King's Rule: Creating the Strongest Kingdom With My Broken Talent-Chapter 22: Kingdom Rising
The sun was about to set, and most of the preparations were done.
A territory with an area of 20,000 square meters. In other words, it was almost the size of three football fields.
The ground was no longer dirt.
The complete 20,000 square meters had a fine jade foundation covering the entire floor, colored white with golden patterns that oozed a regal sense.
Cottage houses were renovated into courtyards and pavilions.
Pathways of beautiful flattened stones, arrays of trees and flowers, and the central part of the town were done.
Everything was also illuminated perfectly at night with different floating lanterns and designed lamps.
In the center was a 100-meter-tall crystal tower, 10 meters thick and pulsing with magic force that the giant whirlpool above it constantly fed by absorbing surrounding energies and refining them into magic force. This was the energy nexus.
At the current size of the whirlpool and at this location, this energy nexus was producing 5300 D-rank refined magic energy per hour, and the capacity of the crystal tower was 100,000. Since Vesh had created this first, it had already saturated.
The energy nexus would provide energy to all facilities in this territory created by Vesh that used refined magic power, though for now, there were only four such facilities requiring its energy.
First was the lighting system of the town that illuminated it at night. Its consumption was minimal. Just 78 per hour for now, as the town was still small.
Second was the barrier surrounding the territory. But it was no mere barrier. It was a barrier that recognized enemies and allies. It denied entry to those not given permission, not verbal permission, of course, but a rune from Vesh, which he made into physical rings for people to wear. Consumption: 640 refined magic energy per hour.
This barrier was connected to 10 Dread Eye Towers, previously known as Watch Towers, bordering the territory. They were the third facility.
Vesh had transformed all ten towers using his Wheel of Elements, advancing them far beyond the simple craft of stone and wood.
And to his surprise, doing that actually upgraded the blueprint.
[Dread Eye Towers]
-Rank: S
-Cost: User Mastery Input.
-Runtime Energy: 100 D-rank R. Magic Energy/hour.
-Weapon Energy: Adjustable when firing.
<Weapons>
Railgun Bullet Carpet | D to S rank.
Plasma Cannon Blaster | D to S rank.
The meaning behind the D to S rank was simple.
The moment he comprehended Ascension Storm of Heaven and Earth, and how it was already at 25-star potential, two things happened.
His King’s Rule and Wheel of Elements both jumped to 25-star potential as well.
King’s Rule jumped there because its potential progress depended on the potential progress of things Vesh had created through it.
Twenty-five stars were equivalent to a full-fledged S-rank talent, so Forguin was not wrong.
But King’s Rule used merely D-rank mastery of his elements and pure Mana control within the realm of Wheel of Elements, which allowed him further insights into elements, essentially blooming out S-rank-level potential from them despite having D-rank mastery and creating a wonder known as Ascension Storm of Heaven and Earth.
Since that was the case, all eight of his elements within the Wheel of Elements had also reached S-rank.
Vesh could feel it, and more than that, he had masterful control over them, so he made full use of his newfound powers in the renovation of his territory.
Since he had the power to build whatever he envisioned as his arsenal of talents increased, he was going to build the greatest kingdom that could ever exist!
"Alright, everyone. Gather up. It’s time to touch the sky."
Everyone arrived at the center, clearly excited and thrilled beyond words.
Today was hectic, but it was the most wonderful day.
"This is our first step towards building the most magnificent kingdom in the world." Vesh grinned. "No, not in the world. In all realities and beyond. That’s my dream."
"That’s rather ambitious! I like it! Let’s do it!" Arga laughed with gusto.
"My lord, given what we have seen today, we will die trying to fulfill your dream." Rovina smiled. "That’s my dream."
Vesh grinned with mirth.
"Heh, survival of the fittest rewards the strongest, and you are that, so the game is on." Kayan grinned with a crimson glint in his eyes, as thrilled as the others. "We are going to kill a whole bunch of assholes going forward."
"Oi." Vesh wryly smiled.
"What? You killed three assholes today yourself." Kayan snorted.
"..." Vesh blinked speechlessly, then cleared his throat. "Alright, without further ado, let’s begin our ascension."
The second facility attached to the energy nexus, activated—Plasma Wind Swirl Array.
When Vesh made it, its blueprint also manifested in his status.
[Plasma Wind Swirl Array]
-Rank: S
-Cost: User Master Input.
-Runtime Energy: 3800 D-rank R. Magic Energy/hour.
<Effects>
—> Levitation.
—> Acceleration.
—> Suspension.
The concept of this design was simple and based on physics-meeting-magic principles.
"Let’s begin." Vesh smiled.
As soon as Vesh finished speaking, the ground trembled.
The first step was plasma generation. For this, he created runes of lightning and fire in the array that generated superheated plasma currents using the refined magic energy.
Second, wind compression.
Wind runes formed the second layer of the array, arranged in vast spiraling formations beneath the jade foundation. The moment energy flowed into them, the runes awakened and began drawing in surrounding air as well as generating air using energy. What started as gentle currents quickly intensified, compressing the atmosphere into violently rotating streams.
The winds did not scatter randomly.
They were forced into disciplined motion, spiraling inward along the engraved paths of the array like a colossal invisible turbine.
As the compressed winds met the superheated plasma currents produced by the lightning and fire runes, the two forces merged. The plasma became the core of the storm, while the winds acted as its body, spinning faster and faster as the array stabilized the flow.
The result was a massive plasma cyclone forming beneath the territory.
"It’s shaking..."
"Like an earthquake."
"We are not flying yet?" Kayan blinked.
It was not stable yet, but Vesh chuckled and reassured them. "Don’t worry. It’s a step-by-step process to activate this."
Third, rotational stabilization.
This was the most important part of the design.
A ring of stabilization runes surrounded the core layers of the array, a work of pure Mana mastery. These runes controlled the rotation speed of the plasma storm, maintaining perfect balance so the forces did not tear themselves apart.
With that, instead of erupting chaotically, the cyclone flattened into a vast rotating disk beneath the island.
The spinning plasma winds generated enormous downward pressure, pushing against the air below while simultaneously lightening the effective weight of the landmass above. As the rotation intensified, the pressure differential grew stronger.
Gravity slowly began to lose its hold.
A low rumble echoed across the territory.
The jade foundation vibrated.
The enormous whirlpool in the sky above the crystal tower surged, pouring refined energy into the nexus, which in turn fed the awakening array beneath the land.
Runes ignited one after another.
Golden patterns carved into the jade floor began glowing faintly, spreading outward like flowing rivers of light.
Invisible winds began to roar.
The ground trembled once.
Then again.
Vesh’s grin widened.
"It’s starting."
The rotation speed increased.
The compressed winds screamed as they accelerated, dragging the plasma currents into a blazing spiral. Lightning flickered deep within the storm disk forming under the territory.
A massive circular pressure field expanded outward.
And then the trembling finally stopped.
Because the land was no longer pushing against the ground.
It was pushing against the sky.
Slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, the entire 20,000-square-meter territory began to rise.
Dust slid across the jade floor.
Loose stones lifted gently into the air before falling again as gravity struggled to reassert itself.
Then the ascent became undeniable.
The ground below began shrinking.
Trees outside the barrier slowly lowered in the distance.
The territory was rising.
Floating.
Ascending.
Arga’s jaw dropped.
"...Holy hell. It’s amazing to finally see this."
Rovina covered her mouth, eyes shining.
Kayan stared down over the edge of the barrier, crimson eyes wide with savage excitement.
"We’re flying."
The massive storm engine beneath the land stabilized as the rotational array reached equilibrium.
The plasma cyclone continued spinning endlessly, drawing power from the nexus and maintaining a perfect levitation field.
The territory hovered several meters above the ground.
Then ten.
Then twenty.
The wind howled softly around the barrier as the landmass continued its steady ascent.
Above them, the swirling heavenly whirlpool spun majestically in the evening sky.
Below them, the world slowly began to fall away.
Vesh grinned. "Time to go up. According to the survey I did, the perfect altitude for us is 18 kilometers up there. It was only there that I found B-rank energy in the atmosphere in abundance. Any higher and it started getting dangerous."
"That high? That’s why you disappeared for an hour in the middle?" Arga was dumbfounded.
"Nobody will be able to see us as we will be above the clouds." Rovina blinked. "Interesting. A stealth territory."
"I like it." Kayan grinned.
The Ananta Kingdom steadily flew up into the night as it took its first step, or more aptly said for this, its first flight, toward claiming the sky and ruling the earth.
