Kill the Sun-Chapter 961 Victory Conditions
Nick learned a lot of useful things by reading the minds of the weaker aliens.
The minds of the stronger aliens were too resilient.
If he wanted to read their minds, he would need to use an amount of Zephyx that could be sensed by the Illusionists, the floating eyes.
The normal engineers were in the Fourth Realm, and they were not supposed to grow any stronger.
Zephyx was a valuable resource, and they wouldn't get more.
'I see,' Nick thought. 'That's why they are so desperate for Zephyx.'
'The Mother is at war with two other Mothers from two other tribes.'
'All three of them are at the Late Tenth Realm, and they are all trying to reach the Peak Tenth Realm.'
'The one who reaches the Peak Tenth Realm first will be the victor of the war.'
'However, this might take thousands of years. Additionally, even if one of the other tribes wins, this Zephyx generator will not vanish. Its ownership will just change hands.'
'Alternatively, if the Mother loses, they might just destroy Earth to deny the victorious tribe their resources.'
'The Amorphous Race might not have emotions, but that's because they are not true individuals.'
'They are created by the Mother for a specific purpose. They are like ants, and the Mother is the queen.'
'In a way, they are like Specters. They do not have true free will.'
'And that's also why they can't produce Zephyx themselves.'
'They need to harvest Zephyx from other organisms.'
'True individuality is needed to create Zephyx, and they do not have that.'
'A Soul, huh?' Nick thought as he went over the memories he had absorbed.
'Humanity was never sure if there was such a thing, but apparently, it is real.'
'In order to produce Zephyx, one needs a Soul.'
'Surprisingly, Souls are not very common amongst the different races of the universe.'
Nick had also learned of several other races, and most of them didn't have Souls.
'A race with a Soul is extremely valuable to races without Souls, which is why almost all races with Souls are subjugated and harvested for Zephyx.'
'Were the Ancient Ones lucky or unlucky?'
'If we didn't have Souls, the Amorphous Race might not have tried to suppress us this much.'
'But it's also possible that they would have attacked anyway, and if we didn't have Souls, they would have just wiped us out.'
Nick narrowed his eyes. freewebnσvel.cøm
'And there are more humans.'
'Mars and Venus also have humans. Apparently, the Ancient Ones have colonized these planets, and the colonies remain.'
'Mars and Venus are not as efficient as Earth due to the harsher climate, which needs constant fine-tuning.'
'The cycles are also offset.'
'While Earth's cycle has just ended, Venus' cycle is going to end within the next 2,000 years, and Mars' cycle is halfway done.'
'Their primary base is on Earth's moon, but they have security measures on Mars' and Venus' moons as well.'
'Just as expected,' Nick thought when he analyzed the security measures.
'A remainder from the Ancient Ones.'
'An antimatter laser.'
'If that thing fires at Earth, it will create a hole that goes through the entire planet, completely destroying the core and scattering the remains across space.'
Nick looked back at the General.
'He and his partner are the only problematic warriors. Other than the two of them, there is just a security squad that acts as a police force. The security squad is only in the Seventh Realm.'
'Two warriors, an antimatter laser, and the Sun stand between humanity and freedom.'
'If we can deal with that, we are most likely safe for several centuries. The Mother can't spare to send warriors in the Tenth Realm to their death while this war is going on.'
'However, freeing humanity is easier said than done,' he thought as he looked at the General again.
'His power is beyond comprehension.'
'Even if I somehow reached the Tenth Realm, it wouldn't change anything.'
'He uses Pure Energy, while I use Zephyx.'
'His baseline of power is much higher than mine.'
'I would need to reach a theoretical Eleventh Realm if I wanted to fight him evenly, and he's only in the Early Tenth Realm.'
Realizing this hurt Nick a lot.
He had expected that the aliens would be powerful, but he hadn't expected this big of a gulf.
The Nightmen would need at least 20 Peak Ninth Realm warriors just to buy some time, and that was assuming that their advancement was perfect.
There was one undeniable truth.
'I am not strong enough to deal with the two Generals.'
'And the Nightmen also won't be strong enough.'
'I thought about doing that when the False Prophet told me its last prophecy, but at this point, I have no other choice.'
'I have to do it.'
A plan formed in Nick's mind.
'The prophecy was true.'
'I won't survive the final battle.'
'But I have to make sure that humanity will survive.'
'The preparations might take longer than expected and will be far more challenging, but there is a way.'
Nick steeled his mind as he made his decision.
'I have to do it.'
Then, he looked at the Zephyx, the aliens were gathering.
'But first, I need Zephyx.'
Nick left the wall and entered the ground.
Then, he opened his Sanctuary and pocketed a couple of million tons of Zephyx.
'This should barely be noticeable. They have billions, if not trillions, of tons of Zephyx here.'
'And even if they notice, they won't be surprised.'
'They have advanced sensors, but they are only accurate to a certain degree.'
'Rounding errors occur all of the time.'
'Additionally, one of the two Generals overlooked this operation personally, and the aliens would never believe that someone could steal something in front of them.'
Nick went back to the Null and teleported away.
'For now, I should stay in the light, in case the Sun suspects something.'
'In a century or so, I will start my preparations.'
'It's difficult, but victory is not impossible.'
Nick took a deep breath.
'I can't disappoint everyone who sacrificed themselves for me and humanity!'
