Khalifa: Queen in the Apocalypse-Chapter 252: Catching Up
Khalifa was leisurely reading in the large sitting area of her room when the men entered.
The reading room was a comfortable area by the bay window—with a spacious sitting area—that was overlooking the seas.
Their house was the only big villa on the island, and her room was the biggest of them all. It had a super king-sized bed, a large walk-in closet, a bathroom with hot only a tub, but also a small jacuzzi.
She had her own mini-library and sitting area by the bay window. This was where she was at, drinking her tea as her delicate hand turned the pages of the new book.
Her legs bent under her legs, and her position allowed the men to see an enticing amount of thigh.
While she didn’t know who would accompany her that night (it was more fun that way), she was a bit surprised to see four.
Her eyebrows rose and they smiled at her. Kaize and Hugo took out bottles of alcohol.
"We thought Kylo and Hugo are going back tomorrow, so we thought we’d catch up a bit more."
Khalifa looked at them curiously and nodded, making the men’s shoulders slump in relief.
She gently put down her book and they settled to the carpet area of the reading nook, using the sofa’s apron to support their backs and the coffee table in front of them.
The men sat next to her, subtlety pushing each other away, but thankfully the losers didn’t fight too much, knowing what would be waiting for them later on.
The people who won the seat next to her happened to be the ones who knew alcohol best: Kaize and Hugo.
The two filled up everyone’s shot glasses as they caught up with each other, making sure Khalifa’s cup was never empty.
The first they asked was Kylo, who was very honest with his news.
The capital base was doing well the past few days, and they had implemented strict training regimes, especially to those who had awakened abilities.
During this time, there had been quite a few mobs that attacked the base with some upgraded zombies. This was the case all over the world and it was estimated that the number of safe bases would be halved during this time.
The heavy topic weighed on everyone and they ended up drinking a few more shots before they got back to the topic.
Khalifa looked at Kylo with soft eyes. "It must be sad seeing them like that."
Kylo smiled at her. "We’re just surviving in the end. Our base did merge with a few other fallen bases…"
They looked at him, a bit worried. "What are their ranks? How strong are they?"
Kylo understood their worries. He went through the Peace Base before heading here and knew the tensions that had been happening.
There, he found that a former general had been killed. It was Ryo who did it with a flick of his finger, which solidified his power as a military powerhouse. This put down any more threats, and kept the ruling party in solidarity.
He would later find out from Ryo that Khalifa did something to the rebels’ bodies so he could kill them extremely easily with his ability.
This made Khalifa a bit smug and she made a cute expression, making everyone want to kiss her senseless.
But they knew it was not the time, with Kylo finishing up his story.
"Don’t worry about them. I naturally have regulations and plans, and it will be fine even if I decide to stay here for good."
This made the other men look at him very guardedly.
Kylo ignored them and looked at her. "This would take some time of course. In the meantime, we’re already repairing the utilities and communications. It’s only a matter of time before we can use them again."
Hugo saw this and nodded. His side was doing the same. Obviously, it was only a matter of time before their communication devices could work again.
This was extremely promising. Eventually, maybe they could even get the internet back. That was far in the future, but it was hopeful to think of its possibility.
"I’ll design better defense systems for the island and the Port. The next time I get here, I’ll install them."
Hugo had already brought a few crates of his weapons to the island, in addition to the plenty more to be delivered. However, Cauis exchanged them with resources, not wanting to owe him.
The group continued to chat, a lot of which were sensitive topics that couldn’t be discussed during dinner. For example, what to develop next, who to promote, and what area to clear of zombies.
From here, it could be said that the leaders of development in the post-apocalyptic world were in this room at this time.
None of them really thought about that at this time, simply focused on catching up to each other and getting laid.
All this time, Khalifa’s cup was never empty.
She looked as Kaize filled it up again, her eyes a bit dazed and her cheeks flushed.
"Hmm, it’s like you’re purposely getting me drunk."
This made the man pause and look at her awkwardly.
"Is it working?"
"You forget my ability."
"..."
Seeing their disappointed faces, she giggled, "I haven’t done anything, nor will I do so. Fine, for today I won’t do any… cleansing."
She kinda wanted to experience being inebriated by choice anyway.
At this, she looked at the four men who were looking at her with a mix of hotness and guilt.
She understood what they were planning and sighed. 5P, eh? She’s already exhausted just thinking about it. However, she loved her men and she ought to adjust to them occasionally…
"It’s messy, but it’s been a while," she paused, and watched as the men’s body language shifted from apprehension to excitement. "...so I guess it’s okay."

Like a signal, the atmosphere completely lit up, and Khalifa knew she was in for a very hot night.
