Last Ruler Of The Empty Throne-Chapter 113: Only ladies?
Jon left the room with a satisfied, but serious face.
Now, he was awake and well, it was time to meet the girls and know what happened while he wasn’t around.
He knew something must have happened here, and that was why he left the girls and only took Alexa, and form the looks of it, things must have gone fine.
On his way, a notification he didn’t want to see came up. Or rather he didn’t want to believe it.
[YOU HAVE 1 SKILL SLOT LEFT]
Immediately he saw it, he changed his direction.
He needed some space and time to think, so his direction was out of the building. And before long, with his skills he was able to leave the building and appeared on a street corner.
"Whew..." After a slight release of air he reduced his level till it got to 6. It was the level he commonly saw among the survivors, so he just went with that. He didn’t also forget to tamper with his face a little with a treasure. It was actually among the treasures Alexa and Gar’al had thrown aside when they were searching for new skills and treasures.
They found it useless, but he found it useful; he knew his new face could cause trouble if he wasn’t careful.
The treasure was just a plain black mask with no other special looks to it.
[’PLAY MASK’ (UNRANKED): USING 10 POINTS OF MANA TO WEAR THE FACE OF ANOTHER.]
’It looks like a mask for acting.’ Truthfully, it was a mask for acting but in the hands of the wrong person, it could be using it for impersonation or stealing. Though he wasn’t using it for anything so different, he was hiding his identity.
With his facial characteristics, he didn’t think they wouldn’t be people who would recognize him. And now that people knew they got more beautiful the stronger they are, it would be easy to recognize the most handsome man in the camp.
So after placing the mask on his face and changing his face to that of a bald man in thirties, he came out and joined the survivors walking about.
"Level 10 Flame jumping monster meat for three cups of rice."
"Tch, I wanted maize"
"Oh, give me that."
"Oi, get out of here..."
"..."
And at the edge of the roads, there was activity going on. People were walking around trading things they had for what they wanted.
And though it was a bit rowdy, most of them were able to get what they wanted because almost everyone had their specific needs and had to get it themselves, so they all had to come out with what they had.
This was the ’Trade street’. It was one of the most important areas in the camp, the reason been what was occurring. It was a street dedicated just for buying and selling. It was obviously created when Jon’s group took over and since almost everyone had a job, they had food. And now they had food, when they needed another type of food, they came to this street.
’This is...’ Jon in his disguise was surprised at the situation. He had come out to clear out his head after seeing that notification, and though there was no fighting going on or anyone causing trouble, it kind of left a bad taste in his him.
The first was that, though most were able to get what they wanted, they were still people who couldn’t get what they wanted because they didn’t have what others needed or they didn’t have enough.
And the second was, order. There was no order in this place at all. He wouldn’t be surprised if a fight took place frequently in this place, hence the reason for evolvers and policemen patrolling about often.
The worst part was, Jon wouldn’t have known at all if he didn’t come out today. He had thought he was doing well, but now looking at it, he wasn’t doing well enough.
The main issue was, they were always busy. And they always dealt with the bigger issues and left the others as if they didn’t matter and Nancy was the practically the camp’s manager. She took care of the food, jobs and even reports.
Thankfully he was seeing this early. If he wanted to create a place of peace, he also needed to see what the people needed.
’Maybe this is how the presidents felt.’ He chuckled at the thought.
Now that he was seeing what the people had to face every time, his own issue suddenly felt lesser. People were here for almost a whole day and they probably don’t get what they wanted, and he was here complaining he had only one slot of skill left.
’Now, a solution.’ He began looking around and even spread his senses at conversations talking about the matter.
"Hehehe, what level are you?"
"Hey, are you free this evening?"
"Please help me?"
"..."
After filtering through many useless conversations, he found two ladies talking about the problem.
And he couldn’t help but wonder, ’Is there something else to it or what...’ In most of the main positions in the camp they were ladies occupying them, Nancy, Laura, Cynthia, Jenny, Alexa and even Victoria and the guys were less, however, he didn’t discriminate. If the guys did well, they would be there too.
"Haa...this same issue again?" A lady spoke to her friend.
"I know right...it was also like this yesterday." The second lady looked down at the box of meat she was holding and clicked her tongue.
The two ladies were both level 17 evolvers under the same company leader and since there was a temporary ban on going to level-up, they decided to eat something different and since yesterday they hadn’t been able to get what they wanted.
"You know, I think my plant skill can solve this." The first lady put her hand on his jaw as if she was thinking of what to do.
"Right...look Syria, only your body can solve anything." The second lady just kept looking at the body of her friend, Syria and shook her head with a sly smile. This friend of hers was quite intelligent, but hadn’t been able to catch the eyes of the leaders.
"H-How can you say that Stephanie..." Syria shyly covered her body and began looking around in case anyone was heard them.
"Hehehe...but, why don’t you tell the leaders, they would listen to what you have to say." Stephanie couldn’t understand why her friend didn’t want to speak up. Even without her telling her the method, she knew it would be genius and something only her could do.
"Well, I..." However before she could continue, a bald middle aged man was approaching them. She and Stephanie got a bit tensed just by seeing him, but after gauging his level, they dropped their guard a bit.
"Hey there, I was wondering if I we could trade." Jon disguised as the bald man raised his own box of food to show his intention.
"Why don’t you go over there?" Stephanie stepped forward and questioned with a suspicious glare.
"Haha, Sorry I overheard you ladies complaining about the packed area so I thought I might help, and who knows, I might have it." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"Hmm..." Stephanie suddenly couldn’t refute his words. But she wasn’t worried about him trying anything funny. That was among the reasons they decided to get stronger in the first place, self-protection.
’Nice attitude.’ And it was like Jon could see her determination and he couldn’t blame them for their reasons. Anyone who saw them would normally want to approach them due to their bodies and beauty, however they could only look since they both were evolvers and under the leaders protection.
"So what do you have?" Stephanie asked. She wasn’t planning on telling him what they had and wanted in the first place.
"Oh..." As if he had been waiting, he knelt and opened his own box. Lo and behold, Cans of soft drinks, Alcohols, Chocolates, Canned foods and all manner of foods from pre-apocalypse were stuffed in that box.
"..." Wide eyed, Stephanie was left speechless again. Syria even gasped at the sight of the things. It had been a while since she had seen things like that. Though Jon didn’t necessarily have what they needed, they could as well need what he currently had.
"W-Where did you get them?" Stephanie said again, stretching her hand to stop Syria from moving any closer. She was honestly surprised to the point of suspicion, and it turned to full suspicion.
"Well, I got a cut among the things I brought so..." Jon replied as smoothly as he could. ’I like this girl.’ He was smiling in his mind at her, she didn’t readily believe anything and even when the two ladies were at the same level, she still stepped forward to protect.
"I don’t-" But before Stephanie could talk again.
"Alcohol."
"What?"
"Hmm?"
Stephanie and Jon reacted at Syria’s word.
"Give me alcohol." She said again and even started dragging the box away from Stephanie’s hand.
"Hey, you..." Stephanie was about to rebuke but that didn’t stop Syria.
Like a possessed girls, she gave Jon the whole box and said, "Y-You don’t mind?"
Jon’s eyes were wide open for a moment before he began to laugh.
"Hahaha..."
They both had had interesting and complementary characteristics.
