Kiss the Scumbag-Chapter 136
“Want to see Yujin?”
His mother frowned and spoke first. Winston disliked Gordon and Lady Katherine standing behind her, but he swallowed his feelings and answered.
“I haven’t seen him in person for three months now. I’ve recovered a lot, and I think it’s time I meet Yujin.”
Until then, he had been forbidden to visit due to his serious condition. At best, he saw his mother’s face once every few days, and all he heard about Yujin was that he was doing fine.
Of course, Winston didn’t take that at face value. He knew how the family looked at him. Considering how they constantly badmouthed Yujin even before the attack by the robber, it was easy to guess their true ★ 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ★ feelings.
But there was nothing he could do until now. Just getting his body together was overwhelming, and he still couldn’t walk without crutches, with the pain ongoing.
Until now, he had no choice but to leave Yujin in their care. But now it was different. More than anything, he wanted to see him soon. Every time he thought of Yujin trembling alone in fear, his heart burned. My lover, my only life.
He was everything to Winston.
“Let me see Yujin right now.”
Winston glared at them with bloodshot eyes and gritted his teeth. Mrs. Campbell sighed deeply, almost exasperated at her son’s attitude; Gordon twisted his face, and Katherine looked flustered and unsure what to do.
“Aren’t you curious what happened to those robbers?”
Gordon was the first to speak. That was an important matter too, but Winston wanted to check Yujin’s safety first.
“I’ll hear about that after I see Yujin.”
Gordon sighed in disbelief at Winston’s stubbornness. In the end, they relented.
“Fine, all right.”
Mrs. Campbell spoke quietly.
“We’ll let you meet him as you say. But first, listen to what we have to say.”
“If it’s about Yujin, I won’t listen. I already know what you’re going to say.”
Without hesitation, Winston sneered at them, but Mrs. Campbell just looked at him silently. At a subtle nod from her, Gordon rummaged in his suit jacket’s inner pocket as if waiting for this moment.
“Here.”
Gordon tossed something onto the bed where Winston was sitting and smirked.
“We’ve been hiding this from you until now. But if you’re well enough, there’s no need to keep it secret. See for yourself how that slut was deceiving you.” 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Winston’s eyes fell on a stack of photos spread across the bed. Each photo was so disgusting he didn’t want to touch them. Ha, Winston sighed briefly and picked one up. In front of his family, he tore apart the pictures showing Yujin naked, entangled with men. Clenching the torn pieces in his hand, he opened them above the bed and scattered the fragments onto the floor without even glancing at them. Then Winston spoke.
“These are all fabricated. Do you think I’d fall for this kind of setup?”
His faith was unshaken. But Mrs. Campbell showed no sign of wavering even seeing her son like that.
“I thought you might say that,” she said slowly, pressing her forehead.
“But hearing you say it for real doesn’t feel good. That Omega seduced my husband and my son like this... seriously...”
“Don’t speak ill of Yujin. It won’t change my feelings.”
Winston glared at his mother fiercely.
“You say Yujin seduced father? Do you know how old he was when he came here? If you really think that little child seduced father, I’m sorry, but you’re crazy.”
“Winston!”
“Mother, are you all right?”
Gordon raised his voice, and Katherine quickly grabbed Mrs. Campbell’s arm as if waiting for this moment. Mrs. Campbell only looked down at Winston with a cold expression, saying nothing.
“Maybe at first the kid was innocent.”
His mother spoke slowly, as if carefully chewing every word.
“But after manifesting as an Omega, things would’ve changed. Isn’t that what Omegas are? They’re crazy for that stuff and spread their legs all the time.”
“Are Alphas different?”
Winston snapped back, but Mrs. Campbell replied as if she had anticipated it.
“Yes, the Alphas go crazy for that Omega. So you understand what happens when pheromones take over.”
“Yujin is different.”
“That’s just your wishful thinking. How can you overcome instinct?”
Winston grew angrier but knew he couldn’t persuade her no matter what he said. No one, including his mother, believed they were different. ‘Different’ was the only truth and everything, so when that was denied, he lost all will to argue further.
“Enough. Let me see Yujin. Where is he?”
Winston completely ignored them now. Mrs. Campbell stared at her son’s face for a moment, then spoke.
“If you want to see him that badly, why don’t you go meet him yourself?”
Winston frowned without thinking at her cold voice. She continued.
“You don’t believe anything we say anyway, so what can we do? If you like him so much, go see him yourself. We won’t interfere anymore.”
Unexpectedly, she backed down too easily. Winston, who expected more opposition, was dumbfounded.
“...What’s your real intention?”
“Mind your language!”
Katherine cut in at Winston’s suspicious tone.
“We’ve been holding back for you until now, but you’re so rude. How can you be like this? At least pretend to listen...”
“That’s enough, Katherine. Stop it.”
His mother stopped her daughter with a cold voice. Still staring at Winston, she spoke again.
“If you don’t listen no matter what truth we tell you, there’s no choice but to wait until you realize it yourself. Leave it be. You’ll be the one regretting it later.”
Mrs. Campbell narrowed her eyes and added.
“We have no choice but to wait, don’t we?”
Winston just looked at her silently, as if urging her to tell him where Yujin was.
“They’ll start discharge procedures. Wait until then.”
His mother spoke again.
“If your body is good enough, there’s no reason to stay in the hospital. When discharge is done, we’ll have a car ready. Take it. It will take you to where Yujin is.”
Mrs. Campbell twisted her mouth toward her son in a cynical smile.
“I hope your faith doesn’t break.”
Her last words sounded like a curse. Without another word, Mrs. Campbell turned and left the room. Gordon and Lady Katherine followed, and Winston was left alone at last. As he glanced down, the torn photo pieces remained on the bed. His eyes met with a dazed Yujin in ecstasy in one of the pictures, and cursing, Winston gathered all the fragments and threw them into the trash.
Someone was doctoring and spreading fake photos of Yujin.
Winston firmly believed it. He was sure Yujin would never betray him.
He had to meet him soon.
Otherwise, this unpleasant feeling wouldn’t go away. He wanted to hold Yujin, smell him, and feel relieved. If Yujin said he was okay, everything would go back to normal. Like before.
Yujin would never do such a thing.
Winston kept telling himself. It was all lies. They wanted to separate him from Yujin. Nobody knew better than him how innocent and pure Yujin was.
Yujin had only him.
It was the same for Winston. No one could replace Yujin. They were each other’s only existence.
Then why.
Winston clenched his teeth as cold sweat formed on his palm.
Why did he keep feeling something ominous?
The confident attitude of Mrs. Campbell and his family bothered him. They probably didn’t think these tricks would work on him, so why were they so calm?
Why did they give up so fast?
No, don’t think about it anymore.
He shook off the growing doubts with a shake of his head. Was it really necessary to wait? He could just get in the car and leave right now.
Without hesitation, Winston got up from the bed. Immediately, a piercing pain ran through his body, and his knees buckled with a groan. Ha, ha, gasping for breath, he stayed still for a while before slowly gathering himself and sitting up bit by bit. He called the bodyguard waiting outside for help, changed clothes with assistance, and finally left the hospital room. By the time he got into the car, his whole body was soaked in sweat.
“Are you okay? If you’re feeling weak, there’s medicine in the console box...”
The driver asked worriedly, and Winston opened the console box. His hands trembled, and it took three attempts to do the simple action. Winston fumbled inside the box, found water and medicine, and swallowed it all at once. Quietly riding in the car, he closed his eyes and waited for the medicine to take effect. He prayed it would save him from this terrible pain.
But the nightmare was only just beginning.
