Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 73: It Still Worked Doe!
’INCREASE MY MOTHER FUCKING RANK POTENTIAL!’ With his internal monologue echoing like thunder, Aoni, who was struggling to stay upright as he slid down the mountain further and further away from his cave, was suddenly frozen in place, as if time had stopped thanks to the descent of a now familiar pressure bearing down on not only him but the surrounding terrain.

Gritting his teeth and inherently fighting against the force pressing on his entire body, Aoni’s eyes flickered all around his surroundings as he noticed the exact phenomena he had been hoping would happen, happen.
As the metaphorical Solar beam crashed into the side of the mountain from above, thick, white steam rose in an opposing manner as the snow nearby melted at an extremely fast and visible rate.

Between the hazy heat, steam, and melting snow, the effect of the Ascending Pressure seemed to not only affect Aoni’s body but also confirm his theory that it was the cause of the snow on his platform disappearing.
Clenching his fist and teeth as he sat up, Aoni continued his experimenting and closed his eyes to see if he could sense any changes within his body.
Unfortunately, either due to the pressure being too high of a level for him to understand or his stats being too low to notice anything, the lad was left stumped.
So, by the time the intense pressure from above disappeared, he had only been able to gather minor, inconsequential information from the phenomenon.
Heaving a sigh and slowly opening his eyes, the first thing Aoni noticed was that he no longer felt the chill caused by his increase in Elementalized Energia, and the second…was that a massive, perfect circle, roughly the size of his mountaintop platform (50-yard circle) was now completely free of snow.
"With this…couldn’t I start working on the clearing of a decent-sized path…, eh? That’s crazy; the cavern is almost a mile away; still, I can chip out a decent-sized portion by repeating this process a few times." Standing up and shaking the warm water off his body like a dog, Aoni looked up and saw the path up the mountain, which was, for the most part, unobstructed.
"That has to be the most insane thing I’ve ever attempted, hehe, but it worked, doe." Snickering to himself like a loonie-toon, Aoni, who was now free of all stiffness and feeling better than ever, checked his TD, saw the 236.5 points and that his Rank Potential was now set to F+, smiled, and ran up the mountain until he reached the only barrier separating him and an easy walk to his cave.
Unfortunately, because he hadn’t been able to slow his slide down the mountain quickly enough, there was still a small wall of snow, roughly 10 feet in diameter and nearly five feet deep, between himself and the platform.
However, after making light work of it with a few punches and kicks, he now had the concept of a decent path.
Hopping up onto the stone platform and blowing warm air on his hands, which were a little stiff from hitting the snow, the lad walked over to the stone where he’d left the remaining slab of meat and thought long and hard about if he wanted to try that again.
’I don’t feel full, which is weird considering I ate something like 5 or 6 pounds of meat earlier, but do I really wanna try a second time, or should I just wait till later.’ Holding the thawed tenderloin, he checked it from top to bottom, inspecting for any signs that the temperature increase had been hot enough to cook it, and what he found was quite strange.
Apart from being thawed, it was still as fresh as if he had cut it off a living creature, with zero signs of ever being frozen.
Keeping that in mind and carefully putting it back down on the stone, the lad dashed across the platform to the other corpses and could feel a faint warmth from the bodies, as if they had only just died, confusing him further.
’Just what in the hell is that force? It’s hot enough to melt snow nearly instantly, but it didn’t do anything to the meat that had been carved while practically reviving a dead animal.’ Running his fingers through the soft snow-white fur, Aoni frowned because apart from indications the corpse wasn’t breathing and the fact it was perfectly still and well…that he had drained all its blood already, the lad could have sworn it was only sleeping.
"Well, at least I don’t have to worry about the brains rotting away like originally; then again, they probably wouldn’t have due to the high Energia density in the meat." Shrugging his shoulders, the lad turned his line of sight to the folded-up pelt.
"Instead of worrying about eating, I really should get back on task. The meat won’t spoil anytime soon; it’s better to get myself a decent fur coat before the temperature up here drops again." Tilting his neck to the side and releasing a loud pop, Aoni rolled out his shoulder, crouched in front of the hanging corpse, and, using his fingers to trace along the jawline, found the point of contact between the jaw and skull.
His next action isn’t for the faint of heart because, with a loud CRACK, Aoni’s fingers dug into the head’s temples as if breaking through an eggshell.
After creating a starting point, the lad collected his knife and, using the temple holes as a guide, carefully carved in a counterclockwise motion, sheering through bone yet avoiding the valuable organ within.
With agile movements, it took no time at all before the knife reached the second temple hole, so upon placing the knife down on the ground, and with a gross…
POP-CRACK
Sound, Aoni lifted the skull from the back and used the front like a hinge, exposing the corpse’s brain to the open air. Next, his fingers slithered into the open skull and, with a suction noise, removed the intact organ with ease.
