Chapter 46: Master Shen’s Amazement

When Felix gained enlightenment to his sword techniques, maxing their levels, he realized that the Rainwalker Style wasn’t a sword technique for a single execution.

It wasn’t like a thunder—a single manifestation of its existence could end someone’s life.

Rather, it was like rain drops that took years to split a stone.

In other words, for him to successfully injure Master Shen’s finger, he has to attack not a single powerful strike at once nor twice, but multiple times.

Once he took a simple stance, he stepped forward and attacked Master Shen’s finger multiple times in a second.

To increase the momentum of his assault, he also executed the Pattering Step, vanishing and reappearing in different direction.

Master Shen’s eyes widened. He had never expect Felix to grow unprecedentedly.

He thought. Just yesterday, he could only perfect a single precise strike, but now, he’s been targeting the same place for three strikes or more in a second? Only off by millimeter.

After five seconds passed, Master Shen began to perceive a sharp jolting pain from his finger.

He was startled awake.

He glanced at Felix and perceived he still has stamina left to last for five seconds more.

Borrowing the energy from the sword to amplify his attack, Felix successfully injured him.

Another five seconds, Felix’s momentum began to wear down. Eventually, he stopped while puffing heavily.

He glanced at Master Shen’s index finger and was stunned.

He successfully left a lacerated wound.

Blood began to drip to the floor and Felix glanced at Rain’s body. The blood was already cleaned by Rain himself, but the residue was visible through the floor, creating a web-like art.

He was dumbfounded.

I injured a Lord rank?

A Beast Tamer Lord Rank was two major rank higher than him. If a Commander Rank could now summon a beast space to hide their beast pet, a Beast Tamer Lord’s beast pet reached Unique Rank and their beast space widened and altered to occupy beasts for their preferred environment.

Their strength also reached a level where ten Beast Tamer Commander would fail to defeat him when they attacked at once.

Even if the Beast Tamer Lord was by himself, without his beast pet, he could defeat them.

Hence, it was really surprising for Felix to injure a Beast Tamer Lord, even when the latter appeared to be holding back.

Just as he fell into a daze, a miniature fuzzy version of Master Shen’s beast pet, a blue serpent, slithered around Master Shen’s finger and licked the lacerated wound.

The lacerated wound healed instantly without leaving a scar.

Before the blue serpent vanished, it hissed at Felix.

Felix smiled awkwardly and bowed deeply.

He was about to apologize, when Master Shen said, "It’s really funny that an Awakener rank is apologizing to a Lord rank for injuring him."

Felix immediately shut his mouth. He was quite nervous now.

How stupid of me to try apologizing for injuring him!

Master Shen chuckled. "Raise your head."

Felix followed his order.

Master Shen said, "I noticed that you’re relying on your sword a lot. I suggest that when you train, you should do it with a wooden sword. Even if your sword is considered as a summon, since you already have a beast pet, I won’t allow you to use that sword."

Felix nodded with a solemn face.

He assured Master Shen. "I understand, Master Shen. I’ve also realized the problem the moment I took my assessment earlier. Over reliant on the sword might only hold me back."

Master Shen smiled. "On the side note, since it takes month for your beast pet to grow up, I’ll allow you to use that sword if you’re fighting against a Commander rank."

Felix beamed a smile. "Thank you, Master Shen."

"Mhm. You can leave now." Master Shen turned his back against him and returned to his favorite place.

Felix bowed deeply and returned to his room.

...

Once he returned to his room and sat at the bed, he placed Moon in front of him and chatted with her.

"Moon, I’ll have to leave you to your place away from me. Do you think you can handle it?"

Moon nodded without hesitation.

She replied by meowing, "Yes, of course. But, I want a place that is radiating my favorite energy."

Felix smiled and nodded.

He grabbed Moon’s armpit and placed her at his shoulder. He then proceeded at the small sliding door to his room.

It was a hall that led to the beast quarters.

Felix had to walk for a minute straight before finally arriving to the beast quarters.

There was an instructor, who managed the beast quarters, currently checking each of the beast’s condition.

He was the instructor of Beast Sync Arena. From his disposition and aura he exuded, Felix could immediately perceived he was quite a strict one.

The instructor instantly recognized Felix, he was quite famous not only on the outside, but inside the Azure Cleave Dojo.

After all, Master Shen grew fond of him to the point he often talked about Felix when the senior instructors gathered together in the Canal Pavilion.

The instructor walked towards Felix and said in an easy-going tone, "Congratulations for your first beast pet. Are you here to look for her place, right?"

Felix nodded. "Yes, Instructor."

The instructor glanced at Moon for quite sometime and said, "Since you get the room for Top 6, your beast quarters has a place that can change the climate at will. I assume she likes cold climate, right?"

"That is correct, Instructor. But, do you think there’s a resting object that radiated lunar energy?"

The instructor was stunned.

He was silent for a while.

"So, your beast pet is a dual affinity beast, huh? Lunar energy is rare. You probably can buy it in the Beastore, but it might be costly."

Felix wanted to smack his face after forgetting the very important object for Moon.

The instructor said, "However, there are rocks many rocks outside that has been exposed by moon for years. The lunary energy might be faded because of the sunlight, rocks with special elements could absorb and store more lunar energy than solar one."

He waved his hand and a turtle of a massive size turtle appeared in front of him.

The Instructor crouched down and patted his head, saying, "Can you look for a rock that radiated lunary energy outside?"

The turtle nodded heavily at his master.

The Instructor smiled and stood up. The turtle suddenly ran forward, passing his master in an instant.

Felix laughed at the way he ran.
