Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster-Chapter 39 - 38: Why So Dirty?
"Have you always been this adaptable?" Nathan’s eyes narrowed as he asked her.
"Adapt-a-table?" South raised an eyebrow, chuckling, "Sorry, not equipped with that feature."
Nathan’s gaze darkened as he looked at her.
South noticed Nathan’s dangerous look, aware that it was a sign of his impending anger.
She understood Nathan; when he wanted to know something, he wouldn’t hesitate to use any means necessary.
As she was now, she was no match for Nathan.
Clearly, he didn’t believe what she was saying.
Or rather, he knew some of the details from that file, and the USB drive she had made couldn’t fool him.
"You can have the USB, but I need to clarify something." Since she couldn’t hide it, South chose to take the initiative.
"Okay." Nathan agreed to South’s request without even asking what it was about.
Just as they reached an agreement, the hospital lobby became filled with a noisy commotion.
"How can you do this? My child is sick, and now you’re discharging us?" a particularly sharp female voice rang out.
Then they saw the woman holding her child being "escorted" out by the hospital’s security personnel.
"I’m telling you, my husband is Quentin Young from the military district. Be careful or you’ll regret throwing us out!"
As the woman continued to rail, a man rushed in from outside the hospital.
This man was none other than the woman’s husband, Quentin Young.
He wasn’t dressed in military attire, just ordinary clothes, and he looked somewhat disheveled.
Upon seeing his wife still arguing with the hospital security, he frowned and pulled her over with a sullen expression.
"You jinx! Haven’t you embarrassed me enough? I’ve lost my position because of you!"
After Quentin Young spoke, the woman was puzzled, bewildered as to how he’d suddenly lost his position that morning.
"What happened?"
"Damn if I know!"
South watched their argument, understanding what had transpired.
If Nathan wanted the USB back from her, he’d definitely help her deal with some troublesome matters, like this quarrelsome couple.
The couple then noticed South standing there, with hatred in the woman’s eyes.
Meanwhile, the man beside her, upon seeing Nathan standing next to South, was shocked, as if he couldn’t believe his own eyes.
Quentin Young walked over, nodding and bowing obsequiously to Nathan:
"Commander Foster, what a coincidence to see you here. Haha... Is this the Commander’s friend? We were in the same ward before, what a coincidence..."
At this point, Quentin Young couldn’t say anything other than how coincidental it was.
"No coincidence, she’s my niece."
After Nathan said this, he led South into the special elevator, heading straight to the top floor.
This left Quentin Young in distress, regret gnawing at him.
In the elevator with Nathan, South, despite her dislike for Nathan, felt extremely satisfied at the expression on Quentin Young and his wife’s faces.
"Seems like you do have your advantages." In the future, if she got into trouble, dropping Nathan’s name would make him the scapegoat, wouldn’t that be satisfying?
"Yes, I have my advantages." Nathan’s voice was somewhat hoarse, carrying a magnetically seductive quality.
South: "..."
Why did "my advantages" sound so suggestive?
