Muyang sprung into action immediately like a superhero summoned from from far beyond the universe to save the a world from the attack of a villain. He knocked over a tray of pancakes and slipped and fell. But he did not stop. He got back up and ran towards Mei Mei to save her from whatever danger she had encountered.

Speechless.

That was the reaction of everyone in the dining room, including Smarty pants, the artificial cat.

Chi Lian’s mouth was even gaping. The distance between them and Mei Mei was not even that great. Did her husband have to run and step on things as if he was crossing oceans to get to their daughter. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

The older Jun’s were wondering how long it had been since they last saw a scene of Muyang almost ending the entire world for the sake of his daughter. They often joked that Mei Mei would be the beginning of his villain story...if he became a villain.

Of course, Chi Lian always argued that it would be her. But sadly, nobody agreed with her.

Mingzhe was looking at his watch, stuck between going to work or watching the drama unfold. Drama won. There was nothing urgent pending at the office anyway. All the royals were safely tucked away in their beds, the Emperor especially.

How could he wake up early when Kang Zhenzhen had slept in his bed!!

He had already viewed and deleted all the security footage of her in the palace. His men would make sure that Zhenzhen was not seen sneaking out of the royal palace.

If the peep star got wind of what had happened....it was not his problem. The royal family would have to handle it on their own.

Meanwhile, Muyang was heaving pointing a table knife out of the window as his eyes scanned the grounds for the thing that dared to scare his daughter.

"Dad, put the knife down." Mei Mei placed her hand over her father’s arm and pushed it down. "I am in shock because I am pretty sure that one of my horses is among the many animals you have out there."

Muyang relaxed. "Oh, yeah...that is the work of your mother. She had one of your horses air lifted and brought over because Prince....uhm.....Prince Long ...mmm...the five year old old prince is having some kind of tea party and he and his friends want to take pictures with Thunder Muyang.

But, Thunder will be out of the country with us so your mother convinced them to use one of his siblings. They agreed to pay a fee of eight hundred thousand yuan to rent the horse for three hours. Your mom cleared this with your assistant. Didn’t she tell you?"

Mei Mei scrunched her eyes, trying to recall that conversation. The last time assistant Han had spoken to her about a horse was over the phone and Jingzhe’s tongue was examining her mouth vigorously.

"Maybe she said something, I don’t recall." She scratched the back of her neck.

There seemed to be an abrupt change in the weather. The sun was blocked all of a sudden and Mei Mei was surprised. She started turning her head to understand what was going on with the sky but Muyang grabbed her hands.

His eyes were darker and sharper. "Mei Mei, whatever you do..."

She did not wait to hear the rest of his words and turned her head to look out of the window.

And then she saw it.

Lele!!

The monstrous sized snake was the reason for the darkness. It had blocked out the sun and most of the window with its large sized upper body. It’s forked tongue was dancing excitedly and it started making loud hissing noises.

"Oh no, Lele is excited." Chi Lian cried out.

They all knew why the snake was excited. She liked Mei Mei a lot. Like was a small word, it was more like forced love. Lele loved Mei Mei the same way or more than she love her own children. Mei Mei did not reciprocate that love.

"Lele...." Muyang spoke to the snake cautiously, "Nice snake...good snake...."

Before anyone could stop Lele, her head poked inside through the window and she opened her tunnel like mouth, grabbing Mei Mei and pulling her out of the house. She flung her in the air and caught her with her tail, before wrapping her in a scaly hug.

And then, as Mei Mei shrieked, Lele carried her off to her house.

In the dining room, Mingzhu was frightened and crying. Everyone else was comforting her and assuring her that Lele was a good snake and a family pet. Mingzhe and Jingzhe run after Lele meanwhile.

Outside, the butler blinked twice as the snake made away with the young lady. He shook his head and said, "I knew Lele would go for her as soon as she caught her scent."

"PUT ME DOWN YOU OVERFED SERPENT!" Mei Mei screamed.

The gardeners laughed.

One of them said, "Lele threw her own children out of the house but keeps the young lady’s old clothes and pictures. I cannot decide if the snake loves her or it is obsessed with her."

Mei Mei found herself in the largest glass house on the grounds which also served as Lele’s house. It was close to the private beach her mother owned and she could hear the sound of the lake. When Lele was not in the glass house, she was in the lake.

The last time Mei Mei had been in that glass house, Lele had not been gigantic sized and she had no children. She was also not a kidnapper!!

The glass house had changed. New trees, new pillows, new extremely large bed!!! new pond of water inside. But some things had not changed. Like the smell of berries in the air, the pictures of her on the glass wall and that affectionate look Lele was giving her.

Mei Mei was familiar enough with it to know what was coming next.

"No..no..no...absolutely not Lele." She shouted. "It was one thing to sneak into my bed and cuddle around me when you were small but you are a giant now. If you try to cuddle me, you will break me."

Lele’s tail slapped her and she fell on the bed, shrieking again. And then, the snake wrapped around her, leaving her with just enough room to breathe and twist.

Mei Mei huffed. "I have to go to work Lele."

She knew the snake understood her and she waited for it to let her go. It did not.

"Kidnapping is a crime you know." She told it. "Aren’t you scared of going to the zoo?"
