Lukas mind whirled with thoughts. A moment later, just when Oriana looked down at him, he closed his eyes and pretended not to notice anything.

Oriana bit her lips, complex thoughts swirling in her mind.

Lukas didn’t know when he fell asleep while pretending to be unaware of his bodily reactions and enjoying Oriana’s massage, but when he woke up, it was already a few hours past noon.

Glancing to the side, he saw a tray of food resting on top of the table.

Immediately, he felt his stomach rumble in hunger. Smiling, he went to wash up before he began digging into the food.

Within minutes, he was done.

"Now, let’s begin." He murmured, sat cross-legged on the bed instead of the hard floor and closed his eyes.

Immediately, he connected to the Lust Rune and began sensing the mana around him.

Soon, however, he frowned. ’There is very little mana in the room.’

From his memories, he knew every villa had a cultivation chamber that had a mana gathering formation installed within it, his villa also had one but...

’The formation needs mana stones to operate.’ He sighed. If he had mana stones, would he bother absorbing ambient mana?

"Let’s try outside." He went out in the courtyard and sat cross-legged beneath a tree which Natalie had planted when she was young.

After sensing the ambient mana and realizing it was denser outside, he slowly and carefully began absorbing it through the rune.

When the first bit of mana entered his body, he almost let out a moan because the sensation was too comfortable and made him want to continue. So, he did.

’Fuck!’ He cursed after a while, his brows furrowed in pain.

While the sensation of mana entering his body and circulating throughout his veins was indeed comfortable, pleasurable even, what followed was painful—the mana veins cleansing.

During the awakening, special formations cleanse all the impurities from the mana veins while making them able to sense mana naturally.

Since he had failed his awakening, all the impurities were still in his mana veins. Not only that, they were more than before because he accumulated more in these eight years.

Now, as mana entered his veins, it found no way to move forward but under Lust Rune’s influence, it had to move forward. So, it began slamming against the impurities like waves of sea, constantly pushing them back and out of the mana veins.

Because most of the impurities had either condensed or were sticking to his veins, the constant impacts of mana caused severe pain.

He had forgotten about the impurities completely, otherwise he would have bought a pain relieving potion from Rohan on credit.

So now, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and endure.

Minutes ticked by and soon two hours had passed.

Temperature dropped by a few degrees as the sun was about to go down the horizon, currently only its last rays illuminated Neera City.

Oriana and a few other maids were sitting in a small park some distance away from the servant quarters, talking amongst themselves.

Suddenly, one of them turned to Oriana, who was silently listening to them talk without trying to join in, and curiously asked, "Oriana, I heard Fourth Young Lord went to the market and bought several Grade One magic items, is that true?"

Oriana looked at the maid with sharp features and narrow eyes and bit her tongue. She didn’t want to talk about Lukas because she knew they would end up mocking him which would infuriate her.

But since she had already brought him up and Lukas would soon change his image in people’s minds, she calmly nodded, "That’s right. The Young Lord really bought some things today."

The maid gave her an envious look and sighed, "I really envy you, Oriana. I wish I was also one of Young Lords’ personal maid. If I also served him without my everything and made him happy, maybe he could have bought me a few things too."

As soon as she finished, the other maids cast judgemental looks toward Oriana.

"Watch your words, Madison!" Oriana snarled in rage, her expression turned dark.

She cared not what they said about her because she knew many of them were jealous of her because she was a personal maid while they were ordinary ones. However, she cared about Lukas’ reputation and couldn’t endure it when they tried to slander him.

Madison flinched, a hint of fear flashing in her eyes, but she suppressed it and curled her lips, "What? Did I say anything wrong?"

Not giving her any chance, she swept her gaze across other maids, asking, "We all know the Fourth Young Lord is a cr—he can’t cultivate. So, what needs does he have of the Grade One things, especially the ones that aren’t useful for ordinary people at all? She clearly seduced him to buy them for—"

As she spoke, she grew more animated. Oriana could no longer hold herself back and jumped off her seat and crossed a few meter distance between them in an instant and swung her palm toward her face.

Slap!

Madison wasn’t looking toward her. By the time she noticed her from her peripheral vision, Oriana’s palm had connected with her right cheek and a crisp slapping sound echoed, interrupting her words.

"If you don’t know how to speak, just keep your mouth shut. Don’t spew out this filth." Oriana coldly said.

Madison cupped her reddened cheek, staring at Oriana with anger, humiliation and fear in her eyes.

"Y-You dare hit me?" She shrieked like a banshee.

Slap!

Oriana slapped her other cheek before asking, "Now you believe or need more confirmation?"

Madison’s lips trembled and her mouth opened but she dared not let out another peep. Seeing this, Oriana ignored her and swept her gaze across the group of stunned maids,

"You all know me and her very well. There shouldn’t be a need for me to tell you what is the truth. So, I hope none of you spread any of her filthy rumors... for your own sake."

Saying this, she turned around and left the garden, a small smile playing on her lips.

’How satisfying!’
