Limitless The Strongest Revenant-Chapter 1081: Omnislash [2/2]
'Sigh. It's the same spill. The name.'
I already knew it would end like this. If Gaspar and Bifrons were nothing but servants, there would be someone on top of them. Rather than a Archdemon at the top of the Ars Goetia, who could be dragged down, it had to be someone outside the rules.
'And the only one to fit the bill is the snake bastard obsessed with names.'
{Now bid upon mine name and end thy suffering. Reunite with those thou love and awake from this nightmare.}
"Limitless, the reason Hellsgate does not use distinct names is because of this being. Names are his power. Refer to him as he who slumbers,"
{My Child. Why must you suffer like this? Rest. I free you from your suffering. You have no need to endure any longer. Call my name and you shall know peace.}
The sleeping bastard appeared in the memories of all my past lives. It was something even the goddesses were terrified of. And it still existed now as the Reaper Gaspar who turned into a ghoul, had the same experience.
It only confirmed what I already knew. My enemy was not the Archdemons, nor the undead. It was solely this name-obsessed snake fucker. And while the things they seduced me with sound good. They made one grave critical error.
They believed that I was scared of their apocalypse, the Archdemons and the snake fucker. Like the stories, they tried to brainwash, subordinate, and trick me into agreeing. If I did, they would probably hold my girls as slaves, or even rape them to break me.
'You fucking demonic pieces of crap… I am going to enjoy butchering you all.'
The mere thought filled my head with rage. If anyone saw my link right now, it would be violently scribbling like a Richter scale during a magnitude 9 earthquake.
'No matter the reason, I am no longer human, so I refuse to cower in fear ever again.'
That was the promise I made during my first night as a Reaper. While I worried for my girls, hiding in a hotel in Hellsgate hoping they did not kill me was never my style. No. My style was to be so strong, they couldn't even look at me funny.
'Exa. Create a program from THAT move.'
[Done. Program from said video game has been created. Fuck them up, my lord.]
When I made the decision, the last of the Archdemons who hadn't approached me paled. He shouted frantically, "MALPHAS! BUER! RUN!"
"[Omnislash]."
Yellow-green screws or Malphas, and Vomit Pink Buer both grimaced when I vanished. They tried to turn around, tried to find me, but it was too late.
[Omnislash {Program} starting. 3 targets, {Replace} will be reloaded three times for a total of 21 hits… Souls loaded… Executing…]
They might not know what Omnislash meant, but to any gamer, it was something that blew everyone's minds. And now, all to kill every fucking demon bastard in this room, I used my abilities to recreate it.
{Replace} that allowed me to teleport to any place I could see.
[Jackhammer] that rewound my limbs for a second strike.
[AutoRewind] that refilled {Replace} as long as I had enough souls.
While I could do it with all my power before, it made no sense to do so. After all, I was using guns. But with the long brawl I had with the Artificial Arisen, I found the need for such finishing moves. And although I couldn't incorporate {Fast Forward} into the program, I had an idea.
My body teleported behind Malphas; the moment I manifested again in reality, a quick time event appeared in my vision. An X symbol moved from left to right; there was a silhouette of an X button along its path.
Any gamer who saw such a design would know what I do. I wound my arms back and waited. The X symbol overlapped with the X button.
'{Fast Forward}!'
Triggering the quick time event in my mind, a large amount of malice erupted from my body. It then caused the Faker mace to slam into the Arch Demon's back without warning. Violently, his body erupted into a bloody mess.
[Stand by for {Replace}. 3. 2. 1.]
Even with {Endure}, I felt my hands go numb. The counterforce from a full-powered {Fast Forward} strike was just that powerful. But I had already started the assault; I was locked in place till it completed. I surrendered my body to {Replace} and vanished in the next microsecond.
"Keuyrk!!"
BOOM!
When I reappeared, I was beside Buer; Malphas, although bloody, still found a way to stand even with only the left side of his body. He vomited blood and had eyes that burned in rage. But I couldn't even spare a moment for him.
I only had a 0.1 microsecond before I would reappear at my next target. I channeled all my focus into Buer, and swung with all my might. [Jackhammer] already reseted my arms and body, saving me precious time.
The quick-time event flashed.
'{Fast Forward}.'
Another body exploded.
[Stand by for {Replace}. 3. 2. 1.]
"BUER!"
'{Fast Forward}.'
Malphas' still standing half was blown apart.
The third, Archdemon Morax, tried to help, but his turn came soon enough.
"What?!"
I appeared in front of him mid-swing.
'{Fast Forward}.'
"Kueark!"
With all three Archdemons in pieces, I continued my assault. They tried to fend me off by activating all sorts of {Fates} and {Entropies}, but due to the Fakers, none of it mattered.
"{FAST FORWARD}!"
Overwhelmed, they soon morphed into monsters. Much like the African shifters; they grew and turned into various species, but sadly, I would never give them the time they needed.
'The only time enemies wait for transformations is in the comic books and anime, you bastards!'
'{Fast Forward}.'
Landing every quick time event, my [Omnislash] assault continued. In less than 2 seconds, I turned the three Archdemons to mincemeat. Despite transforming their bodies, none of their limbs were intact; their organs ravaged. By the 4th strike each received, they no longer moved.
When the {Program} finally ended…
"[Omnislash]!"
I didn't stop.
'Play dead all you want. I will not let you get to your second stage!'
I restarted the {Program} anew. In most RPGs, it was possible to beat up a boss so badly that the game itself gives him plot armor so that he can continue his spiel, event, or even back story.
Most gamers hated those as what was the point of over-leveling your characters? But right now? This was reality, so there was no way in hell these bastards would have any plot armor.
The moment I started, I would not let them have even a chance to counterattack.
"[Omnislash]!"
"[Omnislash]!"
"[Omnislash]!"
"[Omnislash]!"
"[Omnislash]!"
...
...
"[Omnislash]!"
The corpses that remained got smaller and smaller. If even Reapers could revive with a sliver of their soulgems intact, these bastards could too. So I would not stop until I could still see their stats with {Insight}.

It was sad that I couldn't see any HP and MP bars; that would have made fighting much better. However, the fact that the Archdemons seem to be mutated Arisen was unexpected.
'I wonder if there is a connection between Successors, Arisen, and the Archdemons.'
When I erased the last bits of the three Archdemons, I finally ceased my attacks. I felt my body grow numb only for [AutoRewind] to heal me just moments later. When I scanned the place, the status screens for the three demons didn't even show up anymore.
"Hmm, did they run? Or did I really kill them?"
[I doubt anything would survive that, my lord. You triggered [Omnislash] 60 times. In the span of 300 seconds. The amount of kinetic energy you released was enough to level an entire city.]
"Oh. But did I gain Soul? I don't think that was everything. It seemed too easy."
[…]
"What?"
[My lord. You have gained soul, so much that you should not even be able to stand. However, ever since becoming an Arisen, it seems that you no longer get damaged by malice. At least not in the way that you expect.]
I let go of my Faker mace and looked at my fist. I opened and closed it a few times and wondered.
"Were Archdemons always this easy to kill?"
[No, my lord. Archdemons usually need Specters to kill, but you have already grown beyond that even before creating a domain. You are in IRIS's game verbiage... a broken cheat character.]
"Pfft! Hahaha!"
I couldn't stop myself and laughed heartily; who would think that someone labeled "Formless trash" would end up being a cheat character? Taking a few minutes to release the tension from my body, I just took some time to normalize.
While [Omnislash] refilled my souls, it was tough on the body. It was only due to {Regen} that my body still felt fine. Each [Omnislash] was tiring as heck. I didn't have a Discipline in place when I began my assault, so I felt the full brunt of the effects.
"I should use either [Defender], [Gladiator], or [Sky Dancer]."
I eventually ended my contemplation and looked around the room.
In the altar where the Archdemons originally stood was a fairly large stone table. And a body lay on top of it. One whose face I knew very well.
"Hannibal Mandela…"
