Chapter 2504: Someone Who Shouldn’t Be There
Zu An was surprised. He had also collected the Scorpion King’s stinger after killing him back then. He had known that the stinger contained a lethal poison, but he hadn’t expected it to be so potent as to even get the better of the Lord of Slaughter.
“Very well, very well!” The Lord of Slaughter’s complexion looked awful. “You have planned this out meticulously. Not only did the Scorpion King hand his greatest weapon to someone else, but you even put on a perfect show to deceive me. I am impressed.”
The Monster Lord smiled. “Master, you have always been mistrustful. We had to go this far to convince you.”
He thus surrounded the Lord of Slaughter with his subordinates while waiting for the poison to spread through the latter’s body. He opted for a defensive posture lest the Lord of Slaughter dragged one of them down with him in his desperate counterattack.
The Lord of Slaughter turned to the Warped Monster and asked, “What did that fellow promise you to turn against me?”
The Warped Monster had not only lost half of his body, but also faced simultaneous attacks from the Shadow Monster King and the Manipulator of Death. Had the Lord of Slaughter not intervened, he would have been dead. Even so, after losing half his body and receiving such a heavy blow, he would be weakened for many years.
Thus, the Lord of Slaughter couldn’t understand what the Warped Monster was after.

The Warped Monster wiped off his blood and chuckled. “Master, you are cruel and despotic. You are nowhere as virtuous as the Monster Lord. When so many of your old subordinates have turned against you, shouldn’t you reflect on yourself...”
Before he could finish speaking, the Lord of Slaughter rushed up to him and smashed a palm down on his head.
The Warped Monster was horrified. He anxiously lifted Little Salamay up as a shield while warping his body to dodge the attack. However, due to his severe injuries, his reaction was much slower than usual. There was no way he could dodge the Lord of Slaughter’s vengeful attack.
Pah pah pah!
The Warped Monster was shredded apart before exploding into a bloody mist. The Lord of Slaughter took this opportunity to snatch Little Salamay back from his hands. It happened so fast that no one had time to react.
The Monster Lord was stunned. “Master’s cultivation is unrivaled in this world. You remain as valiant as ever despite being inflicted with lethal poison. But channeling your bloodline power will only cause the poison to spread faster. Is there a need for that?”
“Traitors have to die!” the Lord of Slaughter spat with gritted teeth. Due to the effects of the poison, however, his breathing sounded more ragged.
The Monster Generals surrounded him while keeping their distance. Despite knowing that the Lord of Slaughter was severely poisoned, none of them dared to confront him. The Monster Lord had won this battle, but anyone who made a reckless move at this juncture could end suffering the same fate as the Warped Monster.
“Daddy, are you okay?” Little Salamay asked tearfully as she anxiously grabbed the Lord of Slaughter’s robe.
Zu An, who had been watching from the shadows, was perplexed. At this point, the Lord of Slaughter’s defeat was guaranteed, but in history, the Fiend races had suppressed him under the Sealed Land’s snow mountain. Also, according to history, Salamay was supposed to have escaped.
Furthermore, when he first came into contact with her, she'd been deceived by the Monster Lord, and it was only later that she learned about her father. But now that she had witnessed everything, how could she still be deceived by the Monster Lord even if the latter spared her life?
Were her memories altered by some method?
Zu An was worried that the alteration in history could affect those around him.
“Rest assured, I’m fine,” the Lord of Slaughter replied with a strained smile as he gently patted his daughter’s hand. Then, he turned to his enemies.
How can I escape? I'm at a disadvantage here, but I can put up one last fight. I can sacrifice my commanders to stall the enemies while I escape from here. If I gather my old subordinates, there's still a chance I can turn the tables around...
While he was thinking of a way to survive this ordeal, his body suddenly shuddered. He looked down at his chest. A bloodied little hand had pierced through it to grab his heart.
All the Monster Generals were stunned. They couldn’t understand what was going on.
The Lord of Slaughter arduously turned his head around, only to see little Salamay looking at him with an eerie smile.
Zu An was speechless. This time, even he was confused as well. The future Salamay had always been saying that she would exact vengeance for her father, but it turned out that she was the culprit instead?
However, he quickly rejected that thought. He had crossed blows with the Lord of Slaughter in the Sealed Land, so there was no way the latter would die here.
“Why?” the Lord of Slaughter asked as blood gushed out from his mouth, accompanied by bits of his innards. His eyes reflected his shock and sorrow.
Instead of answering the question, little Salamay ripped out his heart and retreated from him. Her expression began to change. “In the end, the renowned Lord of Slaughter only amounts to this much.” Her physique began to enlarge as she transformed into a blue-skinned man.
Realization dawned upon the Lord of Slaughter. “The Lord of Myriad Transformations!” He turned to the Monster Lord and exclaimed, “So this is your true hand!”
The Monster Lord chuckled. “Master, you are indeed smart, but you realized it too late.”
The Lord of Slaughter sighed in desolation. “I hadn’t expected you could win over someone as elusive as the Lord of Myriad Transformations. I deserve my loss.”
Zu An was taken aback too. The Warped Monster’s betrayal was ingenious, but to think that even that was a feint! The true killing blow was the Lord of Myriad Transformations disguised as little Salamay!
But how would the Lord of Slaughter escape this?
“The heart of an expert. Ahh, I can’t wait!” The Lord of Myriad Transformations was so excited that he swallowed the heart on the spot.
The other Monster Generals looked at him in envy, knowing that he would grow much stronger assimilating such a powerful heart.
The Lord of Myriad Transformations initially had a look of absolute bliss, but a hint of confusion soon surfaced in his eyes. “Hm?”
“What’s wrong?” The Monster Lord frowned. He instinctively sensed that a variable beyond his control had emerged, and he would hate it if anything went wrong at this point.
“I can’t put my finger on it.” The Lord of Myriad Transformations was perplexed. “I should have eaten his heart, but it doesn’t feel like it. It somehow feels... empty.”
The Lord of Slaughter harrumphed. A peculiar light suddenly shone from his body as a heart reappeared in his previously empty chest, and then his wounds began healing at a visible pace.
“Quick, let’s attack him together! He might have a way to retrieve his heart, but he should now be in his weakest ever state!” The Monster Lord lost his composure. He didn’t dare to hold back in case something went wrong.
Just then, a woman’s voice echoed from the entrance. “Bastard Zu, save my father right now if you don’t want anything to happen to your women!”
