King of Hollywood-Chapter 192 - : What You Want, You Must Get!
Chapter 192 -192: What You Want, You Must Get!
The girl softly sneezed and instinctively brushed the hair away from her nose before slightly opening her eyes. Sunlight streamed in from the balcony, and a gentle breeze stirred the curtains, carrying the sound of birdsong. It was a beautiful morning. She yawned and scratched her head, thinking about shifting positions to continue sleeping a little longer, but suddenly noticed something was off.
What was off? It was morning, she was hugging the blanket around her, wearing no clothes, and she had woken up in Ed’s room… No clothes?! Woken up in Ed’s room?!
“Damn it!” Charlize cursed under her breath, her expression turning sour.
“Ah, you’re awake, Charli, good morning.” Adrian’s voice came from the doorway, and Charlize immediately turned to look. He was dressed in pajamas, holding a tray with some snacks and two cups of coffee.
“Would you like some breakfast?” He smiled as he walked over and placed the tray on the nightstand.

“It looks like,” Charlize said with a cold laugh, watching Adrian, “that my job now includes organizing files, arranging schedules, contacting others, and accompanying you to amusement parks. And now, it seems I’ve added sleeping with you, right?”
“You really hurt my heart when you say things like that, Charli,” Adrian sighed and then twirled his finger around his temple, “Just try to remember what you did after smoking marijuana. I think that level of marijuana wouldn’t make you forget everything.”
Charlize was momentarily stunned, then skeptically started recalling while grabbing her hair. Within a few minutes, her expression became strange, and she glanced at Adrian, feeling guilty and embarrassed, then turned her head, seemingly unsure how to face him. Adrian sat down beside the bed, leisurely sipping his coffee.
After a while, Charlize finally closed her eyes, turned her head back, squeezed her fists to calm herself, and then reopened her eyes, “Okay, it looks like it was my own fault, but… ah…”
Just as she was trying to sit up. Luckily, Adrian had already put down his coffee cup and promptly stepped forward to support her, not only easing her back against the headboard with gentle movements but also considerately pulling up the thin quilt to cover her exposed chest.
“Sorry, but…” Adrian sighed as he sat back down, “I never expected you to become so…wild and reckless. Frankly, if this was caused by the marijuana, then you might be better off not smoking it in the future.”
Charlize looked at him with complex emotions and did not continue the initial topic. Seeing this, Adrian shrugged his shoulders and continued on his own, “Last night, you said a lot that made me further understand the girl beside me, the impact and distress that those experiences have brought to her.”
“No, no, Ed,” Charlize covered her forehead and shook her head with a sigh, “you will never truly understand. You were born into a wealthy family, with loving parents, a good education, lacking nothing, allowed to do whatever you want. Though you have faced some setbacks and suffering, it doesn’t mean… Look, Ed, there are many things you have not experienced, and without experiencing them, you can’t truly understand the feelings of others. Like being unable to pay the rent tomorrow and getting kicked out by the landlord, or struggling every day to earn more money just to get by.”
“Really?” Adrian said impassively, “Do you really think so, Charli?”
“Isn’t it?” Charlize lifted her head, her pretty gray-green eyes unblinkingly staring at him.
“Well, let me ask you, Charli,” Adrian said earnestly, “have you ever felt this way? There’s something you really want in a store window, something you’ve wanted for a long time. It’s not even expensive, actually quite cheap. You’ve saved up for a very long time and finally, you can afford to buy it. But just then, something unexpected happens, and all your savings aren’t enough… When you stand in front of the window, looking at the thing that’s within your reach, yet you have to summon all your strength to leave and swear never to come back, that feeling of bitter resentment clutches at your heart like countless claws.”
Charlize looked at Adrian, startled. Although he continued to look at her, there was a distant look in his eyes, as if lost in memories, his dark eyes unfathomable, like a deep pool one could plunge into and never climb out of.
After seconds of silence, Adrian spoke again, “So, when fate chose me, I told myself that I must obtain whatever I desire!”
He reached out and lightly caressed the girl’s beautiful cheek, “I’m sorry that I’ve also become a reason for your distress, but I want to say, you are charming. Confident, arrogant—perhaps with a bit of insecurity—unyielding, and very intelligent, very appealing.”
“You’ve probably said that to many women before.” Charlize hung her head, subconsciously pressing her chest, trying to divert the topic and suppress her intense heartbeat.
“Yes, that’s true, though not to many,” Adrian didn’t deny it, “I only compliment women who truly deserve it. Ordinary women all share the same mediocrity, whereas beautiful women each possess their unique beauty.”
Charlize lifted her head again, giving him another complex look, then laughed ruefully, “One of my teachers, Ms. Pullman, once taught me some things privately, how to deal with men and preserve oneself. You know, as an assistant, I need to interact with many people, sometimes even dealing with bosses…”
At that point, she made a gesture and stopped speaking, a bitter smile faintly adorning her beautiful face, while Adrian appeared to have an epiphany and chuckled, shaking his head.
“No wonder you always… So, should I feel proud?” he asked teasingly with a grin.
Charlize glared at him sharply before whispering in a self-consoling tone after a long pause, “I rarely date anyone, and for a long time, I didn’t even want to deal with men, so I’ve never had a boyfriend to this day.”
After she said this, Adrian’s look at her changed instantly, filled with pity and affection.
“It’s because of your father, right?” he asked softly after a while.
“Did you investigate me?!” Charlize turned her head sharply, her expression becoming extremely ugly as the pain of her innermost secret wounds being exposed to the sun made her tremble uncontrollably.
“Yes,” Adrian watched her calmly. “I need someone by my side who I can completely trust because I have many issues that need to be handled through her, so I must know everything about her.”
At this point, he sighed lightly and sat beside the bed, stretching out his arms to put them around Charlize’s shoulders and pulling her into his embrace, “I’m so sorry, Charli, I’m saddened by what happened to your family.”
Initially passive, Charlize suddenly started to struggle, flung her fists repeatedly at Adrian without saying a word, and twisted her body despite the immense pain below to escape his embrace—even if the blanket fell down, exposing her chest didn’t make her stop.
“It’s okay, it’s okay, no one can hurt you, Charli, no one.” Adrian never let go, instead, he embraced her firmly, continually comforting her, uncaring of the severe pain transmitting through his arm.
After a long time, Charlize, exhausted, finally stopped and gasped for air lying in Adrian’s arms. Adrian breathed out deeply, lifting the girl’s face from his embrace, and even then, she kept her lips sealed, only the occasional glittering tear rolling down from her beautiful eyes.
Charlize remained silent, staring intently at Adrian. She had managed to control her outburst of emotions, but the sorrow and pain in her gray-green eyes couldn’t be erased in an instant.
“Alright, just rest in bed today, you probably won’t be able to get out of bed today.” Adrian patted her face lightly and propped her against the headboard again covering her with the blanket before placing the tray from the bedside table in front of her. “Have something to eat, I believe you must be hungry.”
Obediently, Charlize silently began to drink her coffee and eat some pastries until she swallowed a small piece of bread and realized that Adrian had been holding the tray all along, and she looked somewhat embarrassedly at the man sitting beside her, smiling.
“No worries, today I can do anything for you,” Adrian shrugged. “Since it’s Saturday, there’s nothing important to handle, you just have to command.”
At that moment, he suddenly remembered something and picked up a small box from the bedside, handing it to her. “Oh, this was the gift I had for you last night. Regardless, I still hope you will accept it.”
Charlize took it with both hands, playing with it for a while without opening it, a complex expression in her eyes, then looked up at Adrian and asked with a raised eyebrow, “Really, you can do anything for me?”
“Of course.”
“Singing, dancing, making me happy, cooking, cleaning, servicing me, all of these are fine?”
“Uh… Singing is fine, cleaning is fine too, but I’m terrible at dancing, and I only know how to cook a few dishes, which might not suit your taste…”
“No worries, that settles it.” (To be continued. For more information, please visit . The site offers more chapters and supports the authors and genuine reading!)
