thought that such a small potato could create such a delicacy? The shopkeeper was beyond astonished, this was even more impressive than immortals!
There weren’t many chips, and soon Tian Peng and Sun Wukong had finished them off, munching away one after the other. After that, Tian Peng’s demonic claw reached for the chicken wings.
Chen Nuo had made fried chicken before, but later, many other delicious foods overshadowed it. Tian Peng bit into the crunchy skin, and couldn’t help but let out a sigh of satisfaction.
"It really is too delicious!"
Chicken legs and wings were made in the same way, but the meat of the wings was even more tender.
However, accordingly, the wings had much less meat than the legs, which highlighted the advantage of the legs at this moment—more and thicker meat. Taking a bite filled your mouth with meat; it was incredibly satisfying.
"Mr. Monkey, chicken legs are indeed delicious," said Tian Peng.
"What’s the matter? Only chicken legs are delicious, are you saying chicken wings aren’t?" asked Sun Wukong.
Tian Peng hurriedly denied it, "No, Mr. Monkey, I wasn’t saying the wings aren’t delicious, just that there’s too little meat on them. I’d barely had two bites when they were gone. A rough fellow like me is more suited to gnawing on chicken legs, lots of meat, too much for one bite, hehe."
Sun Wukong gave him a look, "You have no ambition. Just stick to chicken legs for the rest of your life!"
Tian Peng didn’t take the bait and simply continued to wolf down his chicken leg.
The two of them cleaned out all the food in the upper layer of the box, but none of them touched the stuff below.
When Chen Nuo came in, he saw Tian Peng and Sun Wukong puzzling over the pizza and was about to speak up.
Then he saw both Tian Peng and Sun Wukong grabbing pieces of pizza and starting to munch away, the cheese still on top, inseparable, so they had to pull apart and eat at a distance.
At this scene, Chen Nuo simply raised an eyebrow, thinking the quality of the cheese was really not bad, almost a meter apart and still connected.
Tian Peng and Sun Wukong didn’t notice Chen Nuo’s arrival, focusing only on the food in front of them.
It was a pity the cheese was of such good quality, tenaciously stretchy, but thankfully, there came a time when it snapped; otherwise, eating while pulling strings of cheese felt rather odd.
What first entered the mouth was the top layer that had been toasted to a crisp, with the edges of the pizza being especially crunchy, making a crackling sound when bitten.
At that moment, Tian Peng only wished he had more than one mouth, for one pizza was not enough for him alone.
Though Sun Wukong spent every day and night in Chaos Residence, he was not much more restrained than Tian Peng.
He had eaten Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, fried rice with eggs, and hotpot before, but upon tasting this pizza which he had never tried before, he experienced an unfamiliar thrill of novelty.
How could something so delicious exist—a half-filled pie that yielded such a wondrous taste!
Not only was the crust delicious, but the relentless stretchy substance on the outside was also delectable.
The cheesy flavor was rich, enveloping the sauce and vegetables, creating an exquisite sensation in the mouth!
Tian Peng and Sun Wukong ate with abandon, neither one noticing Chen Nuo had already arrived at their side.
