Chapter 219: Chapter 218: Black Horn

In the eerie valley, the fierce battle continued to rage, but Nebular’s fight was almost over.

"You will all be judged by my Master!"

Nebular used his Longsword as a crutch and struggled back to his feet, shouting baffling words.

Ronin carefully observed the man’s severed leg. The wound wasn’t bleeding; it seemed to have no effect on him other than hindering his movement.

"Who exactly is your master, Eliot?"

The Flowing Flame Sword wreathed in Flame, Ronin advanced on Nebular step by step. "Why have I never heard that name before?"

"Hahaha! Ignorant human, to have never even heard the name of Lady Eliot!"

Nebular’s expression suddenly turned crazed, like a zealot beholding his god.

"She is the great Divine Envoy, a holy incarnation, the perfect queen!"

He glared madly at Ronin. "Just you watch! Even if I die today, you will never escape our Master’s judgment!"

The sight made Ronin’s brow furrow.

’Judging by his fanatical devotion, only some church out of a novel could have produced a follower like him.’

’But as far as Ronin knew, this world was ruled by Lords of varying power, not powerful churches.’

’He had no idea what kind of person this Eliot must be to cultivate such believers.’

’Then again, creatures that treat people as food were definitely evil. No matter who this Eliot was, the fiends in this cave could not be left alive.’

"Before your master passes judgment on me, you’ll have to face my judgment first, Nebular!"

Ronin dashed in front of him and delivered a powerful slash.

Nebular raised his sword to block, but the immense force of the impact shattered his balance, sending him stumbling backward.

"It’s over!"

Ronin quickly closed the distance, got behind him, and thrust his sword straight through Nebular’s heart.

As Fighting Qi surged into him, the Silver Knight let out a pained howl. Then, just like the Bronze Knight Ronin had killed moments before, he exploded and turned to dust.

["King of Slaughter" achievement unlocked. Attribute Points +300, Energy Essence +600]

This was the achievement reward for killing a Fifth-level Extraordinary Unit, granting Ronin a handsome sum of Attribute Points and Energy Essence all at once.

He snapped back to his senses and surveyed the battlefield.

Macken had already killed the Advanced Level Knight, freeing Krami and Babulin. The two immediately joined Horn and Jenny’s group to help surround the patrolmen. At this rate, they would be wiped out soon.

Meanwhile, the white-haired Female Knight, Natalia, was facing a combined assault from Ridder, Elron, and Macken.

Elron watched for an opening to cast his Light Binding Skill and restrict her movement. Even a one or two-second pause was a massive opportunity for Ridder and Macken.

Golden Level was a rank higher than Silver Level, but that didn’t mean a Golden Knight couldn’t be killed by Silver Knights.

Setting aside prodigies capable of fighting above their rank, a Golden Knight of equal experience and skill could only face three to five Silver Knights simultaneously without being at a disadvantage. Any more than that, and they risked being surrounded and annihilated.

As it stood, Ridder and Macken were likely more experienced in combat than she was. With the addition of a troublesome Light Attribute Mage, Natalia was already stretched thin.

Furthermore, the deaths of her subordinates, Wutang and Nebular, had thrown her mind into chaos.

SLICE!

Ridder’s sword grazed her wrist, slicing open her delicate skin. No blood flowed, but the Fighting Qi left a searing effect in its wake, like a burn.

Natalia roared in a frenzy, her disheveled long hair whipping about like a madwoman’s. She tried to break free from the fight, but Macken blocked her retreat.

"Damn it!"

"You’re all dead!"

She shrieked in fury. Her Swordsmanship grew more ferocious, yet her Stepping Technique became more erratic.

STAB!

SLICE!

RIIIP!

In her frenzy, Natalia was struck by their Longswords repeatedly. The number of searing marks on her body grew. If her wounds could bleed, she would have been dyed red in her own blood.

’She’s about to lose.’

Sword in hand, Ronin slowly approached. If Ridder and Macken weren’t holding back, one of them would have already run Natalia through.

They were only drawing out the fight to leave the final blow for Ronin.

Since when, he wasn’t sure, but Ronin had developed a habit of "kill-stealing."

Natalia’s perception was incredibly sharp. Even mired in combat, she knew Ronin was approaching.

Considering he had already killed Wutang and Nebular, she knew this Ronin was a Silver as well.

Once he joined the three attacking her, with the Mage waiting outside the fray, escape would be impossible!

"Master, I have reached the point of despair!"

A dense wave of Energy erupted from Natalia. As she parried a blow from Ridder, she used the massive force of the impact to pull away.

Even as Macken charged from behind, she paid him no mind, grabbing his Longsword with her bare hand.

With a wet tearing sound, the Longsword sliced open her palm, yet she didn’t pause for an instant, leaping onto a nearby slope.

"You forced me to do this!"

She threw aside her sword, pulled a black Horn from her waist, and blew it forcefully.

OOOOOM—

The low sound echoed across the battlefield, bringing with it an atmosphere of unease.

"OOOOOM—"

From within the cave, a low roar answered the Horn’s call, and the ground began to tremble.

Natalia blew the black Horn again, the blast more urgent and piercing this time.

"Stop her!"

Ridder and Macken sensed something was wrong and charged forward, wanting to snatch the black Horn. But a sea of Flame erupted from the cave, completely cutting them off from Natalia.

Ronin focused his attention, his gaze fixed on the sea of fire. He knew the creature from the cave was coming out!

The wall of fire distorted the air, reigniting the previously frozen tinder and intensifying the blaze. Thick, black smoke billowed up, obscuring their view.

But through the flames and smoke, Ronin could vaguely see a massive figure burst through the mouth of the cave and slowly walk out.

OOOOOM—

The low roar sent a chill down their spines, as if a form of primal suppression was weighing on their very blood.

Everyone who had finished their fights looked toward the cave entrance, their scalps tingling with dread.

"By the Seven Gods, what is that?"

The youngest of the group, Grado, was so startled he stumbled back two steps and fell right on his bottom.

Krami, Jenny, and the others began to tremble involuntarily.

Their mental fortitude was actually decent, as the recent battle had shown.

But that didn’t mean they were incapable of fear.

The sight before them was more than enough to terrify them.

Ronin had already moved to a new position, his view no longer obstructed by the sea of fire. He could finally see clearly what had emerged from the cave.

"That’s..."

Standing at the cave’s entrance was a behemoth a full nine meters long. Its massive body was covered in hard, ice-blue scales that shimmered with a steel-like luster.

Even folded, the wings on its back were enormous; it was hard to imagine what their span would be when unfurled.

But the most chilling feature was its pair of ice-blue eyes, each as large as a great bronze bell. They seemed utterly devoid of emotion; to meet their gaze was to feel nothing but unease and dread!

Ronin’s heart skipped a beat.

’Is that... a Dragon?’
