FBI Los Angeles Branch, Investigation Team Two, office area.

Upon hearing the technical agent utter the name John Hinckley, the faces in the room changed colors like a dye workshop—there were shades of red, green, purple, and black.

John Hinckley, born in 1955, became infamous across the nation for his assassination attempt on federal President Ling Zong Reagan in 1981.

Usually, someone who attempts to assassinate a President does so for political reasons, personal vendettas, or for gain.

But John Hinckley was different. His aim in attempting to assassinate the President was to gain fame, in order to attract and pursue a famous Hollywood actress, Jodie Foster.

After this truth came to light, the nation was in uproar. Jodie Foster's acting career came to a halt for many years, and she refused to comment on any matter.

However, since his father was very wealthy, John Hinckley, despite his attempt on the President, was not sentenced to death but instead was admitted to a mental institution.

The issue of whether John Hinckley truly had a mental illness has been a topic of continuous debate throughout the years within the federation.

But now, everyone in the office area of Investigation Team Two can affirm one thing for certain: Kaden Smith, the guy who visits the psychiatric hospital more frequently than his own home, definitely has a mental illness.

Furthermore, given that Kaden Smith claims John Hinckley as his idol, the agents of Investigation Team Two exchanged glances and instantly came to a unanimous conclusion:

This guy might attempt to assassinate the current President Bush!

"I'll report this immediately!"

Levis and Valita also arrived at this conclusion, so without a second thought, they pulled out their mobile phones to make a call to Washington.

"So, where has Kaden Smith been living since he left the psychiatric hospital?"

Just then, Luo An suddenly raised his hand, attracting everyone's attention, and spoke loudly:

"The suspect stole three bombs, and bomb-maker Thomas hasn't been dead for long, so there's a high probability that we can find him in California!"

"Yes! Yes! Yes!"

"That's correct!"

Hearing Luo An's words, Levis and Group Leader Owen also snapped to attention, quickly turning their gaze to the technical agent of Investigation Team Two.

Before the technical agent of Investigation Team Two could reply, Mona, who had just taken the laptop from Luo An, answered loudly:

"According to federal social security and credit card records, Kaden Smith is currently living with his sister's family! Their house address is in South Los Angeles!"

"…"

Upon hearing this, Group Leader Owen and Lucian and the others' expressions stiffened. Just as they were about to speak, a technical agent nearby raised his hand and said loudly:

"I just found the vehicle driven by Kaden Smith on a surveillance camera on a street in North Los Angeles!"

"Well done!"

"Excellent work!"

Lucian, Jack, and the others immediately smiled and clapped their hands in praise, then turned to look at Group Leader Owen, saying:

"We'll depart immediately to arrest Kaden Smith!"

Group Leader Owen nodded:

"The suspect has bombs; remember to call for SWAT support!"

"Understood!"

With the firm command, Lucian immediately turned and dashed with Jack and Ivy towards the equipment room.

Seeing this, Luo An thought for a moment and said:

"Then I'll lead Reesi and the others to Kaden Smith's sister's house. Maybe we'll find something."

"OK."

Levis nodded in agreement, and Group Leader Owen added:

The source of this c𝐨ntent is freeweɓnovēl.coɱ.

"Call for backup immediately if you encounter any dangerous situation."

"Alright."

Luo An agreed and went into the equipment room with Mona to gather some gear. Then, he and Lucian's teams went in opposite directions—north and south—simultaneously departing the FBI Los Angeles Branch building.

The SUV sped through the streets of Los Angeles. Reid sat in the backseat, conserving his energy, while Reesi stared intently out the window beside him. It was quite hot in Los Angeles, and the streets were packed with scantily clad beauties.

Seated in the passenger seat, Mona continued to tap on the keyboard while quietly asking,

"Luo An, why are we going to Kaden Smith's sister's house? Wouldn't it have been better to go arrest Kaden Smith together with Lucian and the others just now?"

Mona was somewhat unhappy. She felt that the credit belonging to Team Five was about to be snatched away by Lucian's team.

Maneuvering the steering wheel with ease and overtaking several cars, Luo An smiled and answered:

"We're going to Kaden Smith's sister's house because it's highly likely we can figure out who Kaden Smith wanted to kill with the bomb."

From the back seat, Reesi posed a question,

"Isn't it the federal president?"

"The President is just one possibility, but the chances are not high."

Luo An shook his head, indicating that bombing wasn't a good method for an assassination attempt on the President. The Special Service Bureau agents weren't slacking off; they always carefully inspected any venue the President was about to visit in advance.

The best method for an assassination was actually to use a firearm for an unexpected shooting.

On this point, the always cheerful President had the most say.

Kaden Smith was indeed insane, but judging by the way he killed Thomas and his behavior, he was no fool and could not have overlooked this point.

After hearing Luo An's analysis, Mona and Reesi were just about to ask more questions, but the SUV had already arrived at the destination. Thus, the two swallowed their queries, quickly checked their equipment, and in two pairs, swiftly approached the spacious bungalow where Kaden Smith's sister resided.

Reesi and Reid surveyed the back of the bungalow and found that several rooms were eerily quiet.

Meanwhile, at the front of the bungalow, Mona and Luo An discovered that the window of the kitchen was not closed.

At the same time, Luo An also smelled a strong scent of blood emanating from the kitchen.

"Damn it!"

Luo An's expression changed, and he immediately pressed the intercom:

"Breach now! Check every room quickly!"

"OK!"

Bang—

As soon as he finished speaking, Reid kicked open the rear door of the bungalow, and Luo An kicked the front door to pieces.

Mona, following behind Luo An, twitched at the sight, but still rapidly checked each room with her pistol in hand.

Luo An, with a Glock 18 in his grasp, headed straight for the kitchen and soon discovered two bodies, one large one small, a male and a female, both shot several times in the chest and head, lying in a pool of blood that had already started to congeal.

The male victim had long hair and looked Hispanic; Luo An recognized him at once as Kaden Smith's brother-in-law, Reginald Ruben.

The female was a little girl who appeared to be under ten years old and had some resemblance to Reginald Ruben; she was likely Ruben's daughter.

Soon, Reid and Mona, having checked each room, came over and upon seeing the two bodies on the ground, their faces turned sour as they cursed loudly.

"Fu-k!"

"Son of a bitch!"

"Reid, hurry up and contact Group Leader Owen, have him send Los Angeles's forensics to examine the bullets in these two bodies, and check if they came from the same handgun that killed Thomas."

Reid nodded and turned to make the call, while Luo An turned to Mona and continued:

"Also, what about Kaden Smith's sister? Can we get in touch with her?"

Taking a deep breath, Mona stepped briskly out of the kitchen towards the SUV outside; her computer was on the passenger side:

"I'll try."

As Mona stepped out of the bungalow, a shout suddenly came from the basement: Reesi's voice echoed,

"Luo An! I've found something!"

"OK."

Descending the wooden stairs into the dim basement, Luo An casually picked up a butler's uniform that was tossed on the banister. Not far from him, Reesi was shining a flashlight and pointing at the wall in front of her with a somewhat stiff tone:

"Luo An, you guessed it right, Kaden Smith's target isn't the federal President."
