Chapter 105: 105. Negotiating with Demon General

The first time Rick looks at Zara...

His eyes were wide open... and it’s not some kind of excessive way.

It felt like his eyes left his own eye socket.

"Oh... my... milfs..." Rick was in awe just by looking at Zara.

He didn’t realize his mouth was watering, making a goddamn saliva waterfall.

Zara was enormous and tall. She was six feet four inches tall and had a body that was all muscle.

She was much taller than most demons Rick had seen. She also has two big black horns curved up from her head, and her eyes glowed with amber fire as she looked at the newcomers.

She wore very little armor, just enough to protect her most important parts while still letting her move around freely. A greatsword that was almost as tall as Rick leaned against her throne, making it easy to get to.

But what really got to Rick was how old she looked. There was no doubt that Zara Bloodthorn was an adult at the age of 42.

Her face resembles that of a typical dominant milf, prompting Rick to imagine various scenarios with her, and although her body is very strong, it also shows signs of years of battle.

This wasn’t a young warrior trying to show off. This was a veteran who didn’t have to prove anything to anyone.

"She’s looking more like an angel than a demon..." Rick keeps talking inside his mind.

"God fucking damn...! She’s my fucking dominant milf type!"

"I WANT TO GET SQUASHED BY THOSE THIGHS AND TITS!"

"I WANT HER TO CARRY ME AND PAMPER ME LIKE A BABY!"

"I WANT HER TO CALL ME A GOOD BOY WHILE SWEET TALKING ME!"

"I WANT TO LAY MY HEAD BETWEEN THOSE TITS!"

"I WANT TO LET HEAD LEAD OUR SEX!"

"I WANT EVERYTHING!"

"I WANNA! I WANNA! I WANNA! I WANNA! I WANNA!"

Zara didn’t stand up right away. She just looked at them with a predatory intelligence, moving her eyes from Rick to Carmilla to Natasha and back again.

At last, she spoke. "I see now... hahahahaha~!"

Her voice sounded like a woman’s, but it had the weight of complete power. "So..."

"You are the so-called Hero of Mature Hearts."

"The man who sleeps with that slut of a Dragon Queen and brings together ancient powers in ways that I know are very diplomatic."

Rick’s face got a little hot, but he kept looking at her. "I like to think of it as making real connections with people who want the same things."

"Hahaha! Is that what you call it?" Zara stood up, and even though she was big, her movements were smooth.

She started walking slowly toward Rick, taking each step carefully and on purpose. "Tell me, little human."

"Why shouldn’t I just kill you right now?"

"One less thing to worry about in an already complicated world, isn’t that right, eh?"

Rick could still hear Sebastian’s voice in his head. "Well. This is going very well."

Rick stood his ground as the huge demon general got closer. He could feel Carmilla and Natasha getting tense on either side of him, ready to fight even though they knew they were outnumbered.

Rick said, "Killing me would be a waste," and his voice stayed steady. "And you don’t waste chances, General Zara."

"You wouldn’t have made it through forty-two years in the demon military if you were."

"You wouldn’t be responsible for reconnaissance missions to look into the same corruption that’s killing my people."

"And you wouldn’t be here talking to me instead of having your guards kill us as soon as we got to your camp."

Zara stopped about three feet away, it was close enough that Rick had to lean forward to keep looking at her. A slow smile spread across her face.

"That’s interesting," she said. "Most people would be shitting themselves right now."

"But look at you here... standing there and telling me what I should or shouldn’t do."

"You’re either very brave or very dumb."

Rick said, "Probably both, but I’m also correct."

"Every day, the corruption spreads faster. Your people are going through the same things as mine."

"The barriers aren’t working on either side of the border."

"General, we have a common enemy. And on our own, we won’t be able to stop it."

"Together, we might really have a chance."

Zara’s eyes got smaller. "You talk about demons and humans being one."

"Do you know how many wars we’ve been in?"

"How much blood has been shed on both sides?"

"The hate goes back hundreds of years."

Rick said, "I know."

"And that hatred won’t mean anything when the corruption takes over everything and everyone in this world!"

"General, dead civilizations don’t get to hold grudges. They just stay dead with their own repentance."

There was no sound at all in the tent. Carmilla and Natasha stayed coiled like springs, ready to spring into action. Zara kept looking at Rick with those fiery amber eyes.

Then, out of the blue, she laughed. It was a real sound, full of dark fun.

"Hahahahahahaha...!"

"You’ve got balls of steel, I’ll give you that."

"Coming into my camp, making demands, and lecturing me about survival." She turned around and walked back to her throne, where she sat down with ease. "I like you, Hero of Mature Hearts."

"You’re either going to save the world or kill us all. It’s probably both, isn’t it?"

Rick’s shoulders felt a little less tense. "Does that mean you’ll listen to us?"

Zara pointed to a few camp chairs that were set up in front of her throne. "Sit down."

"Tell me about this bond network of yours and how you think fucking your way through the Seven Major Powers will save the world."

"She fucking knows that...?! " Rick winced at how blunt she was, but he sat down anyway.

Carmilla and Natasha were on either side of him, and they both looked ready to fight at any moment.

Rick started, "Well, uh, it’s not about... that’s not the main way," and then he sighed.

Okay, physical intimacy is involved, but it’s not the power source."

"The real strength comes from genuine emotional bonds. Trust, respect, mutual understanding."

"The Spirit Bond system just formalizes and enhances what’s already there."

"That’s actually interesting... show me then " Zara said.

Rick thought for a moment. "Show you what?"

"Your bonds. Let me see this power you claim can save the world."

Rick looked at Carmilla and Natasha, and they both nodded. He turned on Bond Resonance, and the power could be seen flowing through all four of his active connections.

Auras that overlapped filled the tent. Carmilla’s red protective flame, Natasha’s ice blue clarity, Liora’s distant golden warmth, and Sylvia’s fierce dragon fire.

The four energies came together in complicated ways, each one unique but working together to make something bigger than the sum of its parts.

Zara leaned forward, and her face changed to show real interest. "That’s... I have never seen anything like that before."

"There are four separate bonds that are all connected and feed a central network."

"The output of power is impressive, but the stability is what really stands out."

"How do you keep four different types of power working together?"

Rick simply said, "It’s through genuine connection."

"Every bond is based on real love and trust." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"There is no trickery and no forced compliance. Everyone who was involved chose this on their own."

Zara squinted her eyes in thought. "And you believe that incorporating demon power into that network would help combat the overall corruption?

Rick said, "I think seven Major Powers coming together through bonds that can’t be broken or corrupted would make something that has never been seen before."

"The dark magic at the heart of the corruption. It grows when people are afraid, alone, and divided."

"But the bond network is the opposite of what it stands for. Light, unity, trust. It’s the perfect counter!"

Zara said, "Theoretical."

"Proven in smaller applications," Natasha said for the first time. "In places where Rick’s bond network was strongest, corruption in Valdris went down by eight percent."

"We can see the effect ourselves."

Zara had a new respect for Natasha. "A mage... you put a number on it?"

"Of course," Natasha said in a calm voice. "I don’t deal with faith and feelings."

"I deal in data, and the data supports his claims."

"That’s interesting." Zara stood up again and walked back and forth in front of her throne. "Okay, I believe you."

"Let’s say that your bond network could really help fight corruption."

"My demons still need to agree to work with humans, but there’s still the matter of my demons accepting an alliance with humans."

"The hate runs deep in their blood..."

"Then lead them," Carmilla said with authority. "You’re their General."

"They’ll follow if you think this is necessary for survival."

"That’s what soldiers do."
