Limitless Evolution System: Reincarnation of the Strongest Slayer God-Chapter 47: True Rumors
Chapter 47: True Rumors
"Tsk." Liam clicked his tongue in annoyance and without a word, he walked through the debris-filled interior of the building, then took flight through the gaping hole his opponent’s body had carved through two structures.
System notifications also flooded into Liam’s view while he flew out of the surrounding;

The other visors of Weeping Dragons had concerned faces as they checked Clive’s body for signs of life. The moment the other combatants had witnessed Liam’s overwhelming display of strength, when he sent Clive flying through those buildings, all fighting had ceased. The abandoned their aerial battle and followed instinctively, drawn by a mixture of shock and morbid curiosity. None of them had needed the faction leader dead—not Kent, whose mission was to prevent this escalation, and certainly not the Weeping Dragons, who now faced the terrifying reality of their president’s defeat. Tim himself followed mostly out of pure amazement at the new Agent’s capabilities,
...
Nearly forty-five minutes later, several other vehicles settled over the battlefield. The first to arrive was a van bearing the distinctive insignia of the Weeping Dragons—a circular black and white yin-yang design featuring two intertwined dragons. The faction’s remaining visors carefully loaded their battered president into the vehicle’s rear compartment, where he lay writhing and groaning in pain from the brutal beatdown he’d taken at Liam’s hands.
The second vehicle belonged to USOV’s cleanup crew, with their team already working to load the massive beast carcass that had started this entire confrontation. At the edge of the cleanup operation, Kent and Tim concluded their conversation with a handshake, or rather, Tim extended his hand while Kent struggled to reciprocate with his damaged arm. "I’m sorry it escalated this way," Tim said, his voice carrying genuine regret. "But thank you for your intervention."
Kent winced as he completed the handshake. "Just doing our job." Both men walked slowly toward the SUV that had brought Liam and Kent to the scene. Liam stood with his back against the vehicle, arms crossed, waiting patiently for Kent’s return so they could depart for the USOV facility.
As Liam moved to enter the vehicle, Tim called out, "Hold on." Liam paused mid-stride and turned, his expression neutral but attentive. "Thanks for coming to our aid today," Tim said, his tone respectful.
When Liam offered only a silent nod in response, Tim continued, "You know, when people said that an Agent in USOV fought Serafina to a stalemate, I didn’t believe it was true, unless the Director himself was the one fighting. But after what I witnessed today, I’m starting to think those rumors were definitely accurate."
Liam’s response was characteristically brief. "I was only doing my job. If you’ll excuse me..." He nodded slightly and moved around to the passenger side of the vehicle. As he settled into his seat, Kent addressed Tim one final time. "If no agreement is reached within the week, we’ll proceed based on our preference and divide the creature’s parts before sending them to both factions."
Tim nodded his understanding and turned away to rejoin his team as Kent climbed into the SUV and closed the door. The driver immediately shifted into reverse and began the journey back to USOV headquarters.
...
The return trip was conducted in complete silence. Neither Kent nor Liam spoke, each lost in their own thoughts about the day’s events. When they arrived at the facility, they stepped out of the vehicle and Liam entered the building, but paused in the lobby, his eyes scanning the area for any sign of Yae or his other Team C members.
Finding none, he made his way toward the field agents’ quarters while Kent headed in the opposite direction toward the Director’s office. Kent knocked on the office door and waited for Grey’s invitation before entering.
Inside, he found Lucien seated on one section of the sofa, intently studying something on a tablet screen. "Good day, Director," Kent offered as he entered.
"Good day, Kent," Lucien replied with a brief nod, his attention still focused on the device as he resumed the video he’d been watching. Kent approached Grey’s desk, where the Director looked up with immediate concern.
"Were there casualties?" Grey was already well-informed about most of what had transpired, especially as the call to the request for USOV’s cleanup crew came in.
"President Clive will live," Kent reported. "Good thing I reached Liam in time."
Grey exhaled heavily. "Could there have been a better outcome?"
Kent considered the question carefully before responding. "Honestly? No. Clive got greedy and was out for blood. This was inevitable from the moment he decided to escalate."
"Very well then," Grey said with resignation. "We’ll wait and see if both factions can reach an agreement. But I suppose after today, with all the witnesses present, there’s no hiding Liam’s capabilities anymore." Grey sighed again. He had hoped to shield public knowledge of Liam from as many people as possible, at least until he made his stand clear, whether he’d be joining their cause or not.
"Speaking of which, Director," Kent interjected, "he’s growing uncontrollably every day his power increases."
It was then that Lucien looked up from his tablet and interjected, "Then don’t try to control him." Lucien stood and moved toward the desk, with the tablet in his hand. He settled into one of the chairs facing Grey and placed the device on the desktop before continuing. "Based on the footages I just reviewed, if he’s achieved this level of growth in only two weeks, there’s no telling what his true limits might be."
"But we still don’t know if he’ll fight the battles we need him to fight," Grey added, voicing his concern
Lucien’s response carried a certainty that brooked no argument. "Leave that part to me."
...
Liam entered the field agents’ common room to find it empty. He caught the attention of a passing agent in the hallway. "Any idea where Team C might be?" he asked.
"Yeah, I think they’re in one of the training rooms," the agent replied before continuing on his way. "Thanks," Liam called after him, already heading toward the appropriate wing.
