Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 308: Fighting to the End
Xu Yi couldn’t dodge in time, and his arm was clawed by the Bear Beast.
His clothes were torn to shreds on the spot.
Fortunately, he was still wearing Black Scale Soft Armor. Otherwise, the flesh on his small arm might have been clawed away, exposing the bone.
Xu Yi didn’t expect the Bear Beast to attack him instead of Ju Ha.
At this moment, Lu Ke had already retrieved her lance and stabbed it into the Bear Beast’s body once again.
However, Lu Ke felt that this time it was incredibly difficult, as if the knife-made spearhead had become dull.
"Hasn’t Xu Yi’s knife absorbed blood in a long time? It’s surprising that it couldn’t even chop off the Bear Beast’s arm."
"But even so, it’s still a knife. At least it can cut into the Bear Beast’s flesh."
"Luckily, there’s Black Scale Soft Armor. Otherwise, Xu Yi’s arm would be useless."
"Losing an arm would be considered lucky. I think there’s a higher chance of him getting killed outright."
"Haha, without the Black Scale Soft Armor, would Xu Yi and Lu have acted so recklessly? They usually are so cautious. But the state of the knife, they probably didn’t anticipate it."
"This battle is tough; the Bear Beast is too strong."
"I think this showcases the true strength of Xu Yi and Lu Ke. After all, their weapons are like divine artifacts."
"Yeah, only this way is fair for other teams, right?"
Xu Yi had no opportunity to feed his machete with blood. He could only keep attacking the Bear Beast and avoid its attacks.
He and Lu Ke cooperated, constantly adding wounds to the Bear Beast.
One must admit, the Bear Beast was truly formidable.
Its strength, attack power, and defense were the strongest Xu Yi had encountered.
A few times when it was about to harm Lu Ke, Xu Yi would immediately use Binding Skills.
However, against the Bear Beast, the Binding Skills only lasted one second instead of the usual two. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
But even one second was enough for Lu Ke to avoid its claws and sharp teeth.
Lu Ke didn’t know how many times she had stabbed the Bear Beast. Many times, only part of the spearhead penetrated its skin, so the damage was actually quite limited.
In comparison, Xu Yi’s machete caused more damage to it.
The arm that had been previously slashed was almost severed after being hacked at several times by Xu Yi.
Once one arm was severed, the Bear Beast’s attack power would be significantly reduced.
The two cooperated with each other, and with the protection of Black Scale Soft Armor, they fought and retreated without sustaining any injuries.
"The cooperation between Xu Yi and Lu Ke is really impressive; their rhythm is very steady."
"It feels like watching a movie; they’re truly getting stronger."
"Soon this Bear Beast will be worn down. I wonder if there are any cubs in its lair. Raising one would be far superior to Ju Ha."
"Hope no other wild beast comes to take advantage. I think this Bear Beast’s hide is tougher than a wild boar’s and could be used to make leather armor."
Xu Yi and Lu Ke fought with increasing courage and became more in sync.
More and more wounds appeared on the Bear Beast’s body, and its frequency of lunges and bites decreased.
"Break!"
Xu Yi suddenly leaped up and slashed down on the Bear Beast’s arm.
The Bear Beast’s arm was truly cut off by Xu Yi.
The Bear Beast let out a miserable cry and hurriedly turned to flee.
The somewhat exhausted Xu Yi immediately chased after it. If it escaped, all their efforts would be in vain.
Lu Ke also reacted quickly, immediately chasing after it.
However, the Bear Beast didn’t run far and instead returned to its den.
Xu Yi guessed that there must be bear cubs inside; otherwise, the Bear Beast would have chosen to escape into the woods.
Xu Yi and Lu Ke didn’t stop attacking; they continued to press the Bear Beast.
Survival is cruel. If Xu Yi and Lu Ke had their arms broken by the Bear Beast, it might bite their necks the next second.
With one arm lost, the Bear Beast couldn’t attack Xu Yi and Lu Ke effectively anymore.
A few minutes later, the Bear Beast collapsed, its neck had been pierced by Lu Ke, and it was covered in blood.
Xu Yi and Lu Ke also sat on the ground to rest. After nearly an hour of furious assault, both of their arms were a bit soft.
They hadn’t felt like this in a long time.
After resting for a few minutes, they heard a voice.
"Hunted a Bear Beast, received 20 points."
Then, after resting for another 20 minutes, Xu Yi and Lu Ke felt they had mostly recovered.
"Xu Yi, do you think there are bear cubs inside?" Lu Ke glanced at the entrance of the Bear Beast’s lair, then asked.
"Yeah, probably there are. But maybe Ju Ha killed them?" Xu Yi saw Ju Ha’s tail and wasn’t sure when it slipped in.
"Didn’t we lose 20 points because of that?" Lu Ke glanced at Ju Ha, feeling the impulse to stab its anus with the lance.
points could exchange for something very important.
"Alright, don’t blame it. It did pretty well today," Xu Yi said, then walked to the entrance, picked up the reins, and tugged at Ju Ha.
Ju Ha quickly shrank out, holding an animal in its mouth.
But, it was already dead.
Its fur was still short, and it didn’t have any visible wounds.
Evidently, it wasn’t bitten to death by Ju Ha.
"It probably froze to death. This Bear Beast likely wasn’t in its nest last night," Xu Yi said, then took its body from Ju Ha’s mouth.
Ultimately, it’s still food.
"Xu Yi, this Bear Beast’s hide is really tough. It should be good for making shoe soles. Let’s skin some of it and take it back. The front is all torn up, so only the back is usable," Lu Ke observed the Bear Beast’s carcass and said.
Xu Yi nodded. Not only was this Bear Beast’s hide tough, but its meat was also remarkably tough. The only tasty parts were its four paws, much like bear paws.
The leg meat, which Xu Yi and Lu Ke had once stewed, was indeed hard to chew.
Then, Xu Yi handed his dagger to Lu Ke.
"You do the skinning, and I’ll feed some blood to the machete. Otherwise, if it stays dull like this, it will be tough to deal with other beasts." Saying this, Xu Yi prepared to grab his machete.
But Lu Ke grabbed it first.
"Xu Yi, is it dangerous?" Lu Ke still felt somewhat resistant to the blood-sucking machete.
She thought it wasn’t as sharp as before, but it could still function as a regular machete.
"No, we’ve been using it for so long, and nothing has happened. Besides, you’re holding it now, and it’s not sucking your blood," Xu Yi said calmly since the machete didn’t need much blood, and he could supply it.
Moreover, having grown used to the Divine Weapon, switching to a regular machete felt uncomfortable for Xu Yi.
