Journey to the West: Sun Wukong's Advice System-Chapter 210: Agreement
Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Agreement
Western Mount Meru, Mahavira Hall.
Jia Ye recounted their experience of establishing temples and preaching in Chang’an City, and finally sighed, "Disciple has failed the heavy trust and has mishandled the important Buddhist matters. Please, Ancestor Buddha, punish me."
Inside the Mahavira Hall was a total silence, as Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Golden Immortals, and Holy Monks all looked at each other in bewilderment. Why Sun Wukong again? Could it be that this Great Sage Equalling Heaven was the calamity of the Buddha Sect?
But now, even the Buddha Sect had no way to deal with him.
Sun Wukong was not only a high-ranking and powerful Ziwei Great Emperor, but his strength was also comparable to that of top Quasi-Saints.
Everyone inevitably pondered, but no good solutions came to mind, and eventually, they all looked towards the upper part of the hall.
Sitting high on the Nine-leaf Golden Lotus Platform, Ancestor Buddha had a majestic face showing neither sorrow nor joy, and he slowly said, "All things must go through hardships and trials to show their true preciousness, and promoting Buddhism is the same.
If these matters were easy to accomplish, who would cherish and value the Buddhist Law?"
The monks looked at each other, clearly understanding that Ancestor Buddha would not blame Jia Ye, but they had to agree with his meaningful words.
"Ancestor Buddha, Supreme One Anan has not returned," Bodhisattva Guanyin said with one hand raised in salute. "May I travel to the Heavenly Court and bring Anan back?"
"He forgot the upright and proper way, and it is also his calamity," said Ancestor Buddha. "Once his calamity is fulfilled, I will personally lead him back."
The monks then felt relieved and no longer doubted.
Afterward, Ancestor Buddha, Supreme One Jia Ye, and Bodhisattva Guanyin moved to a smaller hall behind and took their seats.
"Does anyone know the whereabouts of the Dragon King of Jing River?" Ancestor Buddha asked.
"Reporting to Ancestor Buddha," with palms pressed together, Supreme One Jia Ye said, "The soul of the Dragon King of Jing River was personally hidden by me; it is impossible for others to discover it."
"What if someone does know?" Ancestor Buddha inquired.
"Then we would have a minor fault, not a major one," Supreme One Jia Ye replied with a slight smile.
"Well said," Ancestor Buddha gently nodded.
Bodhisattva Guanyin sat on the side; she understood the dialogue between this master and disciple but had made her choice and could only remain silent.
Jia Ye continued, "Ancestor Buddha, although the establishment of the temple and preaching faced setbacks, the disciple has other new discoveries."
He then detailed the impending decline of the Han dynasty’s fate and Wang Mang’s situation, and added, "This person has the destiny of an emperor and is greatly renowned as a benevolent man of the Han dynasty.
If we could support him as emperor and establish a new Human Race dynasty, and with his help to anchor our Buddha Sect in the Southern Continent, then the Buddhist Law would certainly flourish."
Ancestor Buddha said, "Then you shall handle this matter. Remember not to use Divine Skills to avoid violating the rules set by the Dao Ancestor."
"Disciple will heed carefully," Jia Ye responded reverently.
After Divine Enthronement, Dao Ancestor had made it a rule that celestial beings should not interfere with the succession of the Human Race dynasties.
However, if they used mortal means to assist Wang Mang, it would not be a problem.
Buddhist Law encourages kindness, which aligns perfectly with a benevolent man like Wang Mang. Once it spreads among the Human Race, it will certainly establish the strongest dynasty in the history of the Human Race!
Guanyin remained silent by the side, knowing that sometimes persuasion was useless, especially when others were stubbornly in delusion. They had to experience it firsthand.
...
Southern Continent, Chenliu County, Jiyang County House.
That day, the wife of the County Magistrate Liu Qin was giving birth, and a red light illuminated the entire room.
Liu Qin sought out the divining master, Priest Sun, to ask what this phenomenon signified.
Priest Sun divined in their presence, stroked his beard, and said, "It is a fortunate event, no need to say more."
Shortly after, at the spot in front of Liu Qin’s house where the medicinal herb Sedum grew, three stalks of millet sprouted, each with nine ears, each a foot or two longer than ordinary millet, a rare sight in the world.
Liu Qin went for divination again.
Priest Sun laughed and said, "The blooming and fruiting of crops represent excellence; your son should be named Xiu." freewёbnoνel.com
Liu Qin was pleased and named his son who had just been born Liu Xiu.
"This child is indeed favored by fortune." After Sun Wukong personally inspected little Liu Xiu’s condition, he was relieved and knew he had found the right person.
Then he left a strand of his spiritual hair as a clone to continue guarding there as Daoist Sun.
Meanwhile, his true form returned to the Heavenly Court to meet with the Jade Emperor.
Inside Tongming Hall.
The Jade Emperor expressed satisfaction with Sun Wukong’s recent venture to the lower realm and handled the things Sun Wukong could not.
However, at this time Sun Wukong had no more titles to be bestowed, so he could only be granted other rewards.
"The Star Lord of Martial Virtue violated the celestial laws and has been cast down to the mortal realm," the Jade Emperor said. "Sun Wukong, who do you think could command the imperial guards?"
Without hesitation and scratching his head with a chuckle, Sun Wukong replied, "Hehe, Old Sun thinks Commander Fei Peng of the Gen Division of the Earthly Fiends can shoulder this responsibility. He is of the Golden Immortal level and fulfills his duties with utmost loyalty."
The Jade Emperor was somewhat surprised, having anticipated that Sun Wukong would recommend Ao Lie. It was unexpected that he would pass such a good opportunity to a heavenly general.
Nevertheless, he nodded, "Then promote Fei Peng to the rank of Divine General to command the Heavenly Guards."
Sun Wukong bowed with a smile.
The Jade Emperor then asked, "The whereabouts of the Jing River Dragon King remain unknown, have you found anything in the lower realm?"
"This matter is not urgent. Your Majesty, just wait a bit longer," Sun Wukong said with a smile. "Old Sun is here for another important matter to discuss."
The Jade Emperor’s expression changed slightly, and he tapped on the desktop, "What important matter?"
Sun Wokong continued, "Regarding the incompleteness of the Earthly and Human Paths which Your Majesty mentioned last time, Old Sun now has a solution."
The hand of the Jade Emperor visibly paused.
Tai Bai Jin Xing also could hardly hide his shock.
A moment later, Sun Wukong left Tongming Hall and headed to the Zi Wei star.
In his capacity as Ziwei Great Emperor, he summoned heavenly figures like Corner Wood Jiao, Upper Gold Dragon, Kui Mulang, Heart Moon Fox, and other twenty-eight lodestars, commanding them to reincarnate to assist the wise emperors of the human realm.
The twenty-eight Star Lords, already under the command of Ziwei Great Emperor, and having great trust in Sun Wukong, immediately accepted the order and descended to the lower realm.
"The Grand Dao Ancestor’s position is unclear and now even the Jade Emperor’s stance is ambiguous," Sun Wukong pondered in Purple Tenuity Palace.
The matter of completing the Earthly and Human Paths surely could not be handled by him alone.
Therefore, after finding Liu Xiu, he immediately returned to the Heavenly Court to discuss the matters of upgrading the agricultural civilization and establishing a city god system with the Jade Emperor.
It was also a good opportunity to test the Jade Emperor’s attitude.
So far, the Jade Emperor definitely seems inclined to complete the Earthly and Human Paths.
However, according to prior conjectures from Zhizhu net friends, the Dao Ancestor might very likely be an antagonist, who allowed the incompleteness of the Earthly Path during the Witch-Demon calamity and suppressed the Human Path during the Divine Enthronement calamity.
"Hmm, although Old Sun’s strength has improved, I still have encountered few powerful beings and have undergone too few experiences," Sun Wukong scratched his face.
Unlike those old beings who have lived from the Ancient Primordial Era to this day, he, after all, was barely over a thousand years old, and many ancient matters were only hearsay to him, not personally experienced.
Thus, he still needed to travel more, which also presented a chance to alleviate the Buddha Sect’s vigilance, giving him an opportunity to search for the Jing River Dragon King in hell.
In the following period, Sun Wukong began traveling extensively across the Three Realms, meeting not just any associates as in his younger days in the Demon Realm, but now he met influential figures from all quarters.
Of course, he did not forget old friends, and often associated with the Demon Kings like the Ox Demon King and Jiao Demon King of the Demon Realm.
Meanwhile, Ao Lie remained in the lower realm, vigorously carrying out Sun Wukong’s instructions to search for the Jing River Dragon King and thereby confuse the Buddha Sect.
One day, under the guise of Emperor Fengdu, the Lord of the Netherworld, Sun Wukong went to Fengdu in the underworld to inspect the netherworld.
The underworld, having been calm for only a few years, stirred once more.
