Chapter 106: Life In Geldhan

Dr. Shard chuckled when thinking of his current situation.

His wife, who was a Senior nurse, now worked with him in Geldhan village on a higher salary. Their children went to school in Geldhan village. But since the school was still under construction, they attended Lectures in an outdoor space, in a circular region secluded in the mountain area.

It was strange and exciting to have people attend classes in the great outdoors. They had to bring their own cushions, and place them on logs.

You would think teaching outdoors was lousy and boring, but his children came black overly excited everyday. It seems that the school not only taught normal classes, but basic martial arts and defense too.

Sometimes, they had classes outdoors, and other times, they had classes in a hall.

Dr. Shard shook his head wryly.

As for his parents and his mother-in-law, he allowed them to rest at home, taking care of the home, while also getting familiar with the neighbors around their homes.

Because Dr. Shard was accepted as one of Geldhan village’s Primary Doctors and heart surgeon, he was granted 2 homes as he requested. One for himself and one for his in-laws. Both homes were grand in their own right.

Dr. Shard was amazed by how jovial his parents became. They already made friends, and even had company in the house these days when he returned from work.

As a renowned Doctor, his parents often had people coming over because they wished to take advantage of Dr. Shard’s identity.

It’s rare to find true friends in the city. Don’t get them wrong, they have friends in the city, but not a lot.

They initially felt they had to keep their guard here, in this poor village. Maybe they haven’t been listening to the news recently, but only after coming, did they know that everyone here was wealthy.

In the face of Gort’s, they found that their son’s identity paled in comparison, making people hardly care. They found that no one cared about their wealth, and some of these villagers were even far richer than they.

Oops, they found they could truly be themselves here. Not to mention that they could gather with these new friends and venture into the VR world for some action from time to time.

"Mom, I’m going to work."

"Yes, yes, yes... Go already. Don’t disturb me from slaying this dragon."

Dr. Shard had nothing to say when it came to his parents.

What happened to the sweet and overly caring parents he had who would worry about him at every given turn?... It seems they now had a life?

Yesterday, his parents even said they wished to apply for jobs, the jobs their new friends had. This thought shocked Dr. Shard out of his boots. When was the last time his parents worked? It’s only been 5 days since he permanently moved, and they already want to come out of retirement?

Ever since moving here, everyone, including his in-laws, have changed. For Shard, and his immediate family, they were accepted on the spot as people of Geldhan village. But for his in-laws, they would have to pass the probationary period before they fuller become people of Geldhan village.

The rules, although looking complex, were quite easy and simple to follow. If one is truly good at heart, they won’t have issues with the rules set in Geldhan village. It’s as simple as that.

Alas... life here was too good.

There were perks and there were rules that came along with those perks. Dr. Shard shook his head, focusing on the medical Research matter Gort discussed.

"Already, Geldhan village has 4 Agricultural Branches. With the way things are going, I am in the opinion that one should be turned into a Medical research facility," Gort proposed.

"By now, everyone is familiar with the general benefits of the foods Artificially grown."

"Yes, we do, Boss Gort." Several people added, having long sensed the changes in their bodies.

To say they were as strong as an ox wasn’t an understatement.

Just look at their complexions? Do you think any surgery or pills can do what these foods have done for them in just 2 months? 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"Boss Gort, everyone knows that my coughing ailment has long vanished since I began eating these foods."

"That’s right. If it weren’t for these foods, how could my hand injury that has been plaguing me for years, get cured just like that? It’s amazing that I can now sing it left and right without so much pain."

"Hey, my cataract cleared out of the blue, and my vision is now restored. It’s been a long time since I saw the world so clearly."

Gort nodded, listening to their heartfelt results after long-time use of these foods.

In the outside world, although the advantages of eating these foods were obvious, people won’t gain as many benefits compared to the people of Geldhan village.

Why? Because people here ate these foods EVERY SINGLE DAY, 3 times a day.

The rapid changes in their bodies might only be truly seen in the outside world, several months later.

They in Geldhan village, had the advantage of eating large quantities daily. What’s more, all goods sold in Geldhan village are 30% off to villagers.

Villagers had their own discount cards. Each day, outsiders venture into the village to buy items for this reason or that reason. To give villagers a sense of pride as farmers and people from Geldhan, they had given them discounted prices on all goods sold.

The only day when the discount doesn’t apply, is on Saturdays. Should you go shopping on Saturday, you only have yourself to blame for not seeing any discounts. Your final checkout price will be the same as the construction worker who is lining up behind you.

Villagers now dreaded grocery shopping on Saturdays, clearing the way for outsiders who flocked in the most, during the weekends.

In the end, Saturday is now observed as the Day for the Outsider!
