Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant-Chapter 2389 - 99: Six Paths
Whirr——
In the soundlessly spinning vortex of the Realm Sea.
Silhouettes of cultivators emerged one by one.
These cultivators appeared wooden, as if they had lost their souls, stepping straight out from the vortex in a constant stream.
Walking on the mirror-like stone floor, they made almost no sound at all.
The stone floor reflected the grand and exquisite beams of the Buddhist temple above, along with the statues of Arhats and Bodhisattvas seated high on both sides...
Until the last cultivator stepped out.
After a brief vacancy, a monk's figure also stepped out from the vortex.
Almost as soon as he emerged, the vortex behind him closed silently.
The monk's face was solemn as he looked around, then raised his hand and placed it upright before him, bowing towards the Bodhisattvas and Arhats guarding the place:
"Supreme True Buddha, Wisdom None, I greet Wisdom Void Bodhisattva, Wisdom Sea Bodhisattva, Wisdom Sound Bodhisattva... I greet all Arhats."
"Supreme True Buddha."
In the empty Buddhist temple, countless monks' voices chanting the name of Buddha suddenly rang out.
It was like a sacred hymn, bringing a sense of peace to the heart.
Yet within the great hall, the cultivators remained as though they were empty shells, showing not the slightest reaction.
"Again, we have returned."
Beside Wisdom None, an unnoticed figure in a green robe stood quietly concealed in the void, clearly only a few feet away, yet seemingly worlds apart.
His gaze silently swept across the entire hall.
Compared to last time, when only Wisdom Void Bodhisattva was present in the hall, this time both sides were lined with statues of Arhats, either sitting or standing, each side hosting twenty-four, all gazing at Wisdom None and the cultivators he brought back.
With kind faces, yet their gaze was like selecting suitable livestock.
In the center of the hall stood the imposing figures of three Bodhisattvas manifesting Dharma Aspects.
The one in the center was the same Wisdom Void Bodhisattva he encountered last time; on either side sat slightly smaller Bodhisattvas, their gaze upon the cultivators carrying an air of scrutiny.
But neither these three Bodhisattvas nor the Arhats, despite his scrutiny, showed any awareness.
The green-robed figure felt inexplicably sentimental.
Last time, his realm was low, requiring caution and fearing being discovered by the monks, he had to use the Wind-Driving Staff to disguise himself as a mote of dust hidden within a cultivator's garment.
This time, he walked openly beside Wisdom None, standing boldly before the monks, yet no one perceived his presence.
Time, truly a marvelous creation in the world.
While reflecting.
Wisdom Void Bodhisattva, seated high in the center of the hall, withdrew his scrutinizing gaze and gave a slight smile to Wisdom None:
"Wisdom None Arhat's journey to the Sea of Chaos Realm has been arduous and meritorious; I wonder if the situation within the Sea of Chaos Realm has changed and whether it aligns with our previous speculations..."
Wisdom None, not daring to neglect, fully disclosed all he saw and heard, and the actions taken within the Sea of Chaos Realm.
The mention of a fourth domain surprised Wisdom Void Bodhisattva and others slightly.
"This Little Cang World remains well hidden, never exposed over many years."
Wisdom None explained:
"The Sea of Chaos Realm may not be vast but isn't small either; hiding a domain is not impossible. However, I've secretly placed measures to prevent their smooth unification."
Upon hearing this, Wisdom Void Bodhisattva nodded in satisfaction and said with a smile:
"This accomplishment is truly commendable; I will report it to the Western Great Bodhisattva to credit your merits."
"However, before this... Wisdom None Arhat, you'll need to endure some grievance."
Wisdom None was taken aback:
"Grievance?"
Before the words had fallen, the Arhats simultaneously acted, and from above the hall descended a golden net inscribed with the word '卍'. Beneath Wisdom None and the cultivators, a lotus rose instantly.
"Wisdom Void Bodhisattva, what is the meaning of this?!"
Wisdom None's expression changed slightly, yet he dared not act rashly, let the golden net envelop him and the cultivators entirely, and looked to the largest Bodhisattva at the center with a voice filled with confusion and anger.
Wisdom Void Bodhisattva smiled with no true joy and spoke coldly:
"Wisdom None Arhat, do not be anxious; we simply fear a repeat of last time with Pu Yuan, hence conducting a modest inspection."
"Although the Sea of Chaos Realm is rife with sins and escaping true Dao attainment is impossible, exceptions exist; the Western Great Bodhisattva suspects someone last time deceived Pu Yuan, escaping the Sea of Chaos Realm; to prevent escape again, we were ordered to vigilantly guard here."
Wisdom None, though angered, dared not act against Wisdom Void Bodhisattva, and the eye at his brow slightly opened and closed, unwilling:
"Even if a cultivator achieves Crossing Tribulation within the Sea of Chaos Realm, could they deceive this eye of mine?"
"This isn't certain, but it's precautionary merely."
"Hold no grievance, as this matter I have already consulted the Northern Great Bodhisattva."
The smile faded entirely from Wisdom Void Bodhisattva's face, he flicked the end of the golden net gently.
The golden net tightened swiftly.
It clung closely to Wisdom None and the cultivators.
Knowing that the Northern Great Bodhisattva had consented, Wisdom None, despite anger, was compelled to comply obediently.
The golden net, like vines, entwined his body, spreading golden light.
It tightened more, yet without further change.
Seeing this, Wisdom Void Bodhisattva's expression slightly altered:
"Could the Great Bodhisattva be mistaken?"
"Was Pu Yuan's previous death unrelated to the Sea of Chaos Realm?"
The Bodhisattvas on either side, seeing this, also nodded slightly, whispering:
"Perhaps it was an error."
