Limitless The Strongest Revenant-Chapter 1062: Fucking Newb! [1/2]

Specters.

They were not the peak of the Reaper world. But they carried incredible power. My relationship with them has been quite complicated. I got beaten up by four and defeated three.

The Nightmare Zachary Lynch. The Coroner Eva Baker. The Whirlwind Raymond Gertrude. And finally, The Living Metal Xander Rutherford. These were the bastards who pummeled me into dust.

I could make the excuses that I was still a newb when I fought them. But I was not so naive. They had the time to grow and to become powerful. Saying that they got lucky or that it was unfair was stupid. Each and every Specter ascended intentionally.

At the cost of their memories, they attained their power. It was not something everyone could do. Thus, unlike the Phantoms, Specters were treated like living legends. Each one drew respect and wielded unimaginable power.

From all the things Carlos and Herman told me, they didn't even use a fragment of their power against me. All four I fought seemed to be from North America. Meaning they were all Rulers.

Zach, who somehow created power from words, was probably a Creation Ruler.

Eva defied the rule of decomposition. So, I guess she was of the Distortion group.

Raymond gained the ability to manipulate wind, which was hard to determine.

And Xander, who wielded his body and turned it to mercury, could go both ways.

No matter what I did, they didn't even use their domains on me. It simply meant that I was a mere chick in their eyes. And while that made me a bit insulted, it was the truth. I have grown by leaps and bounds since then. So much that I managed to fight and defeat three Specters.

Although defeat may be an overstatement. Among the three I defeated, two were Legion Summoners. The Condor Carlos Rodríguez and The Sierra Herman Fernández. The last was my own Dearest princess Lilly Browning-Smith, a Distortion Ruler.

Carlos Rodríguez and Herman Fernández had 90% of their output reduced. And even then, they almost brought my kingdom to its knees. If it wasn't for the fact that they were near the end of their lives, I probably would have also lost.

As for Lilly, while we fought, we still didn't fight with our everything. For one, I didn't want to hurt the woman I love. And she also didn't go all out. True to her words, she didn't weaponize her portals. If she did that to me, much like the A-Ranked Tunneling worms, I would die in seconds.

This battle was the first real chance to fight Specters at full power. And while Pierre and Zanele requested that I spare them, I didn't really have a reason to do so. Kazeima was already on our side. I could have him and my faction handle the aftermath.

The freedom to fight without political worries made me feel alive. Fortunately or unfortunately, the prince in front of me was a pure musclehead. If force was the only thing he understood, that worked for me just fine.

"You ignorant little fucker! Let me show you a beatdown you will take to your grave!" he shouted.

"FINE BY ME! YOU FUGLY INSECT!"

I had all my soul avatars train our weapons on him and unleashed everything. However, the Scorpion Warlock raised his body on his hind legs and then slammed down. Like a shovel, he abruptly sent soil, rock, and dust upward, forming a makeshift wall.

The bullets I fired all slammed into the wall, ripping it apart. But the prince suddenly vanished as the wall collapsed. At least that was what he wanted me to believe.

As all of my avatars were out and fighting, naturally one of them used [Executioner]. Thus, before the battle even began, Friday had already invoked [Track] on both of my opponents. But I needed him to think that he had succeeded in getting away.

"Fuck, where is he?!" I had Sunday shout. Then I had everyone save Saturday place their backs to each other. We then began shooting everything in our vicinity. This would have been the normal response when trying to find an invisible opponent.

[He bought it. I am marking his position; I will continue the act. You will alert him if you manage to hit him.]

'Ah… this is annoying. If he knew I had [Heavy Gunner], he would be so calm to hide underground so close. Also, why isn't the woman moving?'

[Let him think that we are confused. Their arrogance will be their death. She is already spreading her {Fancy} pollen. As the majority of her {Fates} make her invisible to aggression, ignoring her is the right call. Besides, when she does move, she will pay dearly.]

'Well, Saturday will attack her the moment she moves; in front of Fakers, she might as well be naked.'

[It seems they are far too careless. [Ninja's] [Shadow] is inferior to [Ethereal], yet these two seem unaware that Saturday has vanished. Pairing a support and a siege unit is incredibly foolish. As expected of rich people who have slaves dying for them. They know nothing of combat.]

Hearing [Maestro's] rebukes made me laugh out loud. Carlos and Herman already shared that our concealment techniques were already above the norm.

So, if even veteran Specters had a hard time finding us, what more of those who were unaccustomed to fighting against the invisible?

'Whatever, just focus on the Scorpion Warlock for now. If what you told me earlier is true, then there is not even a need to fear her.'

[Yes, the Silver Moth is a support, Reaper. Her abilities all revolve around passively empowering her partner. Her only offensive ability is geared towards mind manipulation. She uses illusions and pheromones spread through the air. {Mind Shield} and {Digest} would nullify both.]

'It was a good thing we had Amari and Olamide by our side, no?' I joked.

[Indeed, they willingly volunteered the information to Exa. Even the targets everyone chose earlier were based on the most optimal pairings. Our forces have over an 85% chance of victory.]

This was the power of information. Despite there being nine Specters, we knew most of their abilities and tactics. Similar to the hippo Lilly took out, Exa and the girls sent the Sirens who preyed on the Africans' weaknesses.

If the Hippo Specter was allowed to stay on land, we would have lost. The fucker had a domain that drew stamina from the earth. So long as he remained on land, he was like a bull that would never tire.

Liv took the Shark Specter, which had extremely powerful attacks but was weak to counterattacks. Robyn was given the Specter, which turned into a juggernaut once allowed to shift. The tactics of Hellsend could be seen as cowardly. But no one could contest their results.

Naturally, unlike when I fought Carlos and Herman, I knew how the Specters I was paired with fought. It was as if I skipped the part about learning a video game's bosses' attacks. With [Maestro] and Exa, there was no way this fucker could even hope to beat me.

[Here it comes. He will come out of concealment. His domain's effects are as Olaminde said. The prince acts like a muscle-brained idiot but is a cunning warlock through and through. He is not a Hybrid shifter but a Tyrant.]

Ever since the invasion of South America, I have had one of my brains devoted to research. Reaper combat was its focus. The fact that my girls almost died due to my negligence was something I never wanted to repeat. As such, I have reviewed and learned a lot since then.

The fighting patterns of Shifters, in particular, were hard to predict. Their two paths were Hybrid or Tyrant. I incorrectly thought that it meant the appearance of their soulforms. But it went much further than that. It was their ethos.

Hybrids added new tactics to their combat style per the new changes they gained. A good example was Nomvula; she had a leopard form as a base. She then added fire, a scorpion's tail, and wings. It changed her appearance but also morphed her combat style.

The weakness of beast forms was distance. Nomvula supplemented this with being able to shoot fire. Her claws and teeth supposedly were too weak to take down armored targets, so she gained poison. Finally, being grounded prevented her from attacking flying enemies, so she adapted.

Little by little, her weaknesses were being supplemented by her base hybrid form. The way she fought naturally transformed as well. This way of thinking was what defined a hybrid ethos.

Contrastingly, the Tyrants were the opposite. The reason why they were called tyrants was not because they always had to be pure elements or animals. It was because their mindsets were inflexible as shit. Meaning they only had one trick. And that was all they cared about.

[He has finished charging. It will arrive in three seconds.]

'Got it.'

Trying my best to act, I had my soul avatars shiver, tremble, and act scared. We were shooting haphazardly without direction. At least that was what [Maestro] was trying to do. The Scorpion Warlock was notorious for his combat style. One that was fairly simple.

He hid underground and charged his fireball. Said fireball was powerful enough to destroy even cities. With that kind of firepower, few could oppose him. So the normal tactic was to attack him before he could get the chance to fire his single, overpowered attack.

This was where his woman came into play. She would dance around spreading her crap to confuse and beguile her opponents. Amara's presence didn't require them to have a vanguard. Unlike the girls and me who trained to fight alone, they were quite pampered.
