Lord of Mysterious Wizard-Chapter 570 - 522 My Master (4000-word - !)_2
It’s not just a matter of taking lives, everyone realized with sudden clarity, the madness and chaos before had contaminated the soul.
In other words, once they succumb, they wouldn’t even have the chance to become intelligent undead.
They each used their methods, attempting to shake off the "Guides" that followed them like bone-maggots, and tried to disperse the pervasive, hysterical madness in the air, as they moved away in their struggle.
Behind them, Tang Qi and the Red-Hat Girl stood like two "nonexistent" statues, watching everyone leave.
One second!
Two seconds!
Three seconds!
As the figures of the Transcendents completely vanished into the darkness,
Tang Qi’s eyes narrowed slightly, his keen perception sensed the madness that filled the corridor beginning to thin out bit by bit. It hadn’t dissipated, but what was left was an insignificant portion, no longer capable of making a Transcendent lose their reason in an instant.
Beside him, the girl’s voice came through,
"Her gaze, has shifted away."
"Her?"
Tang Qi’s expression turned cold, and his mind immediately began to form some speculations.
In this special Secret Realm, the most likely "she" referred to the Dream Master.
If things were developing normally, the current Dream Master should be a kind and innocent girl, unfortunately, each "Node" here, and the worlds within these nodes, have nothing to do with normal.
This place is filled with distortion and madness.
Like a pig demon wielding a butcher’s knife to hack at people, or a little girl striking matches to light the Candle Man.
The "abnormalities" he had previously encountered controlled places ranging from a camp composed of three houses to a street, or a block of residential areas, none of them very large.
But within the current node, there lay a Dream World.
And yet, without even seeing the main character, the appearance of the Rat Servant, soldier, Ghost guides, and the small worlds hidden behind every door... Just from these "subordinates", one could indirectly verify the strength of that Dream Master.
The girl turned her head to look at Tang Qi, paused for a moment, then answered with a cold voice, "Yes, the mad... her!"
As she spoke, the Red-Hat Girl silently moved forward.
A flicker of unusual light passed through Tang Qi’s eyes, having just felt the madness and chaotic atmosphere, he felt somewhat thankful that he hadn’t overturned the table initially.
Although he had not yet confronted the "Dream Master", the mere glance that the Dream Master cast at her "playthings" unleashed such terrible pollution. Tang Qi silently made a comparison in his mind, if he unleashed his full Molten Magic power, perhaps he could completely resist the pollution.
But facing her in direct combat would be a different scenario entirely.
"There’s a great chance I would need to use the means of Diana or the Master of the Crucible. Is this world’s water, deeper than I imagined?"
In a fleeting thought, Tang Qi’s face remained calm, following the girl like a "Ghost".
When it’s time to follow his heart, he should do so.
Especially here, where he had fortuitously found a truly highly privileged guide, and one free of pollution at that, it would be foolish not to make use of her.
Endlessly extending corridors built entirely of grayish-white bricks.
The two moved incredibly fast, yet they still saw no exit, nor any corners.
The only thing that made Tang Qi feel they were moving was the twisted oil paintings on the walls and their corresponding doorways.
Doors that should have been firmly shut seemed to have been opened due to the passing of the Transcendents and the following of the guides.
Moving quickly, Tang Qi had no time to look at the content of the paintings hanging above the doorways.
After glancing at them with the corner of his eye repeatedly, he saw various true, tempting scenes.
No matter which doorway, the content inside was different.
But there was one commonality; any Transcendent possessing even a bit of Extraordinary Power could obtain great "benefits" inside.
From mountains of Treasure to all sorts of Curios, Secret Medicines, or weapons sought after by Transcendents, and even some legacies, everything imaginable was inside, making this place feel like a beautiful, dream-like realm where one could satisfy all their desires by simply staying.
If these were just "True Illusions," Tang Qi wouldn’t care much.
In the Mysterious Side, many Transcendents possess unique methods that exempt them from the confusion of illusions.
But in this corridor, there is something else that is lethal.
Madness Pollution!
The Red-Hat Girl is an Informer, while Tang Qi, with his strong perception, vaguely senses it.
There exists a powerful, horrifying entity, watching this place from afar.
Because of her gaze, the corridor has given birth to so many abnormalities, and such intense hysterical madness capable of contaminating the soul that even a Transcendent with a Giant Bloodline cannot resist it.
The first one "struck" by this, Sandra, and the others, might have only one explanation for their temporary escape.
"Has she not had enough fun yet?"
When this thought emerged in Tang Qi’s mind, as if realizing something, he almost simultaneously stopped with the Red-Hat Girl in front.
Both of their gazes turned forward.
The corridor, seemingly with eternal dim brightness, finally had only one section left.
At the end, there was another door.
Above it also hung an oil painting, but the content was not distorted; on the contrary, whether in scenes or brushstrokes, it was filled with a childlike essence, as if a pure and lovely girl had painted that dream.
The Transcendents who had previously escaped were now all gathered here.
Their speed had all slowed down.
The Guides, who had been lagging behind, had somehow repositioned themselves next to them.
Starting from a young male adventurer not far ahead of them, they were falling into corruption one by one.
The closer to the "exit," the more realistic and tempting the small worlds that appeared, especially at this moment, Tang Qi could feel it, that gaze filled with malice and madness, watching over from an unknown nihility.
The Transcendents who had already fallen once, each seemed to be trapped in the most difficult decision.
But soon, their bodies and souls were enwrapped by the crawling shadows, dragged into rooms filled with True Illusions; behind them, the Perfect Guides had sinister smiles on their faces, saying:
"Respected Master, please join us in pleasing the great Dream Master."
"Bang"
As the voices fell, the Guides closed the door.
In the blink of an eye, the entire corridor was left with only one person still resisting.
Sandra!
That robust, daring-to-challenge-the-Guide female adventurer.
She seemed stuck in a quagmire, her eyes tightly closed, as she took steps towards the door at the endpoint.
Beside her, the Perfect Guide with a beaming smile followed, opening a new door with every step, presenting a new True Illusion, then making a highly tempting introduction.
Sandra was unmoved; the white light overflowing from her body was nearing its limit, now faintly fading.
Just as she was about to be "oil lamp exhausted," that terrifying pollution suddenly began to dissipate, Sandra seized the opportunity, took a big step forward, grasped the doorknob, using all her strength to open the portal under the oil painting of the Dream World.
In that instant, warm, holy sunlight showered over Sandra.
Beside her, the Guide died amidst painful howls.
A look of "surviving a catastrophe" appeared on Sandra’s face, as she watched, a perfect girl in a light dress slowly walked out of the sunlight, her whole being glowing, behind her was a beautiful, real, seemingly tangible Dream World.
Like a "Fairy," with golden hair, perfect beauty, holy as if from Heaven, her face wore a childlike smile, she stretched out both hands towards Sandra.
"Welcome to join My World."
The moment Sandra touched those immaculate palms, she involuntarily murmured, "Yes, My Master."
"Boom!"
Behind Sandra, Tang Qi seemed petrified, his pupils sharply contracting, as if he had seen the most unbelievable scene in the world.
