Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 42: Purpose Of Training And The Looming Threats
Darius had walked out of the training ground, and his entire body was screaming. He had laid down on the floor of the training ground for about two hours before he could even move a limb.
’Moments like this make you not take your abilities for granted, doesn’t it twig for brains?’ Azree taunted Darius.
Darius couldn’t even reply, he was going to let him win that one and not do anything about it. Going straight for the couch, his hips cried out in pain.
"How soon can I get back in there?" Darius was not going to take his defeat that easily; he wanted to make sure that he would take him down, and nothing would hold him back from doing something to that golem.
{Cooldown Time For The Training Ground: 2 hours maximum!}
’Still not enough time. I need to heal before I walk back in there!’ Darius was a bit frustrated when he heard that it was going to take two hours for the training ground to cool off and that he would be able to do something there again.
’So you would fail again?’ Azree interrupted his thoughts.
’If you go back there, you will make the same mistake you made now or even worse. I know you are trying to make sure that you set the record straight, but you are going to die.’ Azree warned him.
Darius could only sit there alone. He didn’t know what he was going to accomplish sitting there like that, knowing that he was weaker than those golems that could use their own powers.
’They are using my abilities, and they are winning. How on earth am I going to get anything thought about that?!’
A hint of anger lingered in the warrior; he was not sure what he would be able to do to stronger opponents if he was going to be stuck struggling against the golems like that.
’The problem you are having is that you rely on your strength whilst in battle.’ Azree spoke up.
"Huh?" Darius was confused when he heard Azree’s words, "So you are trying to advise me to use my abilities even when I am not in a dungeon?"
’No, I am only trying to give you an instant.’ Azree corrected him, ’ Take your evolved skill, Dragon’s Pull. You only use it as a mid-ranged attack to crush your opponents if they are in a bit of a close range to you, allowing you to do anything you wanted to them. But then imagine you releasing the force and not trying to crush them.’
Darius looked at his hands. He understood what Azree was trying to say, but he didn’t know how effective it was going to be if he was to think of trying it on a being he didn’t know what its capabilities were.
"What if it is a creature like Slav?" Darius aired out his thoughts, he knew that if he was going to be doing things like that, then he would need to be ready for the outcome of a battle that would involve a bigger opponent.
’Then you would need to make sure you are always going to get ready to evolve and not stay in a place. This doesn’t just apply to one of your skills but all of them, so you can use them more efficiently. The more you refine them, then you will see results that would give you a greater edge in battle.’
Hearing that, Darius knew that it was not going to be easy for him to gain them, but he was willing to give it a try. He looked up to see a cup on the counter.
He looked at his hand. He didn’t know what he would gain from trying something that crazy, but he wanted to try something. Focusing all his energy, he stretched his hand.
{Dragon’s Pull Activated}
Darius brought the cup to his hand; he then kept his eyes on it, focusing all his energy. He crushed the cup; he kept his energy focused and managed to reduce the cup to pieces.
’Excellent, you seem to understand what you are doing. Now, instead of using it as a pull and crush. Use it as a release and crush, You will understand what I have told you so far.’ Azree commended him.
Darius looked at the wall, inhaling deeply. Energy coiled around his fingers, pulsing like a living force. He exhaled sharply—Release!—and unleashed a surge of raw power toward the wall.
He managed to dent it. He was stunned to see how strong the force was, and he noticed something on the wall. The dent he caused looked like his palm, almost like he was the one who struck the wall.
"So you mean it is just like me striking someone with my fists?" Darius was still looking at the wall, he never knew that it was something that powerful.
’This is why you need to pay attention to your abilities. In battle, even your weakest abilities might be turned into powerful ones. Take the dragon bullet, for instance, it was a move born when you desperately merged the Dragon Blast and Wrym’s roar. Now I want you to imagine what you can do.’
Darius sat there and he was bubbling with ideas, he knew that there was so many he could do.
"So I am now guessing that the training wasn’t just for me to destroy the golems?" He smiled, he realised that it was him doing something wrong.
’Oh, I see you are now using that brain of yours.’ Azree mocked him. Darius felt a bit defeated, but he was happy.
"Thank you, Azree." Darius smiled. He knew he was going to get even stronger as time went on, but only if he was going to be able to use his abilities wisely.
’You’re welcome. Now, let’s see what more you can do.’ Azree sounded delighted.
Down at the association headquarters, the staff was all in a panic; something out of the ordinary was happening, and it was keeping everyone on the edge of their seat.
Liu and Keith walked into the surveillance room, They were not happy; it was something no one could pin that was giving them a hard time.
"Fill me in on what is happening again." Keith was looking at the screen, he was trying to understand what he was looking at.
"Sir, for the past few days, we had been getting a reading from the west part of the city. At first, it was the reading of an A-ranked Dungeon, but then it rose to S-ranked, and now it is just distorting the mana in the area. Almost like something wants to come through, but it’s being held back."
One of the staff there answered; they were still looking at the screen trying to understand what it was they were seeing.
"So it’s an uncharted dungeon?" Liu asked, looking at them. He was not sure what they were seeing, but he knew something odd was going on.
"Sir, that is the tricky part. There is no dungeon yet, and the energy is even way stronger than that of an uncharted dungeon."
Keith and Liu shared stunned looks when they heard what the man said.
"What in the world are you trying to say? There is no way for something to max out an uncharted dungeon!" Keith sounded a bit surprised, he was not sure if he was going to believe what he was hearing.
"Sir, I checked the reading, and the distortion alone is five times stronger than all the uncharted dungeons that have appeared since the last twenty years." The man was looking at Keith; he turned back to the computer and muttered. "Something is trying to come through, and that thing is on a whole different level."
Liu had been quietly looking at the screen, he couldn’t say anything else. He knew if what the man was saying was true, then there was something coming.
’Oh, heavens help us.’
