"Ulp...ur...BLARGGH!"
"Oh gross! Why?!"
Lythero wasn’t unfamiliar with the concept of torture to extract information from a captured prisoner, but such methods were only used when the prisoner in question was uncooperative.
For all intents and purposes, Antonio sounded as if he was ready to share everything and punching him in the stomach in such a forceful manner was unnecessary. Especially when the man just barfed up his breakfast.
"Why did you just-?!"
"Hush up," Zhen Liu interrupted. "Look."
"What are you...what the..."
Throwing up multiple times in a row wasn’t an uncommon thing to occur when one gets smacked in the stomach, but this was something different.
After Antonio had emptied his guts, he still looked as if he was hacking up something on top of that. And whatever he was hacking back up, Lythero could see that it was physically distending not just his stomach, but his throat too.
Eventually, this weird lump reached Antonio’s mouth, which is when the reason why Zhen Liu slapped Antonio’s stomach with a palm full of [Chaos] made itself known.
In the grossest way possible.
"Blargh!"
"Oh...what the fuck is that?"
"I knew it."
When Antonio threw up this time around, a strange black worm looking thing, that was covered in toothy maws, came out of his mouth and began to wriggle to and fro before plopping on to the ground.
It looked as if it was about to crawl away, until Zhen Liu ordered the zakos to capture the wriggling creature.
"Guys?"
[Grr!]
Several of the zakos made of leaves and stone began to surround the creature in order to cut off its escape route.
They were then joined by one of the wooden zakos, who proceeded to use its abilities to create a cage to contain the wormy parasite.
Once it was imprisoned, the zakos presented the bile covered beastie for Zhen Liu and Lythero to observe in an up close and personal manner.
"What the hell am I looking at?," Lythero asked while staring at the caged worm. "And why does it radiated an aura similar to your zakos but...worse?"
"Awhile back, I once ran into this strange mechanical rat creature that turned out to be what happened when a [Chaos] empowered parasite ends up infecting a normal rat," Zhen Liu explained. "This is kind of like that, but the function is entirely different."
"It is?"
"Well for starters, that parasite was actively leaking [Chaos,] like a wine jug covered in cracks. The [Chaos] in this weird looking worm seems to be remarkably condensed," Zhen Liu continued. "Almost as if it’s purpose was to suppress [Chaos] in a way."
"Like a cultivation seal?"
"Exactly," Zhen Liu agreed. "But that part is a secondary function."
"Then what was it’s main function?," Lythero asked, while understanding that the answer he was going to get was probably deeply disturbing.
"If I had to take a guess?," Zhen Liu said as he took a closer look at the mouth covered worm. "Information redaction and replacement."
"The fuck does that mean?," Lythero asked with a confused look.

"You’re about to see," Zhen Liu enigmatically commented.
...Meanwhile, back at the Library...
<I don’t know if I should be impressed or saddened that our lord was able to deduce most of that information by just looking over this thing,> Pathos commented as he stared at the UMA parasite through the one way screen. <Is this a sign our Lord isn’t going to need us anymore soon?>
=No, because he still missed some important details about this parasite,= Logos pointed out. =And he’s about to find out that the usual method of having the kaijin hop into someone’s head is going to work this time around, the hard way.=
...Now back to the jungle...
Due to Zhen Liu’s actions, Antonio was rendered dazed and confused at the moment.
It was bad enough getting his guts smacked with an open palm, but being forced to hack up a weird looking parasite made things even worse.
Therefore, he wasn’t in the best condition to talk right now.
Under normal circumstances, he would’ve been cut down from his hanging position, have several snares and manacles placed upon him and then kept under surveillance until they were ready to talk.
Zhen Liu, however, had a different method of getting information.
...
’Blazejudicator, can you come over here for a moment? I need you for a thing.’
[Of course, Executor.]
[What about me, Caretaker?]
’Actually...yes, you come over too, Corpse Doll. I think this will be a good learning experience.’
[Yay! I’m gonna learn how to possess people, like a real ghost!]
’That...is not inaccurate.’
...
"Kaijin, to me," Zhen Liu declared before snapping his fingers.
On cue, Blazejudicator and the Corpse Doll proto-kaijin appeared from out of nowhere to stand before Zhen Liu’s side.
"Blazejudicator, would you mind?"
[As you wish, Executor.]
Following Zhen Liu’s orders, Blazejudicator turned into a wisp of flaming energy that began to float through the air and towards the dazed Antonio.
This would’ve been the part where Blazejudicator would enter Antonio’s spirit, rifle around to determine what this man’s real background and history was, and then leave to share this information with Zhen Liu and company.
However, that didn’t happen.
Instead, just as they were about to enter Antonio’s body, a weird barrier flared to life and repelled the spirit body Kaijin.
"What the fuck?"
[What the fuck?]
Needless to say, both Kaijin and Kaijin Lord were very confused at this turn of events.
"Blazejudicator, are you okay?"
"I am, Executor," Blazejudicator replied while shaking their head in disbelief and in an attempt to shake off the pain. "I just wasn’t expecting that barrier."
"Me neither..."
"Buh...huh...what?"
On the positive side, Blazejudicator’s actions had the unintended consequence of bringing Antonio back to the present.
Sort of.
"What? What happened? Where am I? Why am I hanging upside down like a rabbit in a snare trap? Am I about to be eaten by cannibals?"
"Is that normal?," Lythero asked, as he was unfamiliar with this sort of behavior.
"Hold up, can someone cut him loose?," Zhen Liu asked the zakos, who proceeded to perform the task with little hesitation.
Snap!
"Bah!"
"Thank you."
"Bleh..."
Antonio tumbled to the ground like a sack of potatoes after being cut free from the snare, but there was too much blood in his head at the moment so he wasn’t in any mood to run away or anything like that.
Of course, that might’ve also been due to the fact that his head was dealing with conflicting memories colliding into each other.
"Why does my head feel like it’s been put through a juice press?"
"Probably because your true memories are coming back to you now," Zhen Liu answered as he squatted to look down on the man. "So, you mind telling me who you are now?"
"My name is Antonio and...and..."
Antonio paused as he tried his best to recall his name, his history and the reason why he was following Dealmaker and Lythero.
The first and last items in this mental list were relatively easy to recall, but that portion about his history felt...off.
This would’ve been the part where he said he was the oldest of seven children and came from a farming family with a kind mother and stern yet fair father.
But...that wasn’t correct.
He wasn’t the oldest of seven, he had no siblings.
He didn’t come from a farm, he just remembered being in an abandoned barn next to some dilapidated field.
He didn’t even have parents, he just remembered being left alone on a starry night, staring up at the endless expanse above him.
But...he wasn’t alone for long.
[Hey now, what’s a little human doing all the way out here?]
"Bah?"
Staring down at him with eyes as wide as coins, glowing with a strange green hue, was a strange cat-like monster.
Most children would’ve started screaming or crying at the sight of this monstrous visage, but this strange baby didn’t. In fact, he looked downright joyful at the sight.
"Achoo!"
Well, in-between bouts of sneezing.
[Hmm, you’re looking kind of cold...come here!]
The strange cat monster reached down towards the child, extracting him from a barrel of all things, and gingerly held it between her arms, against the bits of fur that accentuated her chest.
[Sorry about not being able to feed ya Mama’s milk, but I wasn’t exactly built for that.]
The child didn’t seem to care about this factor though, as he began to eagerly nuzzle into the monster’s warm chest.
[Well, aren’t you adorable...hmm...it doesn’t look like you have a name...how about I call you a name I thought sounded nice not too long ago.]
[You can call yourself...]
