Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!-Chapter 205: Real Couples Shouldn’t Sleep in Separate Beds
Luna eagerly pulled Annelise Winter’s hand as they walked downstairs together.
At the dining table
Annelise deliberately kept Luna a bit away from Elias Warner.
"Daddy, this is your favorite beef brisket. Luna picked it for you, so don’t be sad, Daddy. If you’re sad, I can tell you a story!"
Luna timidly approached Elias Warner, wanting to get close but also afraid.
Elias Warner felt uneasy.
He glanced at Annelise.
"Luna is already five years old. She should be starting school and playing with other kids. I’ve already contacted a doctor, a professional, so you can rest assured. They will come and do a full check-up on Luna. If she’s healthy, I will contact a school to let her start attending!"
Elias Warner said to Annelise in a calm tone.
Annelise was taken aback. She never expected Elias would do so much for Luna, even after knowing the child wasn’t his.
She couldn’t react for a moment.
Upon hearing Elias say she could go to school, Luna was visibly happy, seemingly forgetting the unpleasant demeanor he showed before.
"Really? Daddy, I’ve always dreamed of going to school!"
Luna eagerly looked at Luna.
But Elias Warner did not respond to Luna.
It was clear, Annelise could see that Elias Warner had not truly accepted Luna in his heart.
"Mama Langdon, can you please take Luna upstairs to wash up? She’s almost done eating!"
Mama Langdon hurried forward and took Luna away.
At the dining table, only Elias Warner and Annelise were left.
"Elias Warner, I want to ask you for a favor, can you not treat Luna like this? You know she’s just a child, she’s always thought of you as her dad. Couldn’t you be a little nicer to her?"
Annelise pleaded.
Elias Warner clasped his fingers tightly.
This woman, asking him now to be nice to her and Chase Perry’s child?
It was truly laughable.
Back then, she betrayed him for Chase Perry, had an abortion, and then had Chase Perry’s child. Now she’s asking him to be nice for Chase Perry’s child.
How much love does she have for Chase Perry to do such things!
"Annelise, I’m telling you, you don’t have the right to ask too much of me! I’ve already gone above and beyond. Why? Is the man you chose over me, Chase Perry, so irresponsible that he doesn’t even glance at the child? Is this the man you betrayed me for?"
Elias Warner mocked.
"Elias Warner, I’m begging you, alright? Luna is not Chase Perry’s child! So, there’s no need for you to hate her that much!"
Annelise couldn’t help but exclaim loudly.
"What did you say? Luna is not Chase Perry’s child? Do you know what you’re saying? Do you mean you were with another man? Then tell me, who is that man?"
Elias Warner was taken aback.
"You don’t need to know my private matters!"
Annelise bowed her head and replied coldly.
Elias Warner stepped forward and cupped Annelise’s chin with both hands.
"Annelise, do you know what you’re saying? You are my wife now, and whether you have children or not, you’re still my wife. Since you’re my wife, your child is my child. Even if it’s someone else’s child, she’ll have my surname, Warner!"
Elias Warner’s possessiveness surged inexplicably.
He turned and walked away.
He feared he might lose control of his emotions.
He really wanted to go and beat up the man who made Annelise have a child.
How could he be so irresponsible!
Annelise watched Elias Warner’s departing figure, unsure of what to say.
If he knew Luna was actually his child, what would his expression be?
Annelise finished her meal, washed up, and accompanied Luna to sleep.
Elias Warner smoked a few cigarettes outside, then came back to the dining room but found Annelise had long since gone upstairs after dinner.
He also went upstairs.
He asked Mama Langdon: "Mama Langdon, where’s Annelise? Where did she go?"
"Young master, Miss Winter went to accompany Luna to sleep!"
"In the children’s room with Luna?"
"Yes, young master!"
"Go, call her over!"
Elias Warner’s expression darkened. Why did this woman like her and another man’s child so much?
"This..." Mama Langdon frowned.
How could her young master be jealous of a five-year-old child?
"I told you to go, so go!"
"Yes, young master!"
Mama Langdon entered the children’s room, finding the door ajar, and walked inside.
In a low voice, she said to Annelise, "Miss Winter, the young master asked me to call you over."
Annelise looked down at the almost asleep Luna: "I’m not going; I want to accompany the child to sleep!"
"This..."
Mama Langdon sighed, unable to say anything more.
As a woman, she naturally understood Annelise’s thoughts.
"Miss Winter, you know the young master. When he makes a decision, it usually can’t be changed. Please quickly put the child to sleep and go over there soon!"
"I understand!"
Mama Langdon left.
Annelise coaxed Luna to sleep.
After she fell asleep, Annelise quietly got up and headed toward Elias Warner’s room.
She hesitated outside Elias Warner’s room.
Uncertain about whether to enter or not.
Although she had already married Elias Warner, it was only in name.
Would he want her to fulfill her wifely duties if she went in?
She had no feelings for Elias Warner.
But she had something she needed to discuss with him.
After all, she was about to leave Kybourne, and Luna’s birthday was coming up.
She really didn’t want to see Luna sad.
She really wanted Elias Warner to accompany Luna well before she left.
Elias Warner should not have any regrets when he learns the truth.
She gathered her courage and knocked on Elias Warner’s door.
"Knock, knock!"
She had just knocked once.
A pair of large hands reached out and pulled her directly into the room.
Annelise Winter was startled.
"Annelise, have you forgotten that we are legally married? Shouldn’t your husband be your primary focus? Do you really love someone else’s bastard child so much?"
Thinking of the child Annelise had aborted, if it had lived, it would be this old now.
Elias Warner felt a pang in his heart.
He wanted to hate Annelise for being so heartless and aborting his child.
Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to hate her.
Whenever he saw this woman, he just wanted to have her. Wanted to be good to her.
Sometimes, he even hated himself for being so in love with her.
"I told you, Luna is not Chase Perry’s child! Please show Luna some respect! She is not a bastard!"
Annelise wouldn’t allow anyone to insult Luna.
"Fine, that’s just great!" Elias Warner was so angry he wanted to go mad.
"Go take a shower!"
Elias Warner wanted to calm down.
Annelise turned around and went straight to the bathroom.
She let the water flow over her, soaking in the water, thinking of many things.
She thought about the moments she spent with Elias Warner.
She thought about when Luna first came to Elias’s villa, and their happy times together as a family.
During those times, Annelise was very grateful to Elias Warner.
Thankful that he could give Luna a beautiful memory.
She almost fell asleep soaking in the water.
Outside, Elias Warner was also thinking about his times with Annelise.
Why had things turned out this way?
It seemed impossible to return to how they were before.
"Annelise, what are you doing in there? Are you trying to avoid me? Rest assured, I won’t touch you at all! I just think that as a married couple, we shouldn’t sleep in separate beds!"
Elias Warner was saying the opposite of what he felt.
Only then did Annelise snap back to reality.
The past few years living in the country had been too tiring for her.
Previously being suppressed by Renee Perry, and now finally breaking free from that constraint.
But living with Elias Warner felt suffocating to her.
Realizing this, Annelise got out of the bath, only to find she had forgotten to bring clothes.
Dammit! I actually forgot to bring clothes.
What should I do?
Should I ask Elias Warner to bring them?
Forget it!
Annelise saw a wide and large white shirt in the cabinet inside the bathroom.
She had to use this shirt to cover herself.
She put on the shirt; it was just enough to cover her thighs.
She walked out of the bathroom.
The moment Elias Warner saw Annelise, he was stunned.
Annelise had her hair tied up, casually clipped at the back, with a few strands falling across her forehead.
The white shirt she wore only covered her thighs, leaving her slender, long legs exposed to Elias Warner’s view.
Elias Warner’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, and a strange heat surged through him.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t bring clothes, and this was the only thing I could find. If you mind, I’ll change later and return the shirt to you!"
Annelise spoke as she walked out.
As she walked, the shirt swung with her steps.
Her long legs tormented him.
Just as Annelise reached the door, Elias Warner’s large hands pulled her back.
She was instantly drawn into his embrace.
Annelise, panicking, pushed him away.
This brought him back to his senses, slightly.
"Rest assured, I won’t touch you. I find it disgusting that you’ve been with a man other than Chase Perry!"
Elias Warner endured the pain, then lay down on the bed.
Annelise felt a bit disappointed.
Her mind was in turmoil.
"This is the outcome she wanted, so she should be happy!"
The room suddenly fell silent.
At this moment, Annelise lay beside Elias Warner.
Elias Warner tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
He was burning up, sweat dripping from his forehead.
Annelise turned around to discuss Luna, but just then she made eye contact with Elias Warner.
Having held back for so long, Elias Warner pounced directly.
He unbuttoned Annelise’s shirt.
The room was filled with passion.
Not until Elias Warner was exhausted did he stop.
Annelise was sore all over.
Her waist felt like it was about to break from his torment.
She had no idea where this man got so much energy from.
Despite flying a mission and shooting a promo, he hadn’t stopped for a moment, and now he had tormented her for hours.
If this continued, she felt like she would fall apart.
Elias Warner seemed to notice Annelise’s pain.
Only then did he stop and lie down.
