Legendary Shelter Survival Guide-Chapter 214: Frustration coming out
Everyone looked at the slab of concrete kept in the middle while marveling over the fact that Lucas made it when there was nothing from the start.
"You really are something Lucas… making concrete slabs? This… too good to be true." Mike said, his eyebrows up as if he was surprised out of his wits. Even what he said came out as if he was at a loss of words.
"I had a blueprint and I didn’t make it alone," Lucas said with a smile yet his eyes told everyone that he was very proud.
"Hahahahaa! Yeah, I helped with crushing the bones." Jerry smacked his arm around Lucas’s shoulders making him stumble with his weight a little.
Everyone started smiling while looking at the duo.
Lucas after looking at everyone felt elated, he wanted this happiness to be eternal. No misery to come yet that was not possible, he knew that.
Suddenly, Lucas’s eye moved sharply to the back, he unintentionally smacked Jerry’s hand with force making him stumble a little.
Yet Lucas’s eyes were wide while he readied himself.
Suddenly, a silhouette came out of Jerry’s big shadow. He looked surprised while staring at Lucas.
"… Sigh, you stare a lot," Lucas said while sighing. His eyes were exhausted.
"Sorry" Bill said without realizing that he even said that, he still looked very surprised by Lucas as to how he detected his presence.
"Just curiosity, but how did you find me?" Bill asked with hesitation.
Lucas remembered a time, a long time ago when he was meek. His attitude these days had made him forget his weepy attitude from before.
"I didn’t find you, I found your gaze." Lucas said while nodding to Jerry in apology at the same time.
Bill looked enlightened when he nodded to Lucas in understanding. His eyes went to the concrete and he seemed to want to say something until his face became serious. Too serious for the mood of the group. Explore stories on novelbuddy
"I found the Kobolds."
DOOM
Bill felt uncomfortable with Lucas’s sharp gaze. He instinctively went inside his shadows again only to come out behind Haley’s shoulder.
Haley who was aloof and could not feel Lucas’s sharp gaze only laughed at Bill’s antics.
"Ah, sorry about that. Where are the kobolds?" Lucas said apologetically yet his eyes were still very sharp when he asked that.
Jerry noticed when he looked at Lucas and didn’t dare say anything, he knew what Lucas wanted the most as he was like him. Only, he was way more sane than Lucas.
Bill seemed to be hesitant yet he finally opened his mouth, "They are not close… very far. But they are 10 in total… all very big."
"Can you take me to them?" Lucas came close to Bill, only this time he realized that he had to control himself. There was a welcoming smile on him that seemed fake yet it did right by Bill.
"I travel in my shadows and it takes me only minutes to cover many kilometers. With you, I think it will take 5 hours to reach them." Bill stated with his expression the same as it had been for all these days, sick-looking as he was ill.
But it had already been established that he was not sick, it was just something to do with his knives, they were playing with him but according to him, it was all taken care of.
Lucas moved his face up and looked at the sky while thinking, five hours was a lot.
"You go rest for now, Bill. We will talk about this later after one more question, what are they trying to do?"
Bill seemed to think for a few until he looked at Lucas again, for some reason, Lucas didn’t like that expression.
"They are most probably trying to settle and know that you are here."
Lucas frowned at the remark, he did not expect that he would say that.
"We will talk in detail after you get some rest. Thanks for everything."
Bill nodded in response and bid farewell with Haley and Sandra beside him. They went and sat in the corner while Lucas showed others the slab of concrete with the same excitement as before.
"I will be back in a few."
While everyone looked at the slab and interacted with it, Lucas went out of the shelter. Suddenly, his expression changed completely.
It was an understatement to say that he was frustrated. His hands gripped tightly as he gnashed his teeth in irritation.
’What is happening?’ he asked himself as he felt the darkness trying to take over again.

Lucas felt like it was all going to burst after holding on for so long, all his hard work on controlling the darkness had gone with a single puff.
He went near the canal which was only some minutes away from the canal but he ran, he ran so fast that there were marks of his feet imprinted properly with every dash he made.
Lucas heard the serene sound of the canal water and the fish, the scenery that looked peaceful yet it did not help him control things this time.
The darkness was leaking very fast now and it was his mistake to remove the control and embrace the darkness for only a few seconds.
"HAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!"
BANG!!!
Lucas punched the tree in front of him with all his strength, something he had not done for a long time.
The tree literally split in half as the upper half traveled ahead for a few inches until it fell on the ground.
Lucas huffed in craziness while baring his teeth at the tree. His animal instincts had taken over and suddenly, his facial muscles relaxed.
Lucas took a good breather and smiled while looking at the canal ignoring the existence of a big broken tree right at his side.
His hand was bleeding while he sat down and breathed fresh air, but to the naked eye, it could be seen that his hand was healing very fast.
Not something a human should possess.
While he was sitting, a fish at the bottom of the canal was looking at him with those golden eyes again only this time, it showed a response and swam opposite to Lucas toward the river.
