Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Petty-Minded

"Selfish, cold-blooded, psychopath, trip into a pit while walking, bump into a wall when going out!" South Grant muttered under his breath full of resentment.

There was a distance between Nathan Foster and South Grant that normal people wouldn’t be able to hear.

But Nathan Foster wasn’t a normal person.

Upon hearing South Grant’s words, Nathan Foster paused his steps momentarily, then strode swiftly out of the hospital.

After exiting the hospital’s main entrance, South Grant watched as Nathan Foster’s car sped away in a cloud of dust.

Damn it!

This is a military hospital!

It’s ridiculously far from both the school and The Grant Family mansion!

The distance isn’t the issue; I can take a cab.

But, the problem is, I have no money!

She thought about going back to ask Harold Foster for cab fare, but considering the doctor said he needed rest, she decided not to trouble him with this.

South Grant glanced at her long legs and decided to walk, using what’s humorously referred to as the "number 11 bus" (her legs).

In May, Aethelgard was already quite hot.

South Grant has fair skin, with long and slender legs. Since she was fourteen, when her gender characteristics became more obvious, South Grant began to style her face sharply and heroically.

However, her legs were something she couldn’t reveal, so she always wore long pants.

Walking forward, she vaguely remembered the route. After traversing a street, South Grant felt thirsty and tired, cursing Nathan Foster eight hundred times in her heart.

At a corner, South Grant looked up and saw Nathan Foster’s military Hummer parked by the roadside.

Forget about dignity for now, free your legs first.

South Grant jogged over, preparing a basketful of sweet words.

But, before she got close, she saw Nathan Foster’s car slowly drive forward.

The speed was neither fast nor slow, just enough to stay ahead, keeping her from catching up.

South Grant: "..."

So, a person’s twisted nature doesn’t diminish with a few years’ difference! The same old twisted self!

South Grant clearly understood what Nathan Foster was thinking at the moment—it was just because their previous encounters weren’t all that pleasant, and he wanted to subtly get back at her!

When foes meet, the fierce one wins!

She remembered back in their past life, where Nathan Foster somehow got hold of a little leopard.

At that time, the leopard was full of wildness and scratched him several times.

But with Nathan Foster’s personality, not to mention a leopard, even if it were a lion, he’d still want to tame it.

But later, after he tamed the leopard, he lost interest and released it back into the wild.

In their last life, he treated her the same way. Back then, she watched Nathan Foster tame the leopard and then release it, South Grant learned to behave.

She behaved for quite a period, thinking that maybe he would release her as he did the leopard.

But not only did Nathan Foster not let her go, he took advantage of her obedience and indulged in all sorts of games.

Soon after, the two began their face-offs again.

Thinking about the blood and tears of their past life, South Grant couldn’t help but wish she could just bite him twice.

Someday, she’ll ask her grandfather which hill Nathan Foster was adopted from, his twisted genes surely aren’t of human origin!

South Grant slowed her pace, and at that moment, Nathan Foster’s car also slowed down.

South Grant didn’t bother with him anymore, walking slowly along the roadside.

South Grant had been walking for almost two hours, exhausted, she sat down by the steps of a roadside café to rest.

That’s when a shadow suddenly loomed over her.

South Grant looked up and saw Nathan Foster standing in front of her, looking down at her condescendingly.

"Selfish? Cold-blooded? Psychopath?"

South Grant: "..."

So he heard it all!

South Grant felt blisters were definitely forming on her feet, intensifying the grudge in her heart.

"Yes, and more, petty-minded!"

"Petty... minded? Well, I can’t deny that." Nathan Foster glanced down at her before turning back to his car, "Seems like you’re still not tired."

South Grant: "..."

Whoa, do you have to drive away so quickly?
