Just like that, Lucas went toward the grazing area only this time, he was not alone. He looked to his right and saw the basilon kid just moving around with curiosity.

It was not allowed to leave the shelter’s territory before and all it could do was look outside the territory in hopes of going outside.

Lucas liked that part of the basilon, the obedience.

But the obedience only extended to Ella, not everyone. Lucas knew the guy was gonna behave as Ella had told him to.

The basilon could not understand Lucas fully but because of the beast and beast master bond between Ella and the Basilon.

It was easy for Ella to order and make the Basilon understand what they wanted it to do.

Lucas made his way to the grazing area and started to cut the grass again. He did not know why but he wanted the area to be clean as soon as possible.

There was an idea in his mind. He knew that one day or another, someone would come to the shelter and at that time, he would not know how to handle it.

Lucas was inexperienced when it came to a prior time, he brought in John’s family just because of Sarah’s influence and not on his own.

He brought in Jimmy’s group just because John said it. This whole time, it was not him who made the decision but the others, and now that he was the real leader of the Survivor’s Haven territory.

He needed to make decisions like these properly on his own and he had realized that.

’Those who come… will live here and not in the shelter…’ Lucas made the decision.

It was feasible and he wasn’t going to discuss it with John this time thinking that he had already made himself dependant a lot and more than this would just make it very burdenful for John even when he was not the leader.

Lucas liked taking advice and help from John but there was a limit. If he were to ask everything from him even when he doesn’t even think about it clearly, then his growth as a leader would only get stagnant.

Lucas readied the land while sometimes looking at the basilon as to what it was doing.

The Basilon was roaming all around the tall grass on its own and finding and killing the small creatures that were roaming around.

If Ella had been here, she would have smacked Lucas’s head for the first time with anger, the basilon was going very far from Lucas yet there was no problem with it.

Lucas had his perceptive eyes activated all the time which was an easy task for him if he were to not focus much on singular things.

The Basilon’s brownish-dense aura could be seen from kilometers by him.

[Intruder detected. Look at it. -YES? -NO?]

It was the 10th message that he saw during his time in the grazing area.

Lucas had enabled the notifications for the creatures so that he get to know what was coming inside his territory.

To this time, it had become very annoying as the notifications came very spontaneously.

Lucas looked at the list and frowned. It was the first time in the day that he had such a reaction as it was always some small creature or a monster of low quality that he saw entering the list.

"Kobold?" His eyes darkened after reading that name, the basilon stood on his hind legs and looked above the tall grass toward Lucas who was emitting bloodlust usually not normal to him.

The Basilon decided to make some more distance between him and Lucas intinctually and it hunted more of the creatures and ate them like usual.

Lucas spat as he felt like the taste of his mouth was getting bad. It was a touching topic for him, his interactions with the kobolds were always very death-touching.

They came to his territory when he was nothing but now things were different.

Lucas did not know where the creature had come from but he wanted to go and fight it to death at once.

He had been very normal this whole month without touching the darkness that kept growing in his heart.

He dug his fingers inside his chest as he felt a prickling sensation in it, the sensation was telling him only one thing, that it had always told him, to rip what he wanted to rip in the most gruesome way possible.

Lucas knew that suppressing his sensation all this while was a bad idea but what could he have done? Take it out on his group? Or on creatures that were literally non existent at the time of the 2nd phase.

He closed his eyes trying to suppress it as usual yet it was difficult. Lucas sat on the spot to meditate, the only thing that made his mind have peace in times like this where even his heart was also not on his side.

A few minutes later, Lucas was calm again. He suppressed the darkness yet again and got up. The bloodlust was there but not in much quantity this time.

"We need a plan to find them peacefully… and when I do, maybe I could blow some steam off…" Lucas said aloud as his eyes widened in realization. A small smile bloomed on his face.

He had found a way to mess with the kobold again, a topic that was unfinished this whole time.

The day he had gone to the grazing area and found the Basilon’s fight with the kobolds was the day he regretted the most, yet the time had come for retribution.

The time had come for the sweet revenge.

"We are going back!" Lucas shouted without holding back his voice, whatever wanted to come was welcome to fight Lucas.

He even wanted to test the Basilon’s strength now that it was somewhat bigger.

ROOOARRRRR!!! *COMINGG!!!*

Lucas winced at the voice, it was just too weird, On one hand, he heard a deafening roar, and on the other, he knew what the roar meant.

’Times have truly changed.’
