Lord System: Reborn As The Genius Heir To A Noble Family-Chapter 60: Monster Assimilation System
With a malicious laugh leaving the unmoving smile placed on the deity’s face, it swept its hand from the expanse of bright-red hellfire, sending forth a rainfall of blazing fireballs.
"What’s the plan here, Master?!" Ruby asked hurriedly.
His mind raced as he attempted to find a pathway to avoid the total destruction descending upon them. The only solution he could come up with was a desperate reach, calling upon the assembly of cannons in hopes of countering the incoming fireballs with his own firepower, but he knew it was only a hail mary, not a real answer.
’I could defend myself with Indomitable Earth, but the same can’t be said for Ruby or Hercules. I have to counter it–’ he planned.
As the storm of the burning element quickly approached, the heat was already felt, as if standing in the presence of the Sun itself. He prepared the cannons, readying a fire, though stopped at a distinct sensation in the air.
A bountiful mana surfaced, fluttering through the air in the form of a thousand, ethereal butterflies with wings of cerulean mana.
["...March of The Tranquil..."]
The presence of the magical conjurations met with the roaring fireballs, making contact before–they dispersed. It was a complete nullification, wiping out the overwhelming rainfall of fire as all that remained were embers and azure particles.
"Did you do that?! You’re so cool, Master!" Ruby celebrated, jumping up and down as she tugged on his arm.
He looked ahead, sharing the same confusion worn on the ogre deity’s face in that moment, glancing back towards the mansion. The sensation of the mana was known to him, unmistakable in its refined form.
’Thanks, Beatrice–I owe you one,’ he thought.
Leon shouted, raising his sword, "We’re going for the win! Let’s do this–!"
"With pleasure!" Ruby claimed.
A roar left the jaws of the regal chimera as it gave its own answer, running alongside them with thunderous steps.
["Lordship Rally"]
From his bold proclamation, a golden aura expanded in a manifestation of his will and authority, infusing the maid and beast at his side, imbuing them each with strength beyond their limits. It wasn’t a one-sided assault as the ogre met them halfway with its unnatural strife, sprinting towards them while flipping into the air.
In an attempt to cut into the ogre’s side while it was airborne, Ruby leapt up, though Leon could see the minor deity’s eyes quickly catch onto the assault.
"Ruby!" He shouted.
There was no time to react before the ogre’s hand smacked against the maid, flinging her away like a fly buzzing in the sky.
"Ghh!--" Ruby winced, sliding across the field.
While he wanted to rush to her side, Leon found the ogre still in pursuit of him without changing its course.
The acrobatics of the minor deity came with swings of its far-reaching blade, cutting into the land as each of them were forced to evade its terrifying sharpness. Leon sprinted with Haste guiding his legs as the giant’s blade cast a hail of dirt over his head, running directly beneath a chunk of the field that was flung above.
As the halberd passed right over, he slid across the ground, venturing inches beneath the surface of the primordial weapon. In that split-second, he gazed upon the underside of the halberd, seeing his own reflection in its old steel before arriving to the other side, hopping to his feet as his stride brought him closer to the ogre’s position.
The giant, red feet slammed down as the ogre landed, catching itself on one hand as it was momentarily brought face-to-face with the human lord. Seeing it up close, its terrifying mask-like face grinned, exuding a breath that could wilt a field of flowers.
"Ruuuu..." The growl that left the deity’s lips as it stood upright left like a groan of metal grinding against itself.
As it raised its hand to prepare for a swing of its halberd, Leon witnessed a blur of silver fur leap into the air, watching the chimera latch its jaws around the colossus’ wrist. In that moment, he promised to himself to feed the lion a thousand treats after it was all said and done, able to close the distance freely while the ogre swung its arm around, trying to shake loose the chimera.
"You...!" Rin’Ghal dispelled angrily, grabbing ahold of the chimera’s body with his other hand.
With demonic strength, the ogre clenched it, squeezing with force that would soon shatter each of its bones and squeeze the life out of its organs. A whimper left the chimera’s mouth as its grip loosened, only furthering Leon’s pace as he set his sights on the ogre’s ankles.
Flexing each limb, tightening his core as he drew in a guiding breath, sparks were born through the fibers of his muscles:
["Body of The Self-Realized Storm"]
With one step, he crossed the distance, arriving behind the colossal feet of the ogre as he brought his blade across both of its achilles’ tendons. The unguarded attack allowed the sharpness of his sword to permeate as its vulnerable heels were slashed open.
"Gruuuah...!?" The ogre let out, suddenly losing its balance.
The chimera was dropped as Rin’Ghal waved his arms around, causing the wind to rumble as the colossus stumbled before finally collapsing. It was like an entire building being brought down, bringing the ground to shake as all that weight set downward.
Leon looked towards the maid, who was already on the way to the weakened deity’s position, shouting out, "Finish it–!"
No further words were needed for the gleeful girl, who sprinted on a mission right as the ogre crashed into the soil, causing the field to ripple as she ran across waves of uprisen dirt. Using the momentum as the chunk of land she ran across spiked upward, she leapt towards the head of the ogre that was now within striking range.
"Haaaah...!"
Without an ounce of hesitation, the great-axe twirled along with the maid, carrying the swing into a momentum that multiplied itself with each spin. As she fell within a few meters of contact, the ogre deity attempted to pick itself up, lifting its head only to be met with the sight of that burning smile–squelch.
The colossus’ skull was delivered a swift fate as the axe imbued its sharpness. Ruby stood atop its head, holding the handle of her weapon as the ogre fell limp. As she withdrew the edge, hoisting it up with a smile while catching her breath, she looked towards the young lord on the grass.
"--Done!" Ruby claimed, giving a thumbs-up.
Leon returned the gesture with a smile of his own, only able to share in a laugh at the inarguably thrilling nature of the dance with life-and-death they endured.

He watched as the maid hopped from the top of the ogre’s head, having to descend several meters as she carried her axe on her shoulders. There was no care as the skirt of her uniform flipped, only running over with a giddy smile as if expecting praise.
"Good job," Leon said, giving the girl a pat on the head. "I can always rely on that axe of yours."
"Heh! Thank you!" Ruby accepted the compliments before excitedly claiming. "--There’s no beast I can’t bring down with my beautiful Monster Splitter!"
He almost forgot how savage the name of the girl’s weapon was, in comparison to her adorable looks, at the very least. As he was about to open his mouth to speak of them joining the rest, something caught his eye.
Atop the ogre’s lifeless head, a figure stood, not a monster, but a distinctly human shape–
"Hey! I wouldn’t stand there!" Leon warned.
As he squinted to get a better look, he didn’t recognize the person; a man of short, red hair and a face covered in scars as if having swam through a sea of knives.
Before he could call out again, one word left the stranger’s lips–
"Assimilate."
All at once, a deathly mana expanded through the air before the lifeless body of the ogre deity convulsed. Ruby readied her axe, along with the chimera that stood in preparation for a second clash, only for the ogre to once more stop moving.
"Assimilate–? Hold on, he can’t mean–" Leon pieced together.
There was no time to make a move before the entire body of the colossus was condensed, forcibly siphoned into a singularity met through the palm of the stranger. All turned into a nefarious force, breathed in as naturally as the air itself, the entirety of the ogre vanished, welcomed into the body of the uninvited man.
"Where did it go?! Did he eat him up?!" Ruby asked.
"Something like that, by my guess," Leon quietly answered.
With no piece of the giant left to stand on, the stranger softly landed on the grass, holding a triumphant smile as he clenched his hand, briefly reddening his complexion.
"Oh, man, that’s the stuff. Thanks for bringing that one down so I could do that," the scar-faced man showed his false gratitude.
Being brought closer to the unknown figure, the system finally displayed the information he desperately sought:
[Special Existence Recognized.]
["Ban"] [ [Level: 38] [Monster Assimilation System]
’A system? Another person like Elias and I?’ He questioned, surprised yet finding it adding up at the unnatural action performed by the man.
