Kissed and Seduced By the Most Rough Man in the Village-Chapter 25: Can Eating Heartily Make the Body Normal?
"Comrade, hello. I want to buy thirty eggs, ten kilograms of flour, two kilograms of pork belly..." Jiang Yexun’s gaze swept over the counter and, noticing fresh pears and apples, he added, "And also, give me two kilograms of apples and two kilograms of pears."
"That will be nine yuan and two cents in total, along with the corresponding tickets," the salesclerk quickly calculated.
"Could you also fetch me two cans of powdered milk?" Jiang Yexun counted out fifteen yuan and two cents and handed it over with the tickets.
After the clerk finished packing, he looked at Su Xiaoxiao beside him and asked, "Do you need anything else?"
"I want to buy four batteries. I have a radio, but I haven’t taken it out to use yet. And I’d also like to buy a piece of curtain to separate my bed from Dong Jiaxuan’s," Su Xiaoxiao said as she took money and tickets from her bag.
However, Jiang Yexun stopped her with a hand on her arm. "I’ll handle it."
The salesclerk nearby chimed in with a smile, "That’s right, this lady can let your man take care of it. He’s got money, you know. He comes here to sell wild rabbits and wild chickens every now and then, and among the several production teams nearby, he’s the best hunter."
Su Xiaoxiao couldn’t lift her head due to the teasing and didn’t argue with Jiang Yexun anymore. He continued to look at her, his cold demeanor melting into gentleness.
Seeing the affection between them, the two salesclerks were both envious and jealous.
After receiving the bagged items, Jiang Yexun and Su Xiaoxiao didn’t linger at the supply and marketing cooperative for long. However, when they reached the entrance, Jiang Yexun stopped.
"My mother is going to bring the matchmaker to your place tomorrow. Would you like to make a phone call to your family?" he asked.
"No, it’s not necessary," Su Xiaoxiao replied, avoiding eye contact and feeling a little guilty.
Jiang Yexun’s heart tightened instantly, and he looked at her with a furrowed brow.
Su Xiaoxiao knew he was overthinking things again and hurriedly explained, "I need some time to think about how to tell my family. If I call them now, they’ll drop everything and come here.”
But she had to wait until after the autumn harvest to go see her brother.
In her previous life, she heard the death of her brother right before the Spring Festival. But later, she found out that he had been injured two months earlier and had been under treatment all that time. And she didn’t even get to see him one last time.
If it happened two months before the Spring Festival, it would coincide with the end of the autumn harvest. There was no chance that she couldn’t take leave. But at the very least, after the harvest, she had determined to go see her brother.
This time, whatever it took, she wouldn’t let her brother suffer any harm!
Jiang Yexun, seeing the frown on the girl’s face, looked at her gently and sighed in understanding. "Okay, I understand. Take your time to figure it out. But don’t worry; I’ll make sure they believe that marrying me won’t make you suffer."
"Yeah, I believe you can do it. My family doesn’t care about background; the most important thing is the person himself." Su Xiaoxiao comforted him.
Jiang Yexun, who was so capable and genuinely cared for her, should have no problem gaining her family’s approval. The key was that they needed to meet in person.
Jiang Yexun escorted Su Xiaoxiao back to the dormitory. Except for the eggs, flour, and pork belly, he handed over all the other items to her. Then he remembered something and asked softly, "By the way, do you mind not earning six work points per day?"
"I don’t mind. I used to be afraid of people mocking me for being too delicate. But now, they’ll only mock you, saying you married a delicate wife who can’t do any work. So I’m not afraid anymore. Can I apply for a lighter and easier job with fewer work points after tomorrow?"
Su Xiaoxiao pouted, and her tone carried a hint of grievance.
Jiang Yexun, with a hooked smile, looked at the girl’s fluffy head. He really wanted to open it up and see how she worried so much about trivial things like this every day.
"Of course. Starting tomorrow, you can go cut hogweed. It’s only two work points a day, and it’s very easy. You don’t need to worry about not earning enough work points to buy grain. I have money, and after the autumn harvest, I’ll buy it for you," Jiang Yexun assured her.
Su Xiaoxiao immediately nodded happily. "Alright, it’s a deal. Starting tomorrow, I’ll go cut hogweed."
Jiang Yexun smiled and couldn’t resist patting her head before saying, "Okay, I’ll be heading back now, but I’ll be back soon. If you’re hungry, just eat something."
"Got it." Su Xiaoxiao subconsciously leaned toward his direction, but she thought about the fact that everyone was about to start work and forced herself to hold back. Instead, she waved to him.
As she watched Jiang Yexun walk away, she leaned softly against the courtyard wall. Her body’s reactions were driving her crazy, and most importantly, she didn’t know how long it would take for everything to settle down.
Su Xiaoxiao bit her lower lip gently and stood there lost in thought for quite some time.
She felt that she needed to find a way to marry Jiang Yexun as soon as possible. Since she had a strong desire to get closer to him, and once they got closer, she wanted to hold hands and cuddle; and after cuddling, she wanted to hug. After hugging, she wanted to nuzzle; and after nuzzling, she wanted to kiss. So why not just take all those steps at once? Perhaps if they did everything, her cravings would disappear. If nothing else, at least they would officially be a couple, and others wouldn’t have much to say about their affectionate behavior.
However, when she thought about how protective her brother had been in the past, ready to confront anyone who dared to look at her a little bit long, Su Xiaoxiao suddenly felt that there were still many challenges ahead, waiting for them.
