Chapter 270: Chapter 270: Lu Ke Growing Stronger

"It’s possible, I feel that this father and son duo are not bad. Judging by their situation, they haven’t just been out here for a day or two. Being able to stay overnight in the jungle means their skills are not much weaker than ours, maybe even stronger." Xu Yi said seriously. After all, if you’re going to cooperate, you want a strong partner, not someone weaker than yourself. Otherwise, you might as well go it alone.

"Yeah, I also think they’re quite impressive, and they’ve tamed a wild horse too." Lu Ke nodded. She thought this father and son didn’t seem that annoying, and cooperation seemed feasible.

After all, Wang Jin and Lu Yao are both girls; they can’t possibly look for another all-female team to cooperate with, right?

"But still, we won’t know until after a hundred days. Talking about this now is a bit premature." Xu Yi glanced at the Star Chart; there were still 29 days left until the 100th day.

During this time, maybe that father and son, or Wang Jin and the others, would be eliminated?

Many possibilities exist for things that haven’t happened yet.

So before the 100th day, determining who to cooperate with is really uncertain.

"Anyway, improving our own strength is what’s most important." As she spoke, Lu Ke swung her fist, hitting the sandbag a few times.

"Indeed, today I noticed the Giant Wolf has recovered well. Do you want to bring it out for a spar?" Xu Yi thought that seeing Lu Ke take on the leopard today, she seemed to have progressed compared to when she dealt with the Giant Wolf before.

"Sure, let it out for me to practice." Lu Ke nodded, looking eager to try.

Xu Yi went inside, then led the Giant Wolf out.

"Why do I feel like this Giant Wolf has been tamed by Xu Yi? It actually let itself be led out obediently?"

"Wolves generally have a strong sense of submission and will readily follow the lead wolf’s commands. So, being tamed through a beating is quite likely."

"Wishful thinking; it knows it can’t attack with the muzzle on. Once it’s off, it’ll definitely bite Xu Yi."

"It’s not that easy to tame! Even stray dogs are hard to train, let alone wolves, real wild wolves."

Xu Yi led the Giant Wolf out and then removed its muzzle.

As soon as the muzzle was off, the Giant Wolf lunged at Xu Yi, trying to bite his neck.

However, Xu Yi was prepared, and threw a punch at the Giant Wolf.

The Giant Wolf yelped in pain, growing even fiercer.

But Lu Ke had already rushed in, hitting the Giant Wolf’s snout with a punch, making it yelp again in pain.

And Lu Ke didn’t stop; she pinned the Giant Wolf’s head down and brought her knee up, striking its jaw.

The Giant Wolf shook its head, breaking free, and immediately tried to bite Lu Ke’s thigh.

The person and the wolf began attacking each other.

Lu Ke didn’t dare slack off, fully concentrating on dealing with the Giant Wolf. After all, the leopard was smaller, with limited strength, but the Giant Wolf was different, surprisingly strong with aggressive attacks.

If she wasn’t careful, she could get bitten by the Giant Wolf.

That’s a feeling Lu Ke didn’t want to experience.

Xu Yi was slicing the leopard meat while occasionally checking on Lu Ke and the Giant Wolf.

Compared to before, Lu Ke seemed more at ease in dealing with it, not struggling as much.

After an hour, the Giant Wolf was beaten down by Lu Ke, its tongue sticking out and panting heavily.

Lu Ke rested her hands on her thighs to support herself, bending over. Not lying on the ground was a huge improvement.

However, her muscles were still very sore.

After resting for a while, she struggled to walk inside, sat on a wooden stump, and leaned back to rest.

Xu Yi put the muzzle back on the Giant Wolf and dragged it back inside to tie it up. It seems that in another three to five days, Lu Ke would easily handle the Giant Wolf.

So, the Giant Wolf was still quite valuable.

Xu Yi placed the leopard meat into the pot to stew and then started massaging Lu Ke.

"Xu Yi, your technique is amazing. It feels so much better after you’re done," Lu Ke said gratefully. The muscle soreness was really uncomfortable; moving even a little hurt badly.

"As long as it helps relieve it. You’re already much better than last time," Xu Yi smiled and said, then he brought out the stewed leopard meat, serving it into bowls.

"Yeah, I can feel it too. The progress is really fast. Here, things can’t be explained with common sense," Lu Ke said, glancing at Xu Yi.

He was still much stronger than her!

Today, Lu Ke’s appetite wasn’t affected much.

After eating, she went to wash the pots and bowls.

Xu Yi had intended to do it, but she stopped him.

After a break, Lu Ke went for a bath.

After bathing, Lu Ke felt rejuvenated, with only some soreness remaining in her muscles, which didn’t affect her work.

They had agreed to boil the ceramic jar’s pulp tonight and not to let Xu Yi work alone.

"I’ll handle this; you go lie down on the bed." Xu Yi said when he saw Lu Ke washing her Black Scale Soft Armor after her bath.

"No worries, I feel much better now that I’ve bathed," Lu Ke said with a smile and then went to the creek with a torch to wash her soft armor and change of underwear. After all, they both had two sets now, which they could rotate.

Meanwhile, Xu Yi brought the ceramic jar down from upstairs.

The honey in it had been poured into a wooden bucket before dinner, and the remaining honey had trickled down until now, with only a little left sticking inside.

After a simple rinse at the bottom, Xu Yi scooped the soaked flax stalks into the ceramic jar and started boiling them.

"Xu Yi, you should go take a bath; I’ll handle this for now," Lu Ke said upon returning from washing clothes. After all, Xu Yi had done plenty of work and had sweated a lot.

Moreover, if he didn’t wash now, it’d be even colder later.

"Okay, I’ll go take a bath first. This damned weather is getting colder," Xu Yi said, drawing water and preparing for a bath. After all, all that was needed here was to keep the fire going, which wasn’t hard work, so letting Lu Ke handle it was fine.

After heating two buckets of water, Xu Yi went in for a bath.

Midway through his bath, Xu Yi heard some noise coming from outside, as if some wild animal had arrived outside their camp.

"Lu Ke, what’s going on outside?" Xu Yi poked his head out to ask, then saw a group of animals passing by their camp.

"Wild donkeys?" Upon seeing the animals, Xu Yi’s eyes lit up.

These would be much more suitable as mounts than reindeer, though not quite as good as wild horses.
