Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 229: Not Your Average Monster Tide (5)
**Sorry Guys, Another Solo Chapter Day, but hey, technically a chapter and a half, right???**
The Host got lucky; that's what happened. The attack they conjured caught several high-level monsters off guard and wreaked havoc beyond their Territory, silently eliminating several unsuspecting beings
"Who'da whatty huhhhh?"
The pressure behind the Host's attack was more than enough to propel the projectile approximately 75 miles at speeds greater than sound. Due to the construction and size of the bullet, it reached supersonic speeds and continued through any object in its path
Pairing that with the downward angle, it was able to traverse the mountain range some distance, taking out several monsters along the way
Triple-checking the messages he'd received from the Attribute Notice, Aoni blinked several times, then stared off into the distance in a weak attempt at figuring out if he was actually asleep this whole time.
"But…all I did was charge up my attack like normal and shoot it…sure, I used my internal Energia…but the difference shouldn't be this big." Looking down at his left hand while opening and closing it, Aoni slumped back against the tree trunk in a daze.
Internalized Energia is significantly filtered and purified when compared to Ambient Energia. In the case of the Host, they are drawing from an already pure source; thus, they are able to achieve higher quality
GROAHHH
GRAOOOOOHHH
Krawk KREEE!
WABU!
Unfortunately, moral dilemma or not, there was a bunch of intruders in his Territory, and the longer he sat here deliberating on the normalcy of his achievement, the higher the likelihood of them attacking the Fort.
Thankfully, the annoyingly loud noises emitted by the Ice Trolls were enough to snap Aoni out of his stupor.
{'Nyria.'} Without needing to say more, the Lad was suddenly inundated with information about the Goblin pack and Trolls.
With their leader eliminated, the entire chain of command collapsed; even with there being a single Hobby remaining, it didn't matter.
Either because it was too weak to control the minions or too dumb to know how.
"Gaooooo," staying low and giving a low gao, Glacia's fur stood on end, meaning she was in full protective mode. If Aoni had to guess, the Goblins were probably saying some foul shit that only she and Nyria would understand, and it was pissing the floof off.
{'Whyy I owtta, how dware dey,'}
'Aw… she's so cute when she's angy.' Seeing as it was something he didn't get to witness often, the Lad took in the floof's "Fierce-Mode" and smiled before scooting forward enough to give her some pets.
Like lightning, Glacia's posture and mood drastically shifted as all her anger melted away, replaced by giddy enjoyment at the sudden attention.
"Calm, we gotta be calm, Glacia; this is one of those fights we gotta think about how we move instead of rushing in. Right now, there are still eight of the Biggest baddies; once they are out of the picture, I will leave the little guys to you, got me?" He said while caressing the soft fur behind Glacia's ears.
{'Mm, kay brodder, stweddy, we gots to be stweddy wite?'} Glacia asked while nudging her head into Aoni's palm.
"Yep, always steady; that's how we win every time." Giving his floof a warm smile that made her bob up and down like a cockatoo in understanding, he swapped over to speaking through the LoS so Nyria could join the conversation.
{'Those big uggos are way stronger than they should be and have crazy ranged attacks, BUT…without someone leading them, it's back to being big ol dumb dumbs, so we can easily work with that.'}

{'Even so, in a one-on-one fair fight, none of us are strong enough to beat them; they'd simply be too overwhelming, but that's only in a "Fair" fight.'}
{'Nyria, I have a two-step plan for you. First, I want you to pick up enough speed and divebomb the group. Since it's quite dangerous, you'll need to be fast, and before you ask, no, this isn't an attack; instead, it's a delivery.'}
{'Head over here first to pick up a bunch of meat and drop it in the center of the group. Like this, we can herd them all together. But that is only step one.'} As he spoke, Nyria flashed down beside him and landed with practiced ease before settling in as if she'd been there the entire time and listening intently.
Expecting such a thing, Aoni didn't skip a beat and instead turned to look at her while explaining the next part of his plan.
{'For step two, your goal is to lure single targets to a designated trap point, drop something on the head of one, draw its attention, and make it follow the standard Kiting we always use, except these dummies won't bother following their comrade. Instead, they will be more concerned with the food you dropped off in step one, as their idiot friend decides to go explore alone.'}
---
The plan worked like a charm; not even 30 minutes later, Aoni stood atop a tree on the far western side of the mountain and watched the Ice Troll bumble its way around like a drunkard, crashing into trees and swatting the air in confusion.
It had zero clue what was happening; all it knew was that every time it turned to head back to the meat place, something would smack its forehead hard enough to be annoying yet not hurt.
{'Just a little further…'} Nyria stated while gliding like a silent predator above and climbing after another successful divebomb strike.
Hearing this, Aoni made his move and leaped off the branch, dropping down several tens of feet before extending his right arm and Austr out to hook another branch, flip, and shoot off in the direction of the Troll.
He'd come up with several different options, but not a single one could factor in all of the ridiculous abilities of the Troll.
He couldn't get too close because the damn thing was overpowered as hell physically.
He couldn't take pot shots cause the fucker would unleash waves of ice spears.
Hell, Aoni wasn't entirely sure his weapons could even cut the Ice Troll, given how dense its hide was, meaning there were only two viable options: large-scale magic attacks or trickery.
The answer he went with…was, of course, trickery. After all, given how taxing something like large-scale magic was for Aoni, let alone the fact that this was an ICE TROLL, meaning it had a natural resistance to the element, it created a scenario that truly left him with a singular option.
Maybe, if Aoni had, say, Fire Elementalized Energia, it would be an acceptable option; however, that wasn't the case, and as such, he needed a workaround, a means of dealing a lot of damage to the beefy monster fumbling around in his eastern forest.
And the answer he came up with was extremely simple, yet too complex for the giant dumb dumb to notice.

Fwooosh
Running at breakneck speeds that only she could achieve, Glacia glided across the snow directly in front of the Troll at the exact moment Nyria dropped a person-sized rock smack dab into its face.
In the blink of an eye, a thick rope spread out, blocking the monster's path at ankle height. With a loud THRUM sound, its feet connected, recreating a scene that had been played out time and time again throughout history, or at least in the case of the smaller fighting bigger opponents.
Racing forward, Aoni grabbed one end of the rope, while Glacia grabbed the other, and then…they ran in opposite directions, with the Lad getting close enough to tuck his end into the body of the rope and Glacia darting off in the opposite direction of the Troll.
Between the impairment in movement and the shift in momentum, the wrong way, the only thing the Troll could do…was fall forward.
"Groaahh?" It muttered upon finding something wrong with its legs as its hulking body slowly headed on a collision course with the ground.
'Timber…heh, anyway, all this is cool and all, but not nearly enough, time for the icing on the cake.' With that thought, Aoni's arms and legs surged with Energia in his typical manner, only instead of forming a giant bullet, he did something that would be far more effective.
Taking two steps forward and leaping toward the Troll as it descended, his fingers curled inward as if grabbing an invisible object, and then he pulled with all his might, like he was trying to slam a huge metal door.
The reaction from the surrounding Energia was immediate.
A colossal spike the size of a minivan tore up from the ground at just the right angle with perfect timing…then…
SPLAT!
Pierced through the Troll's head with the combined force of an immovable object meeting an unstoppable force, exploding the monster's head like a baseball bat to a watermelon, and amazingly enough, killing it then and there.

THUDD
With all the Ice spike's mass being aimed upward, the monster's corpse had nothing stopping it from crashing to the ground, and with a loud thud and a gush of blood from its slowly stilling heart, the Trickery method was proven quite effective.
"Great job, guys. Now we just gotta do this seven more times, and Glacia can go have some fun with the Gobbys." Aoni said while wiping the nonexistent sweat from his forehead.
