Chapter 159: Chapter 159: The Little Sunflower Classroom Opens

Stella Grant appeared candid and calm.

Silas Sutton looked down at her, his breath caught in his chest.

He wanted to explain, but didn’t know how.

Indeed, he orchestrated the situation, but it had nothing to do with what happened today.

In her mind, she thought he was afraid she’d become a burden, so he found someone to fan the flames.

What she didn’t know was that he set up the scenario only to have her move in for her protection.

One looked up while the other looked down, their gaze locked, and the atmosphere was oppressive and heavy.

The man on the ground realized Stella already knew the truth. Clutching his side, he staggered up to Silas and said, "President Sutton, I..."

Silas’ eyes were deep, filled with hostility, "Get lost!"

Seeing Silas flare up, the man didn’t dare say more, quickly making his way to the elevator and pressing the button.

After pressing a few times and seeing the elevator still on the first floor, the man slipped into the stairwell.

Once the hallway was left with just Stella and Silas, Stella calmed down, pursed her lips and said, "I’m going in to get my luggage."

Silas looked at her silently, his deep eyes not revealing any excess emotion.

Stella wasn’t sure how long she would stay with Silas, so she only took some daily necessities and a change of clothes.

Not much, so it would be easy for her to leave at any time.

When Stella came out with the suitcase, Silas was leaning against the hallway wall, smoking with his head down.

Seeing Stella come out, Silas extinguished the cigarette and stepped forward to help her with her luggage.

Stella glanced at him, didn’t refuse, and released her hand to press the elevator button.

Silas stood behind her, his eyes softened a bit, and he said, "The person was arranged by me, but it’s not what you think."

Stella, "Mm."

Silas, "Stella, I did handle this matter wrongly."

Stella didn’t turn back, her voice light, "It’s okay."

Silas stepped forward half a step, wrapped an arm around her waist, and said in a low voice, "There won’t be a next time."

Stella’s fingers hanging by her side slightly curled, and she turned to look at Silas, "I don’t understand the internal strife of your big family, but since I’m already involved, rest assured, I won’t hold you back."

Silas bowed his head, "To repay kindness?"

Stella lifted her gaze to him, pondered for a moment, then said, "I’ve only had one relationship in my life, and both the process and the ending weren’t pleasant. I have no interest in proper dating now, let alone being involved in a secret affair with a man..."

As Stella spoke in fragmented thoughts, Silas’ eyes darkened, "So?"

Stella said, "So, stop provoking me."

Silas, "What if I pursue you seriously and offer you an open relationship?" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Stella’s eyes fluttered, and she pushed away the arm Silas had around her waist, stepping aside, "I’m not interested."

Silas scrutinized her, "You’re not uninterested, you’re scared."

Stella remained silent, staring at the closed elevator doors.

Silas looked at her profile and narrowed his eyes, "Stella, if even someone like Flynn Shepherd you could date and even discuss marriage, what’s wrong with dating me?"

As Silas finished speaking, Stella didn’t respond, and just as the elevator doors opened, she stepped in with her heels clicking.

After a few seconds, Stella looked at Silas still standing outside the elevator and asked, "Aren’t you coming?"

Silas tightened his jaw and strode into the elevator.

On the way to Silas’ villa, they each drove their own cars.

As soon as Silas got into his car, he dialed Ben Lawson’s number.

Without waiting for Ben to speak, he started scolding, "Did a donkey kick your brain?"

Ben was already angry after being hung up on, and didn’t hold back, "Weren’t you the one who asked me to arrange the person?"

Silas was mildly angry, "She was just held hostage by a construction worker asking for debts at the company gate today."

Upon hearing this, Ben choked, "I didn’t know that. You didn’t tell me."

Silas agitatedly raised a hand to loosen the shirt buttons around his neck, "Where did you find the person?"

Ben thought it was his person who had been too rough, paused, and asked, "Was Stella hurt?"

Silas scoffed, "Hurt? If I had been another half a minute late, Stella would have been lulled to sleep by his storytelling."

Ben didn’t understand, completely puzzled, "Huh?"

Silas clenched his teeth and described the scene he had witnessed and heard. Ben, on the other end of the phone, was laughing out loud.

Silas was in a bad mood and couldn’t stand hearing his laughter, keeping a cold face, he hung up the phone directly.

But Ben, oblivious to the danger, called back.

Silas impatiently pressed the answer button, "If you still want to see tomorrow’s sunrise, you’d better not contact me again today."

Ben chuckled and consoled, "Relax, you need to stay calm. If your anger scares me, it’s fine, but scaring Stella would be bad."

Mentioning Stella, it felt as if Silas’ chest was hit by a punch.

Stifling, painful.

Seeing Silas fall silent, Ben laughed gently and spoke, "Mr. Sutton, in business, I’m not as good as you, but when it comes to courting women, you’re no match for me."

Silas smirked coldly, "Ha."

Ben, "Don’t doubt it. If you had my skills, you’d have won Stella over by now. Do you know what women like Stella lack the most?"

Silas’ face was steely, and rationally, he reminded himself not to respond, but in practice, he said, "Say it."

Ben in a knowing tone, said, "A sense of security."

Silas took a deep breath, his grip on the steering wheel tightening.

Ben knew he listened as he wasn’t swearing, and continued, "She’s had family troubles before. For so many years, she’s been holding on. Her mother is in this situation now too. To be honest, even a grown man, if someone reliable showed up, they’d cling to them like a life-saving straw or redemption."

Silas, "..."

Ben chuckled, "Mr. Sutton, if you want to win over Stella, first you need to make her feel you’re reliable."
