Legacy of the Void Fleet-Chapter 313: CH
By the end of it, he was barely able to defend himself against their brutal attacks. That feeling was truly terrible, and it was there that he learned an important lesson—a lesson he wouldn't dare forget. After all, who knows? If he repeated a mistake like that, only God knows what the Imperial Commander would do to him in his "Devil Form"!!
Upon remembering these memories of his, he shuddered for a moment before confidently speaking.
"Heh, as if this won't affect you, huh, little blade? Huh?" he spoke with a sly grin forming on his face.
"Last time, the Imperial Commander held you after all... that was indeed my mistake at that time. But perhaps you have forgotten what happened the second time, when I did what I was supposed to, but you didn't! Then it was you who got punished and thrown into the Thunder Domain for a whole week!"
Hearing this, the dark blade's spiritual manifestation shuddered z if struck by lightning. It was as if it really felt the pain of the past event just upon mentioning it.
And indeed, that was the case; the dark blade also crushed inwardly. "Damn this sly bastard! He didn't forget that! Dammit, I should have thought about it before even starting this topic, the dark blade thought in shame and defeat."
After all, what Kael had said was the truth and indeed had happened.
But the Dark Blade, like many other transcendent-grade arcane technological weapons, had its own pride and wouldn't give up, no matter what.
"Heh, what is there to worry about? A spirit of my grade doesn't make such a meager mistake twice! And had it not been for being bound to a dumb person like you, how would my awakened spiritual and untrained thoughts have made such a mistake?
All that happened because I took after your spirituality and thought process! And now that I'm more mature than I was at that time, the possibility of making a mistake is almost zero to none."
"So, I suggest you, 'Master,'" it said with an arrogant and defiant tone, "if you have babbled all your baby talk, then you should prepare, because I'm going to start the spiritual synchronisation. You better not make a mistake, or see how I will make you pay when we go back to the Regal Star System!"
With a snort, the spiritual manifestation of the Dark Blade entered Kael's body and directly into his mana core, starting to release waves of spiritual power.
Kael also snorted, feeling irritated and wanting to refute him, but seeing that little Dark Blade entering his mana core and releasing spiritual power within, he stopped.
Meanwhile, the mech(real body of dark blade) itself began to siphon the mana from the surroundings, absorbing it and cycling it through its internal system and then eventually into him in but an instant.
"Damn, no time to argue!" Kael spoke urgently.
He quickly began to utilising his own spiritual power and divine sense to control the inflow of the vast amount of magical energy entering his mana veins through the mech (dark blade) system. He pushed his own spiritual power/mana out of his body while constantly maintaining control of the magical energy that—under Dark Blade's real body and spiritual body—was being released into him.
Slowly but surely, and at a fast pace at the same time, his and the Dark Wing's magical/spiritual energy merged. Though they were not thoroughly merged, and there was still quite a gap before a complete merger, they were under absolute control.
They mixed with each other to the extent that they didn't seem like two different kinds of spiritual energy; instead, they worked in tandem as they cycled through the mech and his own body.
As the cycle continued—one time, the second, the third, and so on—waves of soul energy washed over Kael's consciousness. His divine sense also synchronised with the mech's own system and expanded by two times.
The mech's body as if by the result of there spiritual merger trembled from that moment, and in an instant, its dragon-like eyes opened with a blue, flame-like light, giving it an oppressive presence.
With the opening of the mech's eyes and its core system at the same time, Kael felt his vision blur before clearing again.
But this time, he wasn't seeing the inside of the cockpit through his combat helmet—instead, he was seeing through the eyes of Dark Blade's real body. This was the result of the particular merge between the two.
This was the true power of a spiritual soul-machine unification. Though standard mechs—at least within the Void Fleet—all come with neural link technology that gives one control over the mech as if it were part of their own body, the Dark Blade, as a transcendent-grade arcane technological weapon, possessed much more practicality and application compared to neural link technology.
This was because the link was happening at a spiritual level!
The benefits of the spiritual synchronization linking the weapon, the weapon's spirit, and the pilot were twofold:
First and foremost was the zero latency. In simple words, the synchronisation between Kael and Black Wing became such that the mech, in a literal sense, became a part of his own body. This allowed him an unmatched level of mobility and reaction speed that was enhanced twofold in this state.
Basically, there was no delay in the mech's movement; if he wished to raise his left hand, it would raise just as any normal human hand does by thought—naturally!
Second was the enhanced perception, an equally important function of spiritual synchronication.
As he and Dark Blade had basically become one through their spiritual synchronisation, Kael's own divine sense combined with the advanced hyper-quantum sensing equipment of Black Wing that were a more advance application of dive sense itself .
This gave him not only a much clearer perception of every nook and cranny of the battlefield at the forefront, but also of everything around him.
And the third—also the most practical ability based on its application—was energy enhancement.
Both his own magical and spiritual power were not only pure, but also carried the force of laws within them. Kael, like the others, was close to breaking into the Genesis Law Realm and had already comprehended multiple laws.
Because of this, his refined energy contained law force, granting him vastly greater power and magical energy compared to other cultivators.
Combined with Dark Blade's own spiritual and magical power—which it absorbed directly from the natural environment and refined in real time until it became just as pure as his own—the effect was overwhelming.
Since the surrounding natural energy was practically infinite, it allowed Kael to maintain combat for a far longer duration. This would last until his own body, which was still weaker compared to Dark Blade's true body, could no longer withstand the strain of such a level of energy infusion.
However, that wasn't truly a concern for him. As a quasi–Genesis Law Realm combatant, his body was already far more powerful than normal and could support prolonged combat and enhanced power.
And there was still much more to energy enhancement than just this—but that was a matter for later.
Finally, in mere seconds—yes, all of this process did not take minutes to complete, despite being such a difficult transformation—Kael felt the newfound strength come fully under his control. As he clenched his hand, the mech's own hand clenched in tandem.
"This power…" Kael said in a longing tone. "I really can't get enough of it. Who would believe in this vast galaxy that with a single synchronization, my strength could multiply twofold at the very least? This feeling… it's like drinking the most sacred wine—once you taste it, you only want more."
Just then, interrupting his thoughts, a voice echoed in his mind. It was obviously none other than Dark Blade, whose sea of spiritual power was curling within his mana core.
Heh, that's the majesty of this transcendent weapon that you obtained through sheer dumb luck—something you actually had the chance to lay your hands on.
Hearing that, Kael couldn't help but nod. He remembered his past life, where weapons like Dark Blade practically didn't exist—and even if they did, they were so rare that he would never have had a chance to encounter one.
The only comparable thing was the power he had once witnessed back then, though even now he wasn't completely sure about it.
He couldn't help but feel immense respect and gratitude toward the Imperial Commander for granting him—and the others—such powerful weapons without any reservation. He let out a quiet sigh.
As a thought passed through his mind… this life was something that I already owed to him. Because if not for him, would Kael even have had the chance to reincarnate?
And perhaps, far in the future, gain the opportunity to take his revenge on those who had wronged him—despite the fact that he himself had done no injustice to deserve such a fate?
