Chapter 123: Intelligence and knowledge

-I’m tired of getting shocked at this point.

Amelia’s voice sounded in Jon’s head making him look at her direction for a moment.

’You know what is happening?’ Jon had to ask, because at this point he was confused.

-First of all, don’t you find it all strange that beings that came together with the second evolution aren’t even in the second realm.

He frowned a little at her words. He hadn’t actually thought of it, however now hearing it, it was totally strange.

With the evolution of the world, it came with new things. And among those new things were stronger monster, and for a speaking tribe like the shamans, their weakest was meant to be in the first realm, if they had at all.

-Yes, it is probably as you have thought, it is really strange. What actually happened is, like they are known for, they sacrificed their strength for knowledge.

’What?’ Jon though still kept his eyes on the shamans as he listened.

-Yes, the only thing is, they didn’t do it themselves, it done for them with the evolution.

’Why would the evolution do that?’ Jon asked.

-Exactly, that’s the strange part.

Amelia didn’t know why it must have happened, and Jon didn’t push further. However, he could ask another question.

’So, what is with this skill that can jump realms?’

-Soul sacrifice, it’s as you’ve heard. It is a skill that dabbles into something almost no had touched on before, well very few people in the past.

’The soul?’

-Yes, the soul. In the past, there was a person that touched on the soul. He was hunted down by the top factions because of the power he displayed.

It was already shocking hearing that all the factions hunted only one person, however it was fact there was only one person like that.

’Wait, then-’

-Yes, the person jumped realms like that, his power was almost absolute.

’So how did he die if he was almost absolute?’

-He wasn’t killed.

’Wait, you mean-’

-Yes, his soul power ran out.

And immediately she said that, the shamans rushed in on him.

Raising his black spear, he pierced out continuously with ’One strike’.

"Urghh..."

"Ahhh..."

"Fuckk..."

The shamans cursed out as their bodies were ripped apart with the strike. However, they didn’t bleed out or anything like that. No, their torn bodies came back to them.

"Mm?" Jon was shocked at the progression of the fight.

And the shamans were grinning with large smiles, seeing how they weren’t dying like chickens and would be able to hold out.

-At this point, it would be difficult to kill them.

’So their soul power would have to run out.’ Jon parried three shamans and did a full circle with the spear and morphed it into a hammer and slammed down.

BOOOM

’If that is the case, then you are saying because they sacrificed their strength they are able to use this skill. Then how was the one the shamans that came from the portal used so similar?’

-That one is incomplete.

’Incomplete...’ Jon muttered as he kept fighting the shamans.

The shamans were using all their might to attack. They swung wildly, summoned spells and threw them, they even went as far as throw their bodies to hit him.

However, even with all that, they weren’t able to even get a hit on Jon. It was like a master training his students and despite their numbers, they still couldn’t do anything.

’Hurry,’ Amelia muttered silently as she briefly looked away from Jon’s fight to the distance for a moment.

The truth Amelia didn’t tell Jon was, these shamans that Jon was fighting could all almost be called specials. They were intelligent enough to dabble into the soul and that wasn’t even all.

Her scope of view was by far wider that Jon, so she had seen a lot of things. These shamans upon arriving already knew about their homeland when that was supposed to be knowledge one unlocks when they reach a certain level of strength, and they knew it.

And the last and strangest of all, they also knew how to open a path to their world from this world.

The truth of it was, if the people on the other side of the portal wanted to open a portal like that, they would have to use a large number of cores from their fellow shamans to power. However, here in this small world, these shamans knew spells and ways to form them with little cores, blood, curses and negative emotions.

Amelia could almost beat her chest and say, they wouldn’t find any other shaman group like this again. The rest would have their strength and withheld knowledge.

In the span of about five minutes, Jon had cut the shamans countless times however they kept coming back together.

Upon seeing their continuous and restless attacks, Jon decided to use the opportunity to train his ’Martial expert’ skill. The way to improve the skill was applying new knowledges to the way of his fighting.

But after five minutes, he started getting bored of it.

"Let’s-" However, before he could finish his words, he snapped his head to a direction after feeling a certain fluctuation

"Hehehe, too late." The shaman chief who had left the shamans at a certain time smiled in a strange way standing in front of the massive portal.

Jon was about to talk when the portal suddenly reduced slightly.

"Hehehe, now if you enter, you won’t come out." The shaman chief laughed maniacally at his success and his excitement was literally coming out in waves.

"Nice, chief"

"Attack more."

"Hell, yeah"

The excitement transferred to the shamans and they began attacking with more vigor.

"Now, what will you do?" The shaman chief then stuck his hand into his chest and used his own soul sacrifice and joined the attack.

’So they want to stop me from entering.’ Jon frowned at the conclusion he pieced from what just happened.

’Then, there’s no time.’ Without delaying, Jon released blue mist from him in waves.

WHOOM

Upon seeing the blue waves, the shamans retreated back. However the mist didn’t stop and attached around them.

"Huh, nothing?"

"Useless"

"Don’t lower your guard." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Jon then raised his hand and swung down diagonally while muttering,

"Cut"

And without leaving any last words, the shamans fell to the ground.

THUD...THUD...THUD

It was actually one of the first things he could do with the blue mist. Cutting off the connections with their bodies and by controlling his ’Will’ and the mist, he could cut off their consciousness.

And without even wasting time, Jon ran towards the portal.

"JON, NOOO..." Then Jon began hearing the distant voices of Jenny, Cynthia and the rest shouting at him to stop. Honestly, from the way he had been fighting, it was like he had lost all sense of reasoning.

The girls planned to enter the portal after he entered, however a few moment later, the portal reduced, and now Jon was still running towards it.

They thought he was really going to enter, however betraying all the thoughts, he stopped in front of the portal.

’Can I really not come out after entering?’ Jon asked Amelia for confirmation. Even now he was here, the portal was reducing in size.

-Yes. Well, you would have to perform exactly the same event that happened and you would also need the shamans, but I don’t believe you would even start the process, so, No, there is no way.

’Is it just me or is Amelia just excited?’ He didn’t even know what was happening. Amelia was suddenly explaining and talking more when it was decided he couldn’t enter the portal.

And truly, she was excited about him not going. She didn’t know why, but she didn’t want him to change so much than he was already doing at this moment.

Almost every fight he had changed him in a way or the other. And this one was going to be a massacre, there was even a possibility he was going to use those dangerous skills that almost killed him. And that was why, she didn’t tell Jon about what the shaman chief was doing and even distracted him by explaining more in a critical time like this.

She had even seen the last shaman they left behind, however that was beyond her jurisdiction. If she told him, she would surely get punished.

She liked how everything was going and she was about to tell him to give up. However she clearly underestimated the level of his rage,

"Well, I can just do it from here."

And without hesitation he said,

"Principles of inscription"
