Legendary FBI Detective-Chapter 92: Good News and Bad News
Luo An originally planned to chase by car, as no one can outrun a vehicle.
But seeing the long queue of cars blocked by a red light on the road, Luo An gave up that idea.
"FBI!"
While swiftly running, Luo An loudly shouted for pedestrians on the road to quickly get out of the way.
Hearing the word "FBI", the pedestrians subconsciously moved to the side and then turned their heads toward the direction of the voice, showing surprised expressions.
Because it was their first time seeing an FBI agent fully armed and still able to run so fast!
Many pedestrians hadn't reacted yet, and Luo An passed by them like a gust of wind, leaving only a dark silhouette.
Many people didn't even get a clear look at Luo An's face.
Ignoring the ongoing shouts of "Hot legs crabs" and "Jesus" near his ears, Luo An kept sprinting forward while guessing Freddie's running speed from the glimpse of his silhouette he had seen earlier.
The next second, Luo An decisively turned and dashed into a small alley, startling a thrill-seeking couple, then in the midst of Freddie's shocked gaze, Luo An suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Shit!"
Startled by Luo An suddenly appearing in front of him, Freddie cursed loudly before quickly turning to run across the street.
At that moment, there were a few kids skateboarding on the road, seeing this, Luo An chose not to draw his gun but instead casually borrowed one of the kids' skateboards and threw it forcefully at Freddie.
The skateboard traced a beautiful parabola in the air and struck Freddie squarely on the back of his head.
Bang!
"Ah—"
Hit by the heavy skateboard, Freddie yelped loudly, stumbled, and then harshly fell onto the ground.
"Nicely done, Luo An!"
At this point, Reesi also quickly ran over, loudly praising Luo An while grabbing Freddie's hands, pinning his back with her knee, and handcuffing him.
"You..."
Seeing his skateboard hitting Freddie so accurately and knocking him to the ground, the boy looked at Luo An in shock.
Seeing this, Luo An reached out, ruffled the boy's hair, and grinned:
"Thanks for your skateboard."
"No, I should be thanking you, Agent Sir!"
The boy's face showed a very joyful smile. He vigorously patted Luo An's arm and happily said:
"I finally have a reason to ask my dad to buy me a new skateboard!"
Luo An: "..."

Unit 5 Investigation Office.
Walking into the interrogation room with Reesi, observing Freddie handcuffed to the chair and silent since entering, Luo An offered him a cup of coffee, smiling and asking:
"How is it, Mr. Freddie, does your head still hurt?"
Glaring fiercely at Luo An, Freddie, in unbearable pain from the back of his head, didn't respond but took a sip of the coffee.
Then, an indescribable bitterness instantly bloomed in his mouth.
"It's bitter, isn't it."
Seeing Freddie's contorted face, Luo An opened the folder in his hand and smilingly said:
"Let me tell you even more bitter news, that skateboard that knocked you down earlier is broken, so you need to compensate the kid with a new skateboard."
Hearing this, Freddie's face twitched, nearly unable to hold back, he took a deep breath to suppress his agitation.
Luo An guessed the other party's thoughts, spread his hands, and continued smilingly:
"The boy was very sensible. He didn't pick those specially expensive skateboards, just chose one that costs twenty thousand dollars, and this amount will later be deducted from you."
"Fu-k You!"
Hearing this, Freddie's lips trembled, and he couldn't hold back anymore, cursing loudly:
"What skateboard costs twenty thousand dollars? Besides, it was you who broke that skateboard! I am the victim!"
"Only twenty thousand dollars, you can afford it anyway."
Luo An smiled and shook his head, while Reesi promptly pulled out several photos from the folder and threw them in front of Freddie, asking sternly:
"What's the deal with this money?"
The photos showed the one hundred thousand dollars that Reesi found in Freddie's living room, hidden under the floor, during a search at his house after capturing him.
This money wasn't recorded in any of Freddie's bank accounts, and given its hidden nature, it was clearly of dubious origin.
Seeing the photo on the table, Freddie's face changed. He leaned back into his chair, his expression dark and silent.
"Not speaking?"
Seeing Freddie's expression, Reesi's face turned serious. Luo An quickly waved his hand to interrupt his partner's buildup, as the situation wasn't that serious yet.
Reesi tilted her head towards Luo An, her eyes showing her own question:
What are you going to do?
Luo An slightly curved his lips, took away the photo in front of Freddie, and after a light cough, his eyes fixed on Freddie's face, but he spoke to Reesi:
"These money certainly didn't come from a legitimate source. So Mr. Freddie, through what illegitimate ways could one obtain one hundred thousand dollars?"
Reesi tilted her head, puzzled, and did not answer. Freddie showed disdain, while Luo An chuckled and continued:
"It's either selling flour, kidnapping, assassinations, robbing banks, trafficking information..."
The previous terms did not cause any change in Freddie's face, especially not at the mention of robbing banks, causing Luo An to frown.
But his gaze remained firmly on Freddie's face, calmly stating:
"...gangs, scams, casinos, human trafficking, bombs, murder..."
Freddie still had no reaction to the previous terms, until Luo An mentioned bombs, and then Freddie's eyes suddenly twitched unnaturally to the right, making Luo An's smile emerge:
"So, it's related to bombs!"
Upon hearing this, Freddie remained expressionless, but his suddenly irregular breathing and his hesitancy to change posture intensified the smile on Luo An's face.
The money in the photo was found by Reesi, and the forensic division had not searched Freddie's house.
Thus, Luo An put away the files, stood up looking at Freddie, and calmly stated:
"OK, interrogation over. Contact the forensics division, tell them to immediately search Freddie's house.
If they find bombs, or traces of bomb-making materials..."
Here, Luo An suddenly slammed his hand on the table.
Bang!
The loud noise startled Reesi and made the head-lowered, hesitant Freddie jerk, subconsciously looking up at Luo An.
At this moment, Luo An's face no longer held a smile, his eyes showing clear coldness, his voice exceptionally chilling:
"During the law enforcement process, Mr. Freddie has been highly resistant to the FBI, refusing to answer the FBI's questions during interrogation, and showing an extremely defiant attitude.
I will report all of these to the judge. Unless unexpected, you'll spend the latter half of your life in the most 'secure' federal prison…"
Hearing this, Freddie's expression changed instantly.
As Luo An and Reesi walked out of the interrogation room and were about to shut the door abruptly, Freddie finally could not hold back anymore, and hurriedly shouted out:
"I can answer your questions!"
Reesi's lips curled upwards, just as she was about to turn back into the interrogation room, Luo An grabbed the door, ignored Freddie, and slammed the door shut.
Bang!
Hearing the faint shouting from inside the interrogation room, Reesi, who had already made up her mind, patted Luo An's arm with a laugh:
"Luo An, that trick of yours is really old!"
"It doesn't matter if it's old, as long as it works!"
Luo An shrugged his shoulders. Unless Freddie had already prepared to spend his life in prison before getting caught, he wouldn't dare gamble his fate on the truth of Luo An's words.
Clearly, one hundred thousand dollars was not enough for Freddie to bet his latter life against Luo An.
More than an hour later, Reesi and Mona came out of the interrogation room.
Reesi tossed a folder to Luo An, stretched lazily, and said calmly:
"Freddie is not the robber of the fifth and sixth bank robberies.
Foll𝑜w current novℯls on ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm.
During those incidents, he was discussing bomb-making with a group and didn't have time for the crimes.
Of course, to prove his innocence, Freddie is willing to help us catch those who wanted to make bombs."
"OK."
Luo An nodded, typed the information about the bomb-makers mentioned by Freddie into the computer, and suddenly a wanted person's image appeared on the screen.
Seeing the string of numbers under the fugitive's photo, Luo An's face broke into a smile, and he shouted to the agents around him:
"Guys! The bad news is, Freddie isn't a bank robber!
The good news is, this week we're getting another big bonus!"
Hearing Luo An's words, all the agents in Unit Five grinned widely.
Just as Luo An was about to say something more, Mona suddenly tugged on Luo An's arm and whispered in his ear:
"Luo An, there's new information."
