Legend of Dragon Son-in-law-Chapter 347 - : Knocking on the Door_1
Chapter 347: Chapter 347: Knocking on the Door_1
Hamza, as one of the practical fighters within Skyfire, although his individual combat capability was far less than that of the Saint Heir and the other protectors, was more than capable of crushing others.
That year, Hamza went alone to assassinate a leader of an organization, single-handedly and unarmed defeated dozens of men, and ultimately used his fists to kill the boss of that organization.
Now, he couldn’t even defeat a bunch of lackeys he looked down upon, which caused a burning pain on his face.
Although he was injured, this was no excuse.
He picked out the weakest one, which was somewhat shameful, but ultimately, it could salvage a bit of his dignity.
However, the seemingly weak opponent disappeared the moment he made a move!
Hamza felt a chill on his back and instinctively turned around.
Whoosh!
He saw the skinny man launch a kick in the air, sending Hamza tumbling to the ground.
Spurt!
Hamza was sent flying, spitting a mouthful of fresh blood. He only felt his blood and energy churn, as if all his bones had fallen apart.
“My apologies!” The skinny man chuckled, cupping his hands as he stepped back.
“No matter, I just wanted to see how strong you are, to see if you’re suitable to follow my subordinates,” Hamza said awkwardly as he climbed up from the ground, forcing a smile, “You’re quite strong; following my orders won’t be a disgrace.”
“Thank you for the compliment, Leader Eulalia!” The skinny man replied with hands cupped, his tone extremely respectful.
“Having defeated me, how come you don’t seem the least bit happy?” Hamza approached the skinny man, about to praise his composure and calm demeanor.
But before he could finish his praise, the skinny man spoke, “Frankly, defeating Leader Eulalia was expected, nothing to be happy about. In terms of strength, you are no match for us.”
“You!” Hamza was so angered that his blood surged, nearly causing him to fall over.
He turned to Julius Reed, gasping for breath, and asked, “How can I lead such subordinates? On their first day, they have no respect for me at all, if we go out on a mission, we’ll be nothing but a disorganized mess!”
Just as Hamza was starting to feel a bit better, he immediately became irritable again, mainly because of the dissatisfaction with the humiliation he had endured.
He was powerful, but standing in full view, he had been injured by a subordinate’s soldier; if he were to lead these people out, he feared he wouldn’t be able to command any of them.
“You can rest assured about this,” Julius Reed stood up and walked slowly towards Hamza, “These are all my men, and they’re all skilled. They may be strong, but they are straightforward in character. And they are right; you are indeed weak, but this doesn’t hinder your ability to be their leader. When it comes to carrying out orders, my men never falter.”
All these men were the elite forces sent over by Cold Nelson, who usually guarded the Demarco Mount of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance sanctuary, not to mention their formidable strength, their loyalty was impeccable as well.
Even the leaders of the other three factions that guarded Demarco Mount would have to ask their subordinates for permission if they wanted to revolt.
Hence, they could only act covertly, with no one daring to openly rebel.
“They’re all your men?” Hearing Julius Reed’s words, Hamza was extremely surprised.
To be able to summon so many experts so casually, Skyfire’s downfall was not unjustified.
Thinking this, he was even more relieved that he had defected to the enemy; otherwise, he would have faced certain death and his organization’s destruction.
“Right! The number of men is not too many; if you need, I can call more at any time,” Julius Reed said, patting Hamza’s shoulder and speaking softly, “Please trouble yourself to make a trip to the Ridge Family and make sure Truman Ridge is beaten half to death. Only then will he be able to make a call to that mysterious woman, and we can provoke a rift between the two.”
“As you command!” Looking at the formidable subordinates in front of him, Hamza dared not harbor any more hopes of getting lucky.
Even with an injured arm and hand, he would rush to the Ridge Family without stopping to ensure this task was done immaculately.
“Mr. Reed, I hope you will leave the Saint Heir to me!” He turned around and said in a low voice.
If it wasn’t for the Saint Heir pressing him hard, if it weren’t for the Saint Heir’s slanderous words, he would still be a small boss in Skyfire, enjoying a reputation for loyalty.
But now, everything was over.
Reputation completely ruined.
However, in hindsight, it was a blessing in disguise, at least avoiding perishing alongside the “Skyfire”. Even if I were to bear the name of a traitor, if I didn’t side with Julius Reed, wouldn’t I still be cursed as a traitor?
“No problem! As long as you help me uncover the secrets within, you can deal with the Saint Heir or even the master of Skyfire!” Julius Reed laughed heartily and turned to walk into the room inside.
Watching Julius Reed’s departing figure, Hamza let out a long sigh and beckoned to the people behind him, “Follow me!”
…
The Ridge Family gate.
“Father, why did the butler die?” ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Anselm Ridge asked his elderly father, his emotions running high.
The butler had seen them grow up; Truman Ridge’s children regarded the butler as their own father, already forming a deep emotional bond.
Now, the butler had been inexplicably murdered within the Ridge Family’s home, and the perpetrator had not been found, naturally leaving the children extremely dissatisfied.
“The butler has been with the Ridge Family for over a decade, almost like a shadow of the father. If we ignore this matter, how will we face others when it gets out?”
“Indeed! Since the Ridge Family wishes to venture out, we must show some attitude to these people. To brazenly commit murder within our family, they clearly have no respect for the Ridge Family!”
Upon learning of the elder Ridge’s intentions of coming out of retirement, the younger generation of the Ridge Family, driven to the brink of madness, volunteered one after another, hoping to blaze a trail for the Ridge Family.
After all, for these super-rich second-generation members, being confined to the mountains without the freedom to blatantly flaunt their family background and wealth was an excruciating experience.
With the Ridge Family intending to step out and become the overt overlord of Five-river Province, these individuals would undoubtedly relish the feeling of being the center of attention and awe.
The death of the butler, such an important figure, within Truman Ridge’s room enraged the Ridge children.
“Silence!”
Woosh!
Truman Ridge struck the ground forcefully, his cane even becoming somewhat deformed from the impact.
“Father!” Anselm Ridge knelt on the ground, “This matter, cannot simply be let go!”
He was the most outstanding of the younger generation of the Ridge Family, and the first pupil Truman Ridge had sent out.
Lately, Anselm Ridge had socialized with the prominent figures of the province, and flaunting his Ridge Family identity, he often spent money extravagantly, leaving such an impression of the Ridge Family within the province.
Just wait for the Ridge Family to annihilate Julius Reed and make a high-profile return, and the whole world would realize this was the true Ridge Family!
Moreover, most of the local wealthy merchants had already joined the Boulevard League; those who had not, like Miguel Abbott, met a perfectly reasoned death.
The only thing standing in the Ridge Family’s way of coming out was Julius Reed!
“Everyone, be quiet!”
Truman Ridge sighed heavily, feeling a twinge of pain in his chest.
The butler had been killed by a mysterious woman who commanded the green-clothed swordsman. Although the Ridge Family had numerous skilled fighters, they couldn’t handle so many green-clothed swordsmen.
“I naturally…”
“Report! A group of Skyfire people are standing outside the gate, currently loudly hurling insults!”
A Ridge Family servant rushed into the house in a panic, knelt on the ground, and reported.
