Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 99: Nezha Stealing the Skirt
The loom started to operate, and long lengths of cloth once again cascaded down.
Yet, he still lacked the courage to ask for women’s clothing.
Nezha was somewhat disinterested, and turned to leave, but the sight of the row of dresses by the store entrance stirred an irrepressible desire for increased strength within him.
He surreptitiously glanced at the Weaver Girl, only to find that she had bowed her head, intently focused on making clothes.
With a determined heart, he grabbed a dress, stashed it, and then fled the scene as if escaping.
Some time later, a royal maid walked in and asked, "Princess, are the dresses ready?"
Without looking up, and still busily working, the Weaver Girl softly replied, "This batch is finished, please check them."
"The Princess is always meticulous, the count is surely correct," the maid spoke with conviction.
"Better check anyway, since they’re needed for the harem; if the count is off, the blame won’t be pleasant."
Hearing this, the maid nodded and began to check each one.
It took quite a while to count them all.
"Princess, one is missing," the maid said, a touch of panic in her voice, yet also sighing in relief, as if having narrowly escaped disaster.
If a mistake had been made due to carelessness, the Princess might not have any trouble, but she certainly would have.
Hearing this, the Weaver Girl stopped her work and looked up slightly stunned—how could that be? She had kept count as she worked.
Although she had said to check, it had just been a casual remark.
Suddenly, the Weaver Girl thought of Nezha, who had recently visited, and how, when faced with the little dress she offered, his first reaction was not to resist.
But what she had seen in his eyes was a deep longing.
Then the embarrassment turned into rage when he realized what he desired.
Curving her lips into a smile, she had a guess in her mind.
Speaking softly, she said, "No matter, I’ll just make another one; you can step down."
The maid nodded, preparing to leave the inner hall.
"Wait, wait!" the Weaver Girl suddenly called out to the maid.
Looking at the somewhat puzzled face of the maid, the Weaver Girl smiled and said, "Fetch me some more of the finest new fabric, and make sure it has a beautiful pattern."
"Yes," the maid complied and left.
The Weaver Girl watched as the palace door was gently closed, a playful glint in her eyes, surprised to find that the Third Prince was such a person.
She chuckled softly, her laughter echoing like the whisper of butterflies in the silent great hall.
In that case, she would fulfill his wish.
She just wondered what kind of reaction the Third Prince would have upon receiving this generous gift.
Meanwhile, Nezha, who had stolen the dress, was feeling like a guilty thief and sped back to the Heavenly King’s Mansion as fast as his feet could carry him.
He rushed into his room, his heart inexplicably pounding. Even when he had been found out for doing bad things in the past, he had never felt this nervous.
"Change clothes!" he cried out in his heart, tensely.
Whoosh!
A flash of white light, and the battle skirt Nezha was wearing was gone, replaced by the plain long dress.
Even his hairstyle changed to shoulder-length long hair.
He appeared like the lady in the painting, refined and otherworldly, albeit slightly immature.
And the dress was a bit too long, dragging on the ground.
"Plain white dye sleeve-drawing skirt."
"Grade: High-grade low-tier."
"Abilities: Training speed tripled, mana recovery speed doubled, attack power doubled, two stages of aptitude improved (current aptitude: Daluo Golden Immortal, mid-stage)."
Holy shit!
Nezha’s eyes widened in shock. This was way too awesome, right?
But before Nezha could continue to marvel, there was a loud bang, and the door opened.
"Nezha, quickly follow me to subdue... a demon?"
The voice entered before the person did, but upon seeing the figure inside, Li Jing was completely baffled.
With stunning beauty, a face that could overthrow cities, a petite figure, swaying gracefully.
Despite the entrancing appearance, the older Li Jing, after a moment of confusion, still realized that something was off. Who is this?
Li Jing, with a face full of question marks, took a half step back and looked up at the nameplate. It was Nezha’s room, wasn’t it?
Nezha was completely dumbfounded, his head buzzing. He had been caught red-handed!
"That, listen to me, I!" Nezha blurted out with urgency, trying to explain his cross-dressing behavior.
After all, Li Jing was usually strict. If he found out about him wearing women’s clothes, a tour around the Exquisite Tower for a week was definitely inescapable.
"Who are you? What audacity you have to barge into my mansion!" Li Jing’s face turned stern, and he spoke in a deep voice.
Clearly, Li Jing did not recognize Nezha, but he was certain that this was not one of his maidservants, since their outfits were different.
Seeing how Li Jing looked ready to start a fight at any disagreement, Nezha, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief.
Whew, he didn’t recognize me at all!
Twirling his eyeballs, Nezha recalled the manners of the maidservants at the Weaver Girl Palace when they saw him and bowed.
He gave a graceful bow, mimicking the gesture.
"Greetings, Heavenly King Li."
Since Nezha’s voice hadn’t changed yet, and now that he pinched his throat while speaking combined with that action, he did resemble a little maidservant.
Gazing with two bright and pitiful eyes, Nezha said somewhat aggrievedly, "The servant was just on the way to the Weaver Girl Palace to deliver fabric, but unexpectedly, I was stopped by the Third Prince, who wanted to play hide-and-seek or something."
"The servant didn’t understand, but I dared not defy the Third Prince’s wishes and was brought over here."
Nezha breathed a sigh of relief inwardly. Ah well, for now, he would just take the blame himself.
This small matter would most likely result in just a half-day trip to the Exquisite Tower at most.
"You troublemaker!" Li Jing cursed, always causing trouble and even bringing the bad habits of mortal children to Heavenly Mountain!
Interrupting official business like that, truly reckless and foolhardy!
The reason for his disdain towards this youngest son was first, the deep-seated impression of him being a meatball at birth, and second, this rebellious and troublesome nature.
In contrast, Jin Zha and Muzha were more reassuring, causing no trouble and even following their master into Buddhism, with limitless prospects ahead!
Li Jing’s face showed a trace of apology. "Sorry, the boy is mischievous and made you laugh, miss. You needn’t bother with this matter any longer. Return to your duties. When my son returns, I will punish him severely!"
Normally, Li Jing would not pay attention to a just a little maidservant, even if she was quite attractive.
But what Nezha mentioned involved official duties that could not be delayed, which was why he was so accommodating.
"Thank you very much, Heavenly King Li," Nezha said with a smile, nodding his head and walking out sprightly.
However, passing by Li Jing, his back was sweating with nervousness.
Fortunately, after disguising himself, there was still a noticeable difference from his usual appearance, and he also used a feminine voice. Plus, Li Jing didn’t pay much attention to him on a regular basis, so in the end, he wasn’t recognized.
Leaving the Heavenly King’s Mansion in a hurry, Nezha found a secluded spot.
"Disguise," Nezha murmured to himself, and after a flash of white light, he reverted to his usual attire.
He strutted back into the Heavenly King’s Mansion and headed towards his own room.
Sure enough, Li Jing was still there, furious.
"Nezha, why have you caused trouble again!" Li Jing frowned and started with a scolding remark.
Nezha snorted lightly, acting unconcerned, and said, "I was bored and just playing around."
"You’re mischievous yourself, and yet you insist on dragging that poor girl along with you. She has important tasks to attend to!" Li Jing scolded angrily.
Watching Nezha’s carefree demeanor, Li Jing was even more infuriated, but remembering the decree recently issued by the Heavenly Court, he managed to suppress his rage.
