Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 190: Washing Hands to Make Soup
This scene was too seductive.
Stella Grant stood at the entrance, momentarily lost in thought.
By the time she came to her senses, Silas Sutton had already turned off the car and walked over to lean against the kitchen door frame.
Their eyes met, and Silas’s playful and mischievous grin was unmistakable, "Am I handsome?"
Stella glanced at him, lowered her eyes to change her shoes, not replying.
Silas teased, "Afraid to admit it?"
Stella said, "Handsome, but can it fill a meal?"
Silas replied, "Yes, after all, there’s a saying ’so good-looking you could eat them up’."
Stella finished changing her shoes and walked inside, "There’s also a saying ’painting a cake to satisfy hunger’."
After speaking, Stella went straight to the bathroom to wash her hands.
Silas followed her into the bathroom and teased, "You know quite a lot of sayings."
Stella’s lips twitched slightly, "Yeah, I graduated from elementary school."
As Stella finished speaking, Silas chuckled softly, standing beside her, his large hand slipping inside her clothes inch by inch...
Stella shivered, gasping, "Silas Sutton."
Silas’s voice was low and deep, "I never thought there’d be a day I’d willingly make soup for a woman."
Hearing Silas’s words, Stella’s lowered eyes quivered gently, "You don’t have to do it."
Silas said, "I’ve worked hard to join you, I won’t give you a reason to kick me out."
Stella, "..."
Stella felt Silas’s feelings for her were intense and strange.
She had never fallen in love at first sight with anyone.
But she always felt that love at first sight shouldn’t be this intense.
Silas’s feelings were like fire.
And it was a true flame at that.
Leaving her nowhere to hide.
During dinner, Silas asked Stella, "Did Auntie get scared today?"
Stella replied with a bite of food, "No."
Silas said, "I’ll have Orion bring a couple of people to guard Auntie’s ward door tomorrow, to prevent any trouble."
Hearing this, Stella frowned, "No need, my mom won’t be used to it."
Silas chuckled, serving her steamed fish, "How would Auntie know if you don’t tell her? Don’t worry, Orion and the others will pretend to be other patients’ families."
It had to be said, Silas’s cooking skills were impressive.
No wonder when he and Ben Lawson went to her place for dinner, he’d offered to help in the kitchen.
Thinking of Ben, Stella couldn’t help asking Silas, "Did you know about Ben previously sponsoring a student?"
Silas’s chopsticks paused, he replied stiffly, "Yes."
Stella asked, "Is he really my sponsor?"
Silas didn’t want to lie, but couldn’t tell the truth either, so he coughed lightly and said, "I’m not too sure about that, I only know he sponsored a student before."
Stella nodded.
Both last night and this morning had been exhausting for Stella, so after dinner, she bathed and went to bed early.
By the time Silas finished washing the dishes and returned, she was already sleeping soundly.
Silas at that moment was filled with desire; from the kitchen to the bedroom, he’d even decided on a few positions for the night.
Who knew Stella wouldn’t give him the chance at all.
Silas stood by the bed watching her for a moment, then lifted the corner of the blanket and got in.
As soon as he lay down, Stella instinctively snuggled over.
Silas watched her with raised eyebrows, then pulled her into his arms, kissed her forehead, "Good night, sweet dreams."
Perhaps Silas’s words worked.
That night, Stella indeed had a good dream.
In her dream, she returned to her childhood, a family of three, harmonious and happy.
But this wonderful dream had a good beginning but no good end, because before she dreamed the end, at dawn, she was woken by a phone call.
In a daze, Stella reached for her phone from the bedside table and pressed answer, "Hello."
When Stella finished speaking, Lynn Adler’s slightly trembling voice came from the other end, "Stella, your dad is back, can you come to the hospital?"
Lynn’s words instantly cleared Stella’s dazed mind.
Stella inhaled, "Got it."
Why did he come back a day early, and without notifying her?
After hanging up, Stella’s face looked grim.
She was lost in thought when a large hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her into a firm hold, followed by Silas’s deep, lazy morning voice from behind, "I’ll go with you."
Stella subconsciously didn’t want Silas to see her family’s mess.
She was about to refuse when Silas said, "No refusing."
Stella, "..."
From getting up to washing and going out, Stella took only ten minutes.
When the car reached the hospital, she and Silas parked and took the elevator upstairs. As they stepped off and reached Lynn’s ward door, they heard Kenneth Grant’s furious voice from inside, "What right do you have to argue with me? You raised your daughter to be a mistress, you’ve ruined my reputation."
