Legacy of the Void Fleet-Chapter 339: Ch
Basically in this operation not only were highly complex technologies used to control and create artificial gravity, but also to form and develop suitable solutions to melt the ice plains of the southern hemisphere of Mars, and to create other essential models to support the artificial environment, so that the planet would not regress to its original dead state again in the future.
Not forgetting the great shield that was created around it so as to protect Mars’ atmosphere. As the biggest problem with Mars isn’t just that it’s cold or that the environment is unstable. Those were actually the easiest things to solve. The real problem was the global magnetic field.
While gravity did its work just as well, most of it relied on mana-based technology. And with insufficient mana around the whole solar region, though it was still slowly rising, it wasn’t enough to support the operation of the mana-gravitational field. (Which is basically a gravitational field creation system derived from technology whose properties are enhanced by rune technology and mana-based energy.) And the normal one simply isn’t sufficient at all for the long term.
So, to create an extra layer of protection from the solar winds that act like a sandblaster, which could slowly chip the newly created atmosphere away into space, a magnetic dipole shield at the L1 Lagrange point was placed there until the mana or super-gravitational field could be fully operated.
That was about Mars, where everything was already done for the most part, and the planet was totally ready to welcome its first official inhabitants. If a planet had its own consciousness, certainly it would have been happy. Though it wasn’t, so anyway.
Mars wasn’t the only place that had been terraformed. After all, if it were just this, then the talk about complete changes until the whole solar system became unrecognizable would become a joke.
Titan (Saturn’s moon) was also terraformed, as Titan is the only moon with a substantial atmosphere, which makes it an even better candidate than Mars or other planets.
It had a couple of its own changes, and they were dealt with in a more magical fashion than even Mars. One of the major problems of Titan was its extreme cold temperatures, which are about −179 degrees Celsius.
This problem was basically solved using two methods. One was that Titan’s northern pole was flushed with an Inferno Sun Fire Lotus. This was one of the earthly treasures found on one of the discord planets of Magman in the Universal Domain. These earthly treasures could exist even with scarce mana in the surroundings while generating high heat and making the nearby area literally a magma field, without creating any hazards.
So this one plant was planted on the northern pole of Titan and was nurtured with various treasures to boost its growth during half a month. During that time the extreme icy temperature of Titan was drastically reduced from about −179 degrees Celsius to around 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, which is also close to Earth’s average.
But that wasn’t the whole planet’s temperature, as it still floated between −170 to −160 degrees in most places. Only the northern pole, basically the area consisting of rocks and the hard surface of Titan, had this atmosphere where the temperature was 15 to 20 degrees. Even though the Sun Fire Lotus was an earthly treasure that possessed enough power to transform the area around it, that area still had its own limits, and it couldn’t extend beyond that.
But before this process even started, to be more cautious and to avoid Titan becoming an eternal ocean world, another measure was taken. After all, nearly half of it was made up of ice and water. So if the overall temperature of Titan rose to around 15 to 20 degrees, it would melt most of the ice covering its surface. Nearly half of Titan’s surface was not made up of hard rock, but of ice bedrock.
And if that happened, Titan would become a world of water with a global ocean that could reach several hundred kilometers in depth, leaving no dry land for humans to stand upon and making this whole effort a waste.
So along with the Sun Fire Lotus, an Extreme Ice Pearl, another earthly treasure, was planted deep within the southern pole underneath the bedrock of Titan, freezing it all into another layer of extremely cold and denser ice. The temperature there even circulated and captured the whole half of Titan.
Other changes were similarly handled using both technologies and runes, along with various earthly and heavenly treasures, in order to stabilize the transformation.
Earth’s own moon had its own terraforming as well. But because the Moon didn’t have its own atmosphere to speak of, there were no gases to start with. And the idea of paraterraforming, building giant enclosed domes, was out of the question and something the whole Void Fleet didn’t like at all, as it had its own risks.
In a hypothetical invasion from another power, if they targeted those domes they could decently breach the enclosed structures after the shields were down. And if a dome was breached, all the living within could be under numerous dangers. Though the chances of this happening were very small, it could still happen, and so it was considered a safety hazard.
But the Moon not having its own atmosphere was already a troublesome thing to deal with, along with moon dust that is sharp like glass. Breathing it could damage lungs, not forgetting the harm it could cause to machinery.
So terraforming the Moon was definitely the most challenging part of all. Many earthly and even heavenly treasures were used, along with even a low-grade mana vein to help the earthly and heavenly treasures stabilize the created atmosphere.
The process was not only hard but complex, since all these heavenly and earthly treasures had their own properties that differed from each other. So achieving synergy and stability among them was something difficult to accomplish.
Meanwhile Earth had gone through its own fair changes. First of all, global pollution and waste, be it plastic, nuclear, or anything else, were cleared separately. Many factories around the world were shut down, as they were outright deemed outdated and inefficient when the Federation received advanced applications from the Void Fleet, technologies they didn’t hesitate to implement across their respective domains. (The Federation itself was the global council formed by the combination of many countries.)
Waste, whether plastic or electronic, was deleted using an Atomic Breaker, a material recycler that broke down each material at the atomic level and reformed them into their original form so they could be used once again.
The major thing to notice was the sharp disappearance of population throughout the Earth. As one could see, almost about 2.234 billion people were no longer on Earth, and this category mostly consisted of those between the ages of 18 to 35.
All these people, on the month of March 16, were taken away by their own will by the Void Fleet somewhere. It was seen as an opportunity that many people understood and willingly took.
Those who were left were either young children who, from a young age, after going through their own genetic enhancement at the age of two, joined preschool. There the basic subjects were covered. These basics were literally the same ones usually taught in the 10th or even 12th class, and the children were quite easily able to absorb this knowledge due to their advanced cognitive abilities.
From there they moved through middle school, high school, and university, following the curriculum made by the Void Fleet, taught by people who had already absorbed and advanced this bit of knowledge when they themselves learned it within the Universal Domain time lapse.
Similarly, large schools and universities were opened in the name of the Void Fleet, such as the Imperial Academy, the Imperial Military Academy, and others throughout major locations on Earth. These institutions were very popular among the people. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Though the Federation’s own schools and universities, even if far behind, still had their own popularity. After all, the Void academies could only absorb so many students within them.
While those left from the group of 24 to 60 (now that human lifespan had increased to an average of about 200 years after going through the gene advancements), even ages like 60, 80, or even 100 were no longer considered the age of retirement. They all joined various departments of their respective domain governments, while most prepared for their departure from Earth to other recently claimed planets throughout the solar system and even other star systems.
Some of those reclaimed planets outside Earth, like in the Alpha Centauri system such as Proxima b and d, were also terraformed and given to the Federation to develop and oversee. Most of the Federation’s population, which was now less than about 6 billion, remained on Earth after many had already left for the Galactic Domain, a place about which they still had no real idea.
