Seeing that Ethan was considering a blue portal dungeon, the shopkeeper quickly warned him. "Hey, take it slow. Tell your team to be patient. I can see that you are still in F rank. I suggest you guys don't attempt a blue dungeon without at least two E-ranks in the group."

"Thank you." Ethan gave the guy a polite smile before turning around and walking towards the dungeon portals once again. He knew the shopkeeper meant well in warning him but the guy did not have all the information.

They might not have any E-ranks in their group of three, but they were also not just a group of three. Besides, he did not want to keep running back and forth from the dungeon portals to the vendors, emptying out the contents every hour.

Maybe it was time to try a few blue dungeons before returning to the green ones.

Lia glanced at him as they walked. "Master, you're really going through with it?"

Ethan nodded. "We're not gonna be reckless, but we're wasting too much time running errands. If blue dungeons give better rewards, then they'll help us level faster and earn more gold. Worst case, we pull back and stick to green runs until we're stronger."

Luna grinned. "I bet the monsters in there will be way more fun!"

Ethan chuckled at the words of the little monster and headed to the group of blue portals. There was still a crowd around the portals, but it was definitely thinner than the one around the green portals.

Some people seemed to be discussing what portals led to what dungeons. There was apparently a chart with dungeon names and portal locations, probably handed by the academy.

But since there was no way for them to get hold of one before giving away the fact that they did not belong to any academy, Ethan randomly picked a blue portal and then entered it with Luna and Lia in tow.

Almost instantly, Ethan felt a chill creep up his spine. The atmosphere inside this dungeon was completely different from the ones they had faced before.

They were standing in a sort of graveyard, and all around them, there was a thick mist that clung to the air like a suffocating blanket. The graves were old, their stones cracked and crumbling, some even split open as if something had crawled out from within.

Ethan exhaled sharply, his breath coming out in a visible puff. It was cold. Too cold.

Lia shivered beside him. Luna, on the other hand, didn't seem fazed at all. She kicked a stray skull half-buried in the dirt and hummed to herself. "It's all foggy! Can we fight ghosties now?"

"Ah shit. That's right. This had to be an undead dungeon, right?" Ethan's interest was immediately piqued. Back on earth he had played some video games and obviously come across the necromancer character.

In fact, the first thing that came to his mind when he observed how his summoner class functioned was a necromancer character.

The only difference was that his minions seemed to be still alive. He had no idea how that worked but maybe capturing one or two of these undead minions would help him get a bit more understanding of his class.

Before Ethan could finish the thought, a low, guttural moan echoed from the mist. The ground trembled. The first corpse stirred.

Bony fingers clawed out of the soil as a dozen undead warriors pulled themselves from their graves, their hollow sockets glowing with eerie blue fire.

[Restless Dead – Lv. 18]

[Gravebound Knight – Lv. 22]

Ethan immediately summoned his small army. These would give actual experience points to many of his minions, and some should reach level 20 by the end of the run.

His insectoids skittered forward, their sharp mandibles clicking hungrily as they engaged the skeletal warriors. The lesser demons lunged with feral aggression, clawing at the undead with brute force. His rats swarmed, darting between bones and armor, aiming for weak points.

The undead reacted instantly as if drawn to the presence of the living. Two of his rats got cleaved which was a loss. Ethan asked the weaker ones to fall back. The insectoids and the demons had a much easier time dealing with the skeletons.

Ethan was observing the fight when suddenly a huge fire roared on his side. Luna was roasting a whole batch of undeads by herself. Turns out that her reaching level 3 made a huge difference to her combat ability.

"Slow and steady." He reminded her and focused back on his fight. It was time to experiment with some things. He used his fireball to scorch a couple of the restless dead. The skeletons crumbled and then became ash.

Fire worked exceptionally well against them. That was good to know. But what about the test result?

Ethan waited for the familiar notification to appear, but instead, something else appeared.

[Ding! Error. Summoning Failed]

Ethan's eyes widened. "Wait, the summoning actually failed." He did not expect this. If anything, he thought he would maybe be able to control them better or, on the spot, take charge of the undead. It looked like he had been too optimistic about the situation.

Controlling human beings did not work out and anything above lesser demon ranks also did not work out. Now, it turns out that the undead also fell into the same category.

Ethan did not dwell on it too much. His class obviously had some rules, and he would eventually figure out all of them.

There were restless dead, skeletal warriors, gravebound knights, wraiths, and slithering death. He tried adding a whole bunch in each category but only failed every time. Surprisingly, he did end up succeeding in capturing slithering death.

However, this worm seemed more alive than dead. It couldn't technically be categorized as an undead. "Was that why I was able to get it on the summoning list?" He captured a couple more to confirm his theory.
