Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 259: Breaking The Seal (1)
"Yeah…always good," clasping Aoni's arm in a display of brotherly love, Anthony allowed himself to be pulled to his feet and dusted off by Glacia.
And that was when Aoni noticed something that made his face scrunch up.
The source of this c𝐨ntent is freёnovelkiss.com.
Littered all over the nearby staircase were dozens upon dozens of potato chip bags, snack cake wrappers, and lollipop sticks.
"Oi, you little snack gremlin, how much have you devoured?" Releasing Ant's forearm, Aoni snatched Glacia off the staircase and held her up while ignoring the clear remnants of cheesy poofs all over her mouth.
"Gao?"
{'Glaci not gwemwin, Glaci is Glaci…'} She claimed, completely oblivious to the fact she had been eating non-stop for well over two hours.
"Oh really, then how do you explain this mess?" Aoni said while turning her around physically and showing her the devastation left in her gluttonous, floofy wake.
"meep…"
"Yeah, meep, get to it, you glutton, clean up your mess as you've been taught, or no free snacks for a week." He scolded while placing the floof back down and nudging her into action.
"EEP!"
{'NO SNACKS?'}
Hearing Glacia's anguished eep set off a chain reaction of laughter, which in turn broke the tense ice between the brothers and returned things to normal.
---
"So you're saying you have a special passive that allows you to absorb…"
"Siphon…" Aoni quickly corrected because, technically speaking, it wasn't solely an absorption ability.
"Right…siphon off what you call Established Energia, then turn it into a resource that you can use to strengthen your body…that's an outlandish claim if I've ever heard one." Massaging his temples and sitting on the chamber floor near the door beside his brother, Anthony couldn't help but believe the claim, no matter how insane it appeared on the surface.
After all, had he not witnessed this process twice now?
"It's complicated, but yeah, that's the gist of it, so while I know it may be visually shocking to observe, I assure you I am in no danger." Shrugging his shoulders and looking at his Traveler's Display, Aoni split his attention between conversing with Ant and plotting out his subsequent course of action.
"Okay, well, I get all that, but what exactly was that skydrop pressure that fell on you before all this started? I mean, just look at me; had it not been for Glacia's first aid and my instincts to move, I'd have been crushed to death."
"Yet you…you didn't even flinch, almost as if this is a standard thing for you to go through," Anthony asked while receiving yet another pile of wrappers meant for disposal through his fire spells.
"That…is going to be a hard question to answer because although it's fair to say I'm used to it and have experienced that pressure more times than I care to admit, I still have ZERO clue about what it is or where it comes from."
"Huh?"
"Dude, if you don't know, who the hell am I supposed to ask? Glacia?"
"Gaoo?" Hearing her name, the floof turned and looked over at the brothers expectantly as if she was going to be let off the hook early, but upon seeing the dead fish eyes gaze of her Lord, Glacia could only droop her head in shame and continue gathering wrappers before bringing them to Anthony for disposal.
"As I was saying… if you don't know, who am I supposed to ask because I'd like to know what the hell it is as much as you."
"Although it just about killed me the first five or six times I was assaulted, what I can tell you is that every time I emerge from it, I grow stronger, almost like a baptism ritual or something. Yet apart from a rough idea of how to trigger it, that's the extent of my knowledge."
"Aoni…"
"Hm?"
"Why the hell can't you be normal just one time in your life? Let alone the fact that you have a crazy adaptive formation hanging in the sky over your territory, which replaced your Newbie Barrier, and an insane relic of an ancient ruin some 60 miles away from your base, now you showcase something impossible AND have an invisible force that makes you stronger."
While he spoke, Anthony slumped over and acted dramatically, but that broken state quickly shifted into one of remembrance as he looked toward the ceiling, daydreaming of better times.
"I miss my adorable baby brother, who was all mopey and never caused problems. Just sat in his room building toy robots all day long…"
"HEY! DON'T YOU DISRESPECT THE MASTERPIECE THAT IS GARNDARM BY CALLING THEM TOY ROBOTS; THOSE SOPHISTICATED WORKS OF ART ARE MY BABIES!!!" Lunching forward and shaking Ant, Aoni screamed, causing a loud fit of laughter to burst from his brother's mouth.
"oooo…gaoo…"
{'Brodder, I fought I was da baby…'} Showing up with yet another pile of trash for burning, Glacia looked up at Aoni with big, watery eyes and looked about ready to cry.
"Sigh…you are Glacia, my sweet little floof; however, you and they are two different things. First of all, my Garndarms aren't nearly as adorable as you, nor can they fight or move around, hm, but they can strike awesome action poses…"
"GaooO!"
{'Like dis?'} Hearing the phrase Action pose, Glacia rolled forward and stood on her front paws while kicking the air and holding for applause.
"Ppfft, yeah, just like that, you're clearly far superior to my Garndarms."
"Do I even wanna know what is going on?" Ant asked while looking between the two, completely lost.
"Nope, anyway, you're almost done cleaning chop-chop; get to it, Glacia."
Releasing a groan of agony, then falling onto her butt, Glacia slinked off miserably to finish cleaning, leaving the brothers to their conversation again.
"Look, Ant, I can't explain the weird shit that happens to me, especially since from the moment I landed here on Genovia: it's been one weird situation after another, but what I can say is I've got it covered."
"Either way, none of that really matters right now because we have a bigger issue on hand we need to deal with, and that's how long it will take me to break the Seal over here." Pointing a thumb at the door, Aoni elaborated further upon seeing the dazed expression on his brother's face.
"For normal people, it's just something to be broken, but for me, it's a valuable one-time use resource, so I need to take advantage of it while I can, and for that, it will take some time to do."
"How long are we talking, a few days or…"
"No idea, judging by how many runes have darkened…"
"Darkened?"
"Ugh…ignore that for now; based on the rate I am going, I should be able to break down the Grade-6 Energia within a day or two, but if that doesn't work to open the door, I will need to persist without stopping. So we are talking about a time frame of weeks or months, or at least that's my estimate; I won't know till I continue further."
