Legacy of The Arcane Lust Mage-Chapter 7: I’m Not Late, Right?
Chapter 7: I’m Not Late, Right?
In the dining hall of the Viscount Mansion, several people were sitting around a long, rectangular table.
On the right side of the table were six seats, five of which were currently occupied by five beautiful women dressed in beautiful dresses.
These five were Viscount Raymond’s wives and the only empty seat belonged to Helen, who had left Neera to take care to oversee and settle some issues with the business in another city.
The left side also had six seats, but only three of them were occupied.
In the seat nearest to the still empty head seat sat a six or seven-year-old, cute, doll-like girl who was currently restlessly shifting in her seat, looking in the direction of the kitchen while drooling. Clearly, she couldn’t wait to eat. Unfortunately, the food would be served only after her father arrived.
In the seat next to her sat another girl, who was looking at her with an amused look in her eyes.
Her beautiful, heart-shaped face was framed by her brown hair. Her hazel eyes were pretty, and her thin pink lips were tempting. Her green dress, akin to a gown, hugged her full chest and slender waist, enhancing her allure before flowing down and covering her long, slender legs.
"Layla, sit properly and act like a lady." The woman sitting in the fifth chair on the right side scolded the young girl, causing her to pout and then wipe her drool with her handkerchief and sit straight.
This woman, clearly younger than the other four, was the sixth wife of Viscount Raymond, Lena Killian.
"Lena, don’t be so harsh on little Layla. She is still young and has time to learn proper etiquette."
The woman sitting in the first seat, dressed in a beautiful floral red dress, smiled kindly at Layla.
Lena glanced at her and sighed, "You all spoil her, First Sister. I have been trying to teach her for the past few days, but once she is out of my sight, she reverts to her mischievous state."
"Haha, that’s what kids do. Let her enjoy herself." First Sister, Simone, chuckled.
Layla gave Simone a wide smile before looking at her mother, innocently blinking her bright big eyes, seemingly asking, ’Can I relax now?’
Lena smiled wryly but shook her head, "Your father is about to arrive. Behave."
Layla’s shoulders drooped.
Beside her, the young lady, Raymond’s third daughter, Amara, extended her hand and pinched Layla’s adorable cheek and whispered, "Just wait for a while. Once our father is here, you can act as you like."
Layla flung her hand away, aggrievedly rubbing her cheek, but hearing her words, her eyes lit up.
That was right. Given how much her father doted on her, he wouldn’t let her mother bully her.
Though Amara spoke in a low voice, Issac, sitting in the chair next to her, and the five ladies, being high-stage One Star mages, heard her, and a complex look flashed in their eyes. Lena even clenched her fists under the table, her body trembling as if in rage, but her expression remained placid.
Amara sneaked a glance at the five women, and noticing their expressions—helpless resignation—she felt her heart turn cold.
"Tch!" Issac clicked his tongue in annoyance.
’I wish I was talented. I would have become stronger than my bastard father and could have all these women to myself.’ He thought, sweeping his gaze across the ladies present in the dining hall, feeling his loins become hot.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
Just then, footsteps sounded, and everyone sat straight as they looked toward the entrance of the dining hall where a short, 5’5’’, middle-aged man in violet robes was walking over.
He wasn’t handsome or had the domineering and regal vibe that strong people and people in high positions usually had. Despite that, however, not only was he one of the strongest people in Neera City, he also held the highest position of authority—he was Viscount Raymond, a peak Two Star mage.
"Welcome My Lord!"
"Welcome Lord Husband!"
"Welcome Father!"
The maid bowed in respect while the five mistresses, Issac, Amara, and Layla all stood up and also bowed.
Ordinarily, only maids, servants, and subordinates welcomed their lord like this, but Raymond wanted everyone, be it his wives, his sons, or his daughters, to do the same. In his words, they were also his people like everyone else and should respect him like them too.
Raymond swept his gaze across the bowing maids and then his beautiful wives, which made his eyes light up, and then Layla and Amara. As for Issac, he ignored him completely.
’You lecherous bastard!’ Issac scoffed inwardly but kept a respectful expression on his face.
"At ease." He said in a deep and low voice before walking over and sitting in the head seat.
Immediately, all the maids moved and started bringing already prepared food from the kitchen and started serving them.
Raymond glanced at his wives, gracefully sitting in their chairs and watching the food being served, and then turned his gaze to Amara, who, upon feeling his gaze, fixed her gaze onto the table, her breathing deepening.
After the maids served the food, they rapidly left the hall.
Raymond smiled at Layla and beckoned her over. Layla jubilantly jumped down from her chair and went over. He lifted her up onto his lap and started caressing her small head with a fatherly smile on his face.
Layla beamed and asked, "Can I start eating, father?"
"Yes, go ahead." Raymond smilingly nodded.
As Layla dug into the food in front of her and as Lena tried her best not to look at Raymond and her daughter, he looked at Amara and asked, "Little Amara, are you feeling alright now?"
"Y-Yes, father. I’m feeling better than before, but I still—" Amara nervously said, not daring and willing to meet his gaze.
Raymond interrupted her and smiled, "Good. Come to my room in the evening. I have some medicine prepared for you. You’ll feel better after taking it."
"T-There is no need, father. I’ll get better soon as long as I rest enough." Amara trembled when she heard him, quickly shaking her head.
"Hm?" Raymond narrowed his eyes, "You are going to disobey me?"
Amara clenched her jaws. She knew his intentions and was repulsed by him. If she could, she never even wanted to see him.
Unfortunately, she was helpless and it seemed after barely managing to avoid him for two years since he started showing interest in her, today she would finally...
"Heh, it seems I’m not late."
Just as she was going to resign herself to her fate, a low but magnetic voice sounded, attracting everyone’s attention.
